After searching for a good shower water filter for a long time and trying other models, the Omni Filter SF200 is GREAT. It lasts for a long time and when broken open, contains 3" of charcoal. Other filters of this type might give you 1/2" or less, plus a bunch of cotton. The SF200R (replacement cartridge isn''t what I''d call cheap ($12) but it DOES last about six to eight months.We tested the water in our 1 gallon counter-top tea-water boiler and after boiling down several times there were only a few clear crystals in the bottom, as opposed to the layer of crusty-yellow deposit after boiling dry. Now we fill the tea-water boiler from the shower and the water tastes better. This filter has proven itself. We used it for 8 months last time and when I broke it open with a hammer, we had used up about 2/3 of the charcoal; that''s with three showers a day. GET one they are the best.
