I had gone through a couple of the Sears filters because their diverter valve (what hooks to the faucet) had broken and they wanted almost $40 to replace the part, so I decided to try something with a metal valve. This filter was delivered quickly and it came with a filter wrench which was a great help to open it. It was easy to install and the the new diverter works way better. The only improvement I could suggest is that it be supplied with a carbon type filter instead of the string sediment filter it came with.

I was excited when I got my filter because I needed a new one. The instructions on the box were totally confusing but I managed to get it hooked up to my facet. I let the water run for a while and then shut it off. When I went to get water for my coffee. I let it run for a little bit and much to my dismay The water tasted like chlorine still and had a funny smell. I have had it for a while and it hasn''t gotten much better. I leave the water running for about 4 minutes and then I get my water for coffee or what ever I need it for. I am going to change the filter to a carbon based filter and see if that makes a difference.
