Does exactly what it needs to do. No problems with compatibility. The only difference that I saw was the tank color, which was blue instead of aqua which was the color of our original tank.

GE FXUTC Single Stage Drinking Water Filtration System Replacement Filter Save 21% Off

GE FXUTC Single Stage Drinking Water Filtration System Replacement Filter
  • The GE FXUTC activated carbon block water filter produces healthier and better-tasting drinking water and cooking water
  • Reduces chlorine taste & odor
  • Fits most major water filtration brands
  • Life is up to 3000 gallons or 6 months, depending on the quality of your water
  • Fits GX1S01R, GX1S15, GX1S01C, and GN1S15 single stage models

I moved into a new condo last year and the people that sold me it told me about the filter system under the sink, which has worked great. They said to replace it in about six months, and I finally got around to doing it. When I got online, I saw that they had Good, Better, and Best. I thought about going with the top of the line, but tap water in NYC is very good anyway, so figured I''d just get the cheapest to start. Replacement was pretty straightforward and I didn''t need any special tools.

In all honesty, I didn''t notice much of a difference in the TASTE between the old filter and the new, but I''m not sure that anyone would be able too. The stuff it''s filtering out is probably microparticles that we can''t really detect.

But what I DID notice, was that the flow of water through the special water spout (which is separate from the main faucet) came out much stronger. So that tells me that the old one was gunked up a bit and that it worked.

Bottom line, it shipped on time, did what it said it would, and I''ll order again when I need to.

I could barely contain myself as I struggled to open the package containing my new replacement water filter. Ahh. There it is. Long, tubular, pristine. If only someone could actually change out the old one under my sink. My joy would be complete.

Nespresso C100T Essenza Single-Serve Automatic Espresso Machine

Nespresso C100T Essenza Single-Serve Automatic Espresso Machine, Titan GreyAfter a few days of use here are my comments for the C100T and Aerocinno. I am using the combo in a small office setting. The no mess of the espresso machine is great. The shots are really good and consistently good. The machine is very simple to use. Fill w/ water, turn on drop in espresso capsule, push button, and you are done. The only drawback I can mentinon is the capsules must be ordered from nespresso directly. In terms of cost they are significanlty more expensive than premium whole bean or ground espresso roast coffe (lavazza, petes, starbucks, etc.). So with regards to the espresso machine it is perfect for my office due to the no mess and no fuss cup of esspresso. Honestly, I love it. But in my home I will be keeping my Starbucks barista espresso machine due to the fact that it will take any espresso and at home it is easy to clean. The aerocinno is ingenious. It is the perfect compliment for any espresso machine with one caveat, the servings that it can make are only for one so if you are preparing multiple beverages are large single servings it must filled multiple times. If you overfill it, it will make a mess spilling over the sides. I am considering getting one of these for the home too due to the ease of use in comparison to the steamer attached to my espresso machine. In conclusion, I do reccomend this combo highly with the points mentioned above in mind.

I must first disclose that I am not an espresso connoisseur; I drink lattes and cafes-au-lait, and until the time my husband (a quad-espresso per day drinker) purchased the Nespresso C100, I had been a loyal Starbucks patron for at least 9 years. We''ve had the C100 now for over a month and since firing it up the first time, neither he nor I have stepped foot in a Starbucks. If you''re not an espresso drinker and are afraid of the C100 PLUS a regular coffeemaker taking up counter space, fear no more. The C100 has two default settings -one pulls an espresso, and the other, a 4-ounce "lungo" -*and* its volume, unlike the C90, is also programmable. I''ve heard some people complaining about the noise Nespresso machines make, but really, have you ever listened to the noise -and I''m not talking about the deafening and/or obnoxious music -coming out of Starbucks?? As far as the quality goes, I haven''t had coffee this good since my trip to Europe. It is consistent, never burnt-smelling/tasting (especially since the coffee doesn''t sit around after being made), and does not require extensive doctoring to make it palatable. I now drink a plain ol'' lungo, not a drink whose desciption requires a memory capable of beating the upper levels of "Simon Says." The only drawbacks, which are not enough to demote this rating to 4 stars, are the mandatory pod-ordering (and waiting), and the cost of accessories. If you don''t believe me, go to Nespresso''s website and see what a podholder costs.

I bought this machine after reading the reviews here and elsewhere on the Web. I agree with the good reviews. What people didn''t mention, however, are:

(a) it makes a loud rattly whirring noise when you push the button to make coffee. I thought at first that I bought a dud machine, but apparently it''s normal. It''s not a pleasant noise but I got used to it.

(b) the instructions aren''t really in English, they are multi-lingual and rely more on pictures. So it felt like rocket science for the first few minutes as I tried to decode what it meant. Eventually I gave up reading the instructions and figured it out myself.

(c) the espresso can come out quite cold. It''s not super boiling hot when it shoots out, so unless you warm your cup in advance with some hot water, if you don''t drink your espresso right away, that small amount of liquid gets cold quickly.

(d) the salespeople who say, "Each capsule only costs $0.49. Now, when was the last time you spent $0.49 on a cup of coffee?" are making a facetious argument. You are spending $0.49 for a tablespoon of very good espresso. If you tried to make a full cup of coffee (which you shouldn''t, since this is an espresso machine), you will end up spending $2.00 or something like that. So, don''t buy it thinking you will save money. Because if you are a coffee addict, chances are you will spend money on Nespresso AND still go to Peets and Starbucks anyway. So you are not "saving" anything. On a typical day, we go through about 3-4 capsules. So it can become a noneconomical way of enjoying espresso compared to making it the old way with beans.

(e) the capsules come in a variety of blends, but reading between the lines, the beans all seem to come from just 1-2 countries. It''s not as wide or exotic of a geographic range as Peets or Starbucks. So the difference between the capsule colors/flavors is probably illusory. They all taste the same to me (then again I am not an aficionado).

(f) the capsules must be ordered in min. order of 50 (x$0.49 = $25). There is a mandatatory $5.95 shipping and handling. So re-ordering is going to be $30+ a pop.

(g) the machines must be routinely de-scaled and cleaned with fresh water. This maintenance bit annoys me.

Otherwise, it delivers what it promises. I bought it at Williams Sonoma to take advantage of its liberal return policy (apparently, lifetime warranty).

-C100T vs. Citiz-

We deliberated over 2 machines: the C100T and the new Citiz. After doing some research, we found some interesting facts.

The initial advantages the Citiz had over the C100 were:

1) Slightly smaller counter top footprint

2) Flip-up tray for tall Latte glass option

3) Auto shut-off feature

4) Styling, (although only slightly less ugly)

However after a bit more investigation we found some not so obvious advantages the C100 has over the new Citiz.

Firstly the Citiz although priced the same as the C100, does not come bundled with the Aeroccino like C100 does.

Secondly, based on reading other reviewers, some have noted the Citiz have a tendency to jam. After further follow up, some said only when the pod basket is full, yet others have noted this not the case, it jammed even when the pod waste basket was empty. Further follow up showed the Citiz waste pod basket holds 8 used pods where the C100 as many as 12 or more before removal.

Additionally others have brought up the possible detrimental fact that its tall slim design can make the Citiz a bit tippy when loading the pod and not as stable to work with as the C100. After now using the machine I can see where that could be an issue as a bit of force is necessary to lock the lever down.

Yet another reviewer and owner of both machines said he purchased the new Citiz primarily for the optional tall glass feature then found the Citiz was more hassle to clean up because of its 2 or 3 additional parts; the C100 only has 3 parts to clean and clean up is a snap. As mentioned above we too consider the Citiz for its fold up tall glass Latte tray holder, however having now used the C100 with both short and tall glasses, it is really no big deal to hold the tall glass in place during the coffee extraction process.

With respect to counter top space, although only slightly wider in its stance to the Citiz, the C100 is not really large at all. Certainly much smaller than a stand alone drip machine and far smaller than a traditional espresso makerabout the size of a 2 slice toaster.

-The Aeroccino-

Personally I think this part of the system makes the entire coffee come togetherfor me without the Aeroccino, this is just a decent espresso machine.

First of all it is super easy to use, fill to the level, press the button and go. I noted during demos the Nespresso cafe folks would put the lid on downside upat first perplexed later realize it is easier to clean upclever. The other cool feature of the Aeroccino is if you do not want heated milk, hold the button for 3 seconds and the light will go blue instead of redcold whipped milk for ice cafeclever again!

Cooler yet Nespresso designed the little Latte whip and Cappuccino whisk to be held in place by magnets and there is a magnet in the lid to hold one tool when the other is in usethose Swiss are ingenious! In my opinion the Aeroccino does a better job than the integrated Latisima machine.

-Milk Types-

We were recommended to use higher protein milk as it will provide better results and based on some tests, the whole milk higher protein products do produce a really nice froth over slim milk. The machine produces Cappuccino froth amazingly fluffy while the Latte milk the Aeroccino produces is very rich and creamy. The C100 we have is made in Switzerland!

Highly recommended system!!

It makes a fabulous and consistent cup of espresso, with many varities of coffee to choose from. Its easy, drop in the capsule and simply rinse off the removable capsule drop area. I''m not sure if its easier than a traditional espresso machine. In a traditional machine, you simply pack some grounds into a filter, instead of using a capsule.

I emailed Nespresso and found out that each espresso capsule has 5.5 grams of coffee in it, or .19 ounces. Because there are 16 ounces in a pound of coffee, it takes 84 capsules to equal one pound. At $0.49 a capsule, Nespresso is charging $41.16 FOR 1 POUND OF COFFEE.

You must use Nespresso capsules with this system, and only Nespresso sells the capsules. So if you want to pay the equivalent of $41 bucks per pound, this unit is for you.

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner Save 4% Off

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner, 9200This is the first machine I have owned; however, it is among many I have borrowed over many years.

Assembling and acquainting myself with it took only 10 minutes.

I was very happy to buy this unit as the cleaning solution and water vessels are separate. So, I can rinse my carpets after cleaning them.

The heating unit works in just one minute after filling the water bladder and placing it back on the deep cleaner. Then...you are off and cleaning your carpets.

Using it on a 12'' x 12'' bedroom and a 14'' x 25'' great room was pretty easy and pleasureable. The result was perfection in a spotless carpet! Most importantly, a spotless carpet with little shampooing residue left behind compared to other cleaners.

Why not 5 stars as a rating from me?...Well, the following are the issues I have but am willing to deal with:

*** They say you can leave the cleaning solution in the tank until the next time you clean, which could be many months from now. I do not recommend this as the unit seemed to leak while the cleaning solution was left in the tank and the unit was merely sitting with the cord wrapped up. Simply dump the cleaning solution back into the bottle and rinse out the vessel.

*** Carpet fibers seem to adhere to the bottom of the unit behind the brushes. To avoid dislodging these fibers onto the carpet during cleaning, the bottom of the unit should be wiped down frequently.

*** To keep the unit in tip top shape, the rollers, sucking unit, water bladder, and cleaning solution vessel should be removed, rinsed, and allowed to dry thoroughly. Direction are given in the manual to remove all of these items properly; however, it requires 15 minutes of dismantling...then overnight to dry...then another 15 minutes to reassemble. Unscrewing screws is involved 4 screws...this was to access the front sucking nozzle and two rollers. To remove the water bladder and replace it seems to put a bit of wear on the bladder and I anticipate having to buy a replacement for this in the years to come. BUT...each piece that is rinsed off cleans up VERY easily and dries well.

*** The design of the water bladder-dirty water vessel is a bit odd. You fill a bladder (plastic) with hot tap water. The bladder is seated in a rigid plastic containment unit. It turns out this rigin plastic containment unit is the dirty water vessel. The water from the carpet is sucked in and resides on the outside of the clean water bladder. Clever design, but somewhat of a pain as the vacuum/ no vacuum trigger can be easily tripped if the unit bumps into furniture or you move it left or right to quickly. The reason seems to be the water sloshing around outside the bladder and inside the bladder flow and trigger the valve to prematurely open and stop the sucking. Not a huge issue, just an annoyance b/c you have to turn off the vacuum and jostle the unit a bit to get the valve to close again.

*** The placement of the accessory hose is awkward especially if you are a left-handed vacuumer. My leg would bump into the hose and the latch they have designed to secure it is not very good at keeping it secure. I had to reseat the hose 5 times during the cleaning of my two rooms... Again, an annoyance.

*** The wheels on the unit are large in diameter, which makes the unit very easy to maneuver even though it is heavy (I agree with a prior reviewer that heavy is good in a carpet cleaner). However, I question how well they are assembled to the machine as there seems to be some give left-to-right as you turn the unit...we''ll see about this in the long run.

All in all, I am still quite satisfied with the unit as it does all that I wanted it to do. I am not sure that you would not have other annoyances with other brands as well...in other words, I do not think there is a perfect carpet cleaner as I have been researching them for weeks now...all of them seem to have issues in some way or another. But the issues I describe here versus the result in clean carpets...has me very happy to own the Bissell ProHeat 2X.

After owning Hoovers, I recently tried this model. I have been generally happy with my last two Hoover carpet cleaners and they have been durable for me. I used both TONS -the 1st one was a very early model that was still going strong after 5 or 6 years of hard use, and I replaced it with one that had rotating brushes. It also got years of use but I accidentally damaged it thru my negligence. (Used it in an unheated cabin, left it overnight, and it got well below freezing I broke the spray trigger when I impatiently tried to use it.) My last one still worked if you pushed the surge button and then pried it up again, but I decided to get a new one.

I purchased the Hoover 914-900, but it leaked before even starting to use it, so I returned it and bought a Bissell Proheat 2x. I liked that it seemed easier to clean the machine than the Hoovers, and that it had a rinse option, although not conveniently located. I noticed immediately with first use that it wasn''t as good as even my old (trigger broken) Hoover. The Bissell didn''t extract water well at all, even though I went over and over an area trying to get the water up. It was obvious by looking that it also didn''t clean as well (probably as a result of leaving dirty water still in the carpets.) If it''d been my first carpet cleaner I might have thought it great since it did get dirt out, but I knew they didn''t look as clean as in the past and mostly they were WET. The next day, before returning it I bought ANOTHER Hoover 914-900 thinking the first leaky one was an anomaly. The 2nd one leaked initially also, but once I used it for a minute, pressed and released the trigger a few times and the seals got wet, it stopped leaking. Thus I had two new cleaners to try side-by-side. Where I used the Bissell after the Hoover, there was no difference, the Bissell didn''t get the carpet any cleaner. Where I used the Hoover on where I''d cleaned with the Bissell the night before -a BIG difference. The carpet was visibly cleaner; (it''s a very light carpet so it''s easy to see that) the dirty water collected confirms that it picked up dirt the Bissell left behind; and the carpet was drier. This was a return to what I expected based on my last 2 Hoovers -damp carpet, not WET carpet, and I think it''s why the Hoover cleaned better. The Hoover isn''t perfect -the tanks need to be bigger for fewer trips to the sink (if too heavy for some people, they wouldn''t have to fill as full), and there is no good way to clean it! I did like the idea behind the Bissell of having clean water with which to either mix with the detergent and spray, or to rinse with, and it would be a plus if Hoover would find a way to do that. (Especially if the "rinse" button was on the handle and easily accessible.) But Bissell''s technique of inserting a plastic bladder for clean water inside the dirty water tank means neither holds much water which makes for extremely frequent trips to the sink. Also, having to stop, bend over, and switch a dial on the base to "rinse" and the same to switch back to cleaning mode was highly inconvenient. Last, Bissell''s on-board water heater didn''t seem to make a difference. Leaving behind too much dirty water was its downfall, it didn''t matter that the water went in "heated." I used the hottest tap water I could in the Hoover and it worked just fine. The "proheat" seems to me to be just another unneeded gizmo that can break. Overall, I guess it depends on what''s most important to you. For me, clean carpets that dry in a couple of hours trumped ease of cleaning the machine.

Buy BISSELL ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner Now

Others have gone into very good detail about this machine so I won''t go over that again. What I will add, however, is that there are a couple weird things about this carpet cleaner that I didn''t expect.

The first is that if you have pets you will have to go back and pick up clumps of hair even if you''ve just ran the vacuum cleaner. This is a good/bad situation as it''s good that it''s getting up all the hair that the vacuum cleaner missed but it''s also a pain in the back (literally) to have to bend over every minute or two to pick up clumps of hair or risk clogging up the carpet cleaner with hair. We''ve lived in this house for 2 1/2 years and have had 2 cats the whole time, 2 dogs for 2 of those years so we expected some pet hair. We''ve ran the vacuum cleaner twice a week on average ever sinced we moved in, however, so you may not have that problem if you don''t have as many animals as we have.

The second quirk and one that will effect everyone is the fact that it seems to leak. We have a "green machine" (portable hand held Bissell) that we have the same problem with so it seems to be a problem with all Bissell''s. After you turn off the carpet cleaner and wrap the cord up you''ll be surprised to see a mess of dirty water under where the carpet cleaner was. Tacks such as running a minute or so (continually moving it) before shutting it off doesn''t work either. We have to store the carpet cleaner in the garage as it will continue to leak out over the next few hours or so and leaves a puddle of water about 6 inches in diameter.

The final little quirk is that, even though it cleans well, be prepared for the carpet to be very wet when you''re done. The carpet cleaners that we''re all familiar with that we rented when we lived in an apartment (rug doctors) dry your carpet better I believe because they''re heavier. Bissell had to walk the fine line of making it light enough for the petite among us to use it while still cleaning the carept without doing damage to it. Like I said above, it cleans pretty good but the carpet is very wet afterwards. This quirk isn''t that bad as long as you plan ahead.

Overall I give it 4 stars because it does it''s job but the quirks keep it from being a must have product.

Positive:

* Machine is easy to maneuver and is similar to a vacuum cleaner in that the machine can be operated

* 2 in 1 tank recovery tank with solution tank bladder

* Electronic circuit breaker reset (power off then on to reset)

* Dual brushes lift pile well and make carpet look nice after cleaning

* Simple float design

Negative:

* The machine does not pickup water well. Several passes are required after water is sprayed onto the floor.

* First operation resulted in no water spray due to loose connection of the tank to the base.

* Second operation resulted in no water pick up due to loose connection of the tank to the base. A better instruction manual would help.

* Float trips too easily especially if machine is moved from side to side.

* The accessory tool location is awkward I cut my knee on it

* The instruction manual requires the tips and brush to be removed after each use

* Debris (mainly long human hair and cat hair during this use) easily clogged the vac shoe and left wet spots on carpet.

* Also little "hairballs" occasionally were dislodged from the underside of the machine. The debris collected behind the brushes.

I have never owned a carpet cleaner like this before. I used an upright Hoover a couple years ago that a friend owned but that''s my only experience with this type of machine.

My wife and I have a large area rug approx. 12x16 and it needed cleaning bad. It had many stains from over 4 years of use. Most of the stains I had tried to remove with good''ol elbow grease but no luck. We decided to have it professionally cleaned but when we realized how expensive it was going to be ($300!!) we decided to buy our own. We purchased the Bissell Proheat 9200T from Target for $200 (Sorry Amazon!).

The unit was easy to assemble and use. Of course it took some getting use to but overall very easy. It ran out of clean water twice while I was cleaning and each time I didn''t realize it for a couple of strokes. I wish there was an easy way to know if it needed more water. Also, like the previous poster mentioned carpet gunk gets stuck under the machine behind the rollers and it needs to be wiped clean periodically while cleaning. You also have to dismantle the front roller assembly by removing 5 screws in order to properly clean the unit when finished. I wish this was easier but I don''t see it as a major problem as I don''t anticipate using this everyday.

Our carpet is now spotless! We are thrilled with the results. There were dark black stains on our light beige colored rug for years and they are all gone now. I was only expecting a minor improvement but this machine made the rug look new again!!

For only $200 we have a brand-new rug and a great machine that will hopefully last for years. I can''t recommend Bissell enough

Mavea Maxtra Replacement Filter for Mavea Water Filtration Pitcher Save 28% Off

Mavea 1001122 Maxtra Replacement Filter for Mavea Water Filtration Pitcher, 3-PackSome reviewers are complaining about the timer not working properly. If you read the description for the pitcher you''ll have an answer to your question. I didn''t and ended up contacting Mavea who explained why the timer on my pitcher ticked down to 0% after only 3 weeks of use. The timer is not simply a clock like you get with the Brita filter. Theirs is a dummy clock that ticks down 2 months regardless of how often you fill it. Mavea claims their timer is more sophisticated than that. It also factors in the hardness of the water and the amount of water you put into the pitcher. My city water is hard (14) and we refill the pitcher quite a bit...even though there''s only 2 of us plus a dog in this household. I''m home all day and I drink a lot of water. The dog gets filtered water too in his bowl. :)

So that explains why the timer is not giving all of us the same information. I''d rather know my filter is nearing its usefulness than to not know and keep drinking water from it.

The extra filter keeps those nasty charcoal bits out of my water. I was constantly emptying the Brita pitcher to remove charcoal that had sunk to the bottom of the pitcher. Brita says that''s Ok, you can drink the charcoal. No thank you, I''d rather my water pitcher not look like someone has been panning for gold.

The company that makes this Mavea pitcher used to own Brita. After they sold it to Clorox they proceeded to design a better product which turned out to be this water filtration pitcher. Another improvement was to make it out of BPA-free plastic.

Even though I''ll have to buy more filters (3-packs) I''m still happy I switched to this brand.

With our use, refilling our Mavea Elemaris XL pitcher (full on top = about 2/3 full on bottom*), about 7 times per day, almost every day, we average about a filter per month, having bought and used 18 in the last 18 months. I do wish they came in a 6-pack, or more.

Our drinking water (unfiltered) tastes pretty bad. It''s quite delicious now that we use this filter. No scientific tests yet (ordering a test kit soon), just a very picky palette and infamously sensitive nose. We''re not quite sure how the "meter" measures hardness, volume, and length in use, but it lasts a reasonable amount of time for us (about a month), and we can taste the difference a few days after it gets to the 25% "line", so replacing the filter seems to come at an appropriate time. Since the meter uses three factors to determine filter "usedness", your mileage may vary.

*For more info about the Elemaris XL pitcher, please see my review posted under that product. (included because of the inherent "partnership" between the two products)

We like these filters because I have read:

they are NSF-certified (yay!)

they remove more contaminants than a Brita or PUR

they have silver-infusion to help prevent bacterial growth (we keep ours on the countertop, so this is more needed than if we kept it in the fridge)

and, they do NOT release little black carbon particles (ick!)

and, we''re happy they are recyclable. For further eco-savings, buy the three-pack (reduces carbon footprint of transportation in shipping); and, when they''re used up, keep a stock of spent filters, to reduce the carbon footprint of sending just one back at a time. Or, better yet, find a store in your area (walking distance is best, of course) that will take yours and send them to be recycled along with others'' filters.

With how great this pitcher/filter combination performs for us, it''s difficult to drink tap water without it. So, I also wish they made a travel-sized version.

I rely on reviews here at Amazon to help me make informed buying choices. I hope this review has helped you in the same manner. If you voted this as helpful, I Thank You! :)

Many people seemed to be concerned about the life expectancy of the filter. This filter really does respond to the water it is filtering. For the most part I am the sole user of my Mavea & having used it for awhile I''ve learned just about how much life each filter has, even by the .25% as shown on the display. Its just something you absorb. Anyway, I took my pitcher on an extended trip to the mountains & WOW! What a difference the water made. I did not need to use the spare, which I should have needed and still had mileage on my original filter to use once I was back in the city. Once back home the filter was quickly eaten up as per usual. On a second occasion I noticed that my filter was being eaten up. I was barely using it and the life was going, going, gone. I thought, like many perhaps it was the gauge until I realized that for the past several nights, thanks to my insomnia, that I was filling up my pitcher when the water plant must have been treating the water and was getting a particularly strong stream of chlorinated/chemically treated water. We''ve all had that, when you open the tap & smell the chlorine & most of us at one time or another have taken a sip of that water before our brains register the smell & bad taste. I am happy to say that once I paid attention & stopped filling the pitcher when the water appeared to be treated that my filter went back to the life expectancy that I am used to. These two incidents make me believe that the filter is doing its job and doing it well. I think treating the each unique water source is more valuable than an overall specified length of time or volume of water filtered. My suggestion is spend some time using your pitcher, get to know the average life expectancy of your filter & then IF it seems to be getting eaten up start questioning the efficacy of the gauge (might also want to see if something has changed in your water source as well).

Just an FYI to all the people that are unaware of it... Mavea, as well as most brands of filters recommend that you do not filter more than 2 pitchers a day or within a certain amount of time between fill ups for maximum filtering. Also, the Mavea filter filters the water much faster than the different types of PUR filters that I have used (sorry, haven''t had a Brita), but according to statistics given by both manufacturers Mavea filters out less things than the PUR triple action filter or whatever their strongest pitcher filter is. Hopefully Mavea will come up with an even better & stronger filter soon. That is the reason for only 4* otherwise Mavea rocks!

WHIRLPOOL WHER25 and KENMORE UltraFilter 450 / 650 R.O. Pre & Post Filter SET Save 23% Off

WHIRLPOOL WHER25 and KENMORE UltraFilter 450 / 650 R.O. Pre & Post Filter SETComes with all the parts. Easy to install. Takes about ten minutes. Clear instructions. Nothing not to like.

Replace yearly for the best results.

These fit my Kenmore Reverse Osmosis (450/ 650) under sink RO filter. They are expensive because they are self-contained, not just a filter that goes into the filter housing. Sears is selling a pair at ovre $80. I bought a set from Sears in June for $45, hence the online look about for something at a reasonable price. I think that the filter unit itself will have to go in a year or so, because of the filter costs.

1L Grease Drain Opener

1L Grease Drain Opener
  • "INSTANT POWER" HAIR AND GREASE DRAIN OPENER
  • 1 liter.
  • Formulated to create heat to melt grease from clogged kitchen sinks and drains.
  • Dissolves hair from clogged bathroom sinks, showers and tubs.
  • Safe for all pipes and septic systems.

Purchased this at Home Depot (CLARIFICATION purchased INSIDE A BRICK AND MORTAR STORE much cheaper than this on-line price) for the WORST clogged bathtub (caused by a tenant)EVER. When I moved back in, the tub drained terribly slow and only got worse.

I tried everything but calling a plumber who wanted over $200.

Blew money on worthless canned air that shoved the clog further into the drain, purchased many plungers none worked and neither did the boiled water/vinegar/baking soda "natural" idea. Drano, from past experience, never works so I saved my money by refusing to purchase the junk.

Instant Hair and Grease CLEARED MY BATHTUB DRAIN IMMEDIATELY. I let the water drain and helped it go down with a plunger. Once the standing water was gone and there was at least an inch or so of no water in the pipe, I poured in some Instant Hair and Grease.

My dishwasher stopped draining and I cleared what I could around the drain holes at the bottom of the dishwasher. I let an EMPTY dishwasher run for a bit and then poured in a VERY SMALL AMOUNT and closed the door to let the unit cycle though. BINGO my dishwasher drains free now. In a two year period, I used this product 3 times on my dishwasher with no problems. It probably isn''t recommended for it, but it works and it hasn''t affected my 1999 Whirlpool dishwasher except to allow it to drain quickly.

NOTE: Home Depot carries it in 2 sizes. Buy the larger size and save money.

UPDATE January 2013. A contractor dumped several buckets of dirty mop water into my bathroom sink. The bottom of the buckets had a thick layer of brick dust and drywall dust from where they tore out a wall and tore down an old oil burning brick chimney. They also ripped all the drywall off all 4 walls and insulated the walls and re-drywalled. I think they dumped something else down there also because the plunger pulled up dirt or something like dirt. The sink was CLOGGED nothing went down. Repeat plunging of the sink forced up a ton of dirt and sludge and when enough water was removed I used the recommended amount of drain cleaner. It did not work despite my not using the sink for 24 hours to let it work. So I plunged the sink again to force down the water (wearing safety goggles/gloves) and then I waited a week (did not use the sink) until enough water had evaporated or drained from inside the pipes then I poured quite a bit of this drain cleaner much more than it says to on the directions because this was my 2nd attempt using the product. After pouring quite a bit down the drain I left the stuff to work for over 24 hours. Result the sink drains perfectly now.

I didn''t buy this online because of the shipping charges; I got it at a local Home Depot. It is the only chemical drain cleaning product that has ever worked for me. I used it in three bathroom drains (two sinks and one tub) in which I''d repeatedly (over the course of years) used Liquid-Plumr and Drano with no real results. These drains were all slow, but not completely clogged. I poured the recommended amount of Instant Power Hair & Grease Drain Opener into each drain and left them overnight. In the morning, I poured about a quart of boiling water down each drain, and now they all drain perfectly. We were so used to the drains being slow that we are amazed at how well they drain now.

The way the product worked on one drain in particular illustrates how great the product is. When I poured the boiling water in, it didn''t drain immediately -it backed up into the sink. Then there was a big GLUG (the clog being washed away), and all the water drained away. This is one of those products that actually works as advertised. It also has a money-back guarantee; so if you buy it in a brick and mortar store, it would be easy to return if it doesn''t work (but I''ll bet you won''t have to do that).

Had an extremely slow draining tub so I bought this stuff at Home Depot and gave it a shot. Poured it in and let sit over night and the next morning I flushed it with a gallon of boiling water. The clog is gone and the tub drains effortlessly.

I bought this product because it was cheaper than the others. I should have spent the extra $2 bucks because it just doesn''t work. I usually use a product called "Hair Away"...I''ll be going back to that. I even let it sit overnight as instructed.

it didnt work for me i even boiled the water.i spent 70 for a plumber to come out he removed hair

Culligan IC-100A Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter Save 22% Off

Culligan IC-100A Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter
  • Culligan icemaker and refrigerator dispenser drinking water filter
  • Reduces bad taste and odor and chlorine taste and odor
  • Easy installation and compact design
  • Includes 1/4-inch compression fittings
  • 2,500-gallon capacity or 12-months

I have used this filter in the past and ordered two replacements. This time, however, I was sent the Culligan IC-100A instead of the Culligan IC-100. The difference is, as I can clearly see on the boxes, the A does not contain the two fittings (adapters) that I need. Make sure that you receive the correct product before you put this away for future use (as I was going to do.) My order and my receipt both say IC-100 (no A) and since there doesn''t seem to be a way to directly talk to Amazon or e-mail them, I''m just returning these. Problem is that in searching for the correct product on the internet, all links go back to Amazon -the Amazon cosmic loop.

While installing this icemaker water filter, one of the [optional] adaptors for compression nut ends snapped clean off. Now I must call customer service to see what can be done. Needless to say, I''m not pleased with the quality of this product.

I''ve been using this filter model for two years. I''m on my second unit. It works about the same as other inline filters I''ve used with regard to taste of the water. It seems not to last as long, but maybe my waster quality has changed, but it lasts long enough considering the price. I do like the quick connect fitting system. My filter is located in an awkward location, and not having to snug up compression fitting anymore to copper tubing is a big help.

I''ve read other reviews comment on black particles. You have to flush out the filter before you hook up the outlet end to your refrigerator. Just like any other filter. Maybe a gallon at most. I just do it until I don''t see black particles coming out. The instructions say to do this as well, but I think it says to use more water. That''s just CYA though.

I am not sure if it was something I was doing, but I bought two of these (one to install and one for backup) and while trying to put the first one in place, it broke (small thin plastic attachment onto my copper cable wasn''t working). I was really glad I bought two then the second one broke too!!!

I decided to drink my water as it comes out of the ground forget the filterthese aren''t worth it. (HOWEVER, they did refund me the entire price so this seller is reputable!!) Thanks for that guys!

I bought a two-pack for my Sub-Zero refrigerator. The older water filters used to come with brass nuts on each end but these new ones come with plastic ones. I over tightened and cracked the first one. This is probably my fault but would not have happened with brass nuts. Luckily, they come in pairs, so I installed the second filter without any problems. Next time, If I have a choice, I will choose a filter that is made with quality parts.

Shop-vac 901-13 Super Performance Reusable Dry Filter Save 28% Off

Shop-vac 901-13 Super Performance Reusable Dry FilterThis filter fit my old Montgomery Ward shop vac perfectly and is working just fine. The old filter was just a foam sleeve. I got a new foam sleeve and this filter fits over it. This should extend the life of the vac another 40 years.

My Shop-Vac is a 12 Gallon Model 800L. In 2010, I added a Trash Can Cyclone Lid w/ a 5-gallon bucket to create a 2-stage system.

After having a malfunction that clogged the paper filter, I browsed the Shop-Vac website for a solution. I equipped the 800L with a

Gore CleanStream-Gore HEPA Cartridge Filter (Shop-Vac 9034000) and a Disposable Collection Filter Bag (906-62-00).

This created a 3-stage system that is effective for filtering all but the extremely finest dust.

I also replaced the Reusable Disc Filter on my Mini-Vac with a Super Performance Dacron® Cloth Filter (901-15-00).

I also purchased a Super Performance Dacron® Reusable Disc Filter (901-13-00) and a 3-Pack of Reusable Disc Filters (901-37-00) as backup for both vacuums.

Evercare Pet Hair Adhesive Roller

Evercare Pet Hair Adhesive RollerThis tape is very sticky.

I have had products with more sheets but I think the trade off is good.

Good product and good price.

More economical to buy the refills.

I don''t think I''ll ever get a full proof solution to the pet hair problem. As soon as it starts to warm up, on cue, my dog and cat immediately start shedding. But between brushing, my upholstery vacuum and this, I manage to keep it under control. It really comes in handy when I need something really quick. I use it on, everything but my carpet, and I love it. It beats every thing else I''ve ever bought.

This item is rated as being one of the best rollers available. Unfortunately, that is a sad testimony, because if this is the best, I wonder what the worse is like. I have to take off several sheets, just to get it to work the way it should. I purchased it because I have a new black pea coat that collects lint easily. I don''t own a pet. But the roller does not do a very good job with my coat. I think I would do better just buying a roll of masking tape and wrapping it around my hand, like I did with my uniforms when I was in the Navy several years ago..

They work well and i need a case of them for my long haired dog! I should buy stock. If they were a little cheaper I''d give them five stars.
