I thought a bad solenoid was the problem with my Honeywell humidifier. It wasn''t. A hard water deposit had plugged a the pinhole sized inlet on the fitting that goes into my solenoid. Once I turned off the power and water, remove the water line and the inlet fitting; I cleaned out the pinhole and the little black screen inside the silver fitting and could blow through it. Put it all back together and the solenoid was was working like a champ again. It is awesome that this solenoid is available here, just make sure that that is really the problem first. I fixed mine for $0.00.

I do not recommend these at all. The paper is too thick and they taste like it! You get six pushes with 7 filter packs in each pouch. Thus when you open one pouch all 7 filter packs are exposed to air. I really like the masterblend version of these which come in the little packets and you use your own filter. But regardless both are made for 10 cups of water 12 is too weak

Having moved recently, we were not happy to note the odd taste of the city water in our area. As our Kenmore refrigerator is the type that dispenses ice and water, we felt that installing an inline filter was a good idea. We live in a brownstone in New York City with no ventilation in our cellar for a conventional dryer. We''ve had the Bosch for 2 years. Bosch makes one of the few condensation dryers with the capacity to dry large loads. It takes about 45-60 minutes to dry a standard load of shirts and socks. Large bedspreads take about twice as long. It''s a lot slower the conventional dryers, but it does the job. It is easier on fabrics because it simply pulls moisture from the chamber instead of blasting clothes with hot air. My clothes seem to hold color better. It''s expensive, but fine if you don''t mind the wait.

The outlet for this dryer is not conventional. It''s not a big deal (inexpensive) to get an electrician out to switch it, but that will be a small added cost.

Like I''ve seen on many blogs (which I should have listened to), the Bosch Axxis dryer is eccentric/temperamental and doesn''t work half the time (and it''s very expensive to begin with, but that''s where your costs start). It''s washer companion is just fine, but between a host of different elements on the dryer, maintaining it is difficult at best, the sensor is extremely temperamental, and Bosch''s service is criminal. Bosch has a curious "blame the customer" attitude, uses a 5th rate corrupt repair guy in the NYC area -and don''t seem to care (repairs cost $99 for the visit + $120/hour for labor). It looks good on top of their serviceable washer, and that''s about it -buyer beware!

The Good: These are great units for a second floor closet without a vent. If you have a vent, there are better and much cheaper alternatives!

We inherited a new Bosch HE washer/condenser dryer set with our house. We were so excited! Don''t have to go buy new appliances! But now I know why they left them here.

The dryer condenser is not well designed. It is flat, so the condensate doesn''t drain well. Then it becomes full of water, then it stops condensing, then the clothes don''t get dry. I literally take this out between every load to clean out the condensed water, and I still have to air dry it completely every 3-4 loads or it just won''t work. Plus, lint gets in the metal condenser and it''s almost impossible to clean out. I''ve tried pipe cleaners and towels and chopsticks.... it''s about a food long and has closely spaced plates of metal ridges for surface area for condensing. The thing is, the lint travels through on the air and gets stuck on the metal ridges. Then because it is so long and the plates are so close together, it''s almost impossible to clean. It should be snap-together or something so you can open it up to get the lint out. But it''s not. My best solution so far is to take used dryer sheets and run them through with chopsticks. It takes at least half an hour to get most of the lint out, and it''s tedious and unnecessary.

The front vent is difficult to open to clean as well. Also, because it''s not designed to vent to a duct to go outside, the water condenses in your laundry area (for us, a closet with doors).

All-around poor design. Full of frustration. I got a set of HE stackable washer/dryer from Sears, the Kenmore brand. Better warranty and works great. More features, same size. Also, since I got it on sale, cheaper. Go to a brick and mortar store and save yourself some grief.

I just moved into a new apartment that came equipt with this dryer. It is so bad that I felt compelled to write a review. It does not do the one thing a dryer is suppose to do which is dry clothes! I have only used it for two weeks and it takes me three times longer to do my laundry than my old dryer. I am afraid to see what my electric bill is going to be. The sensors are suppose to be able to tell when my clothes are dry but it always shuts off when they are still very damp. I start the cycle again and it shuts itself off because it insists that the clothes are dry! I put a load in and let it run naively thinking that it would actually dry the clothes. I forgot about it, as I often do being a busy mother, and when I went to get the clothes the next morning they smelled because the dryer stopped while the clothes were still wet! I had to wash the clothes all over, which is a huge suck of time, money and energy! There is a timer setting, which is all use now, but you can''t control the temperature when using the timer. I almost wish I had bought this dryer myself so that I could return it. Alas, I am stuck with it unless I can convince my landlord to replace it. Since I pay the electric bill I am guessing he is not going to be too bothered. If you would like a dryer that actually dries clothes do not buy this. If you prefer your clothes damp and smelly then this is the one for you.

THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!I purchased this to take care of my son''s bedwetting accidents when he comes into my room during the middle of the night. It pulls more liquid back out of the mattress than any other spot cleaner or the upholstery attachment from my carpet cleaner. When it arrived, I decided to go back over my mattress to see if it would take out the water marks left from the other machines I''d tried -it took all of them out & left my mattress looking brand newfinished up around 4:30 pm and the mattress was completely dry & ready for bedding well before 8 that same daynot possible with any of the bissel products I tried. The hard surface attachment is a nice feature of well & did a very nice job on the kitchen tile grout.

The only negative/cons I can come up with for this item is the fill line on the dirty reservoir side is a bit lower than what the tank has capacity for, the heads are a little difficult to detach, but I''m more than willing to put up with it for the amount of liquid it pulls out of a fabric surface, and the last would be the length of the hoseit could be a little bit longer to make cleaning items like a mattress easier.

One other word of cautionbe prepared for the amount of dirt this thing will pull out of whatever surface you use it on!!!This thing is great!

This product has a couple design flaws: 1) the sprayer sprays about 10-12 inches beyond each side of the nozzle so the water/solution gets all over the place, 2) the clean tank is about 25% larger than the dirty tank, so you have to stop and empty the dirty tank before the clean tank is empty...and removing the dirty tank requires removing the clean tank and during this whole process water leaks all over.

The quality control on this product is really bad. I knew I was in trouble right away when I opened the directions and they started at #2. Also, on the side of the unit itself the word "machine" is misspelled. Water leaks everywhere. One good thing is that it comes with the hard floor attachment which came in handy to clean up all the leaked water when I was done.

It did do a fair job of cleaning spots. I just had to clean a 3 foot radius around the spots and change my clothes when I was done.

I was looking for a spot remover since I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. So far, it has been great! There is no heater in it but it still removes the stains pretty good. The sprayer does spray pretty wide but once you figure it out then it is no big deal. It is easy to clean and I just rinse the nozzle with the brush after I use it. The suction power is actually better than I expected especially since other reviews said it was weak. I like that it is narrow so it will sit on the stairs easily while I clean. I would recommend this product.

Bought the 3-housing setup from amazon. Sediment, iron reduction, and carbon filters bought elsewhere only because amazon did not offer all 3 kinds. The 3-housing system comes pre-assembled which saves time and hassle. I supplemented the two mounting holes on the bracket with an angle bracket, one end mounted under one of the center filter attach screws and the other end attached to my floor joist. The whole 3-filter setup is a bit heavy and since the two supplied mounting holes are off-center of the center of gravity, the assembly tends to swing one way a bit when everything is installed and filled with water. Overall the system is great, very stout construction and my water is now clear of iron.

I bought 2 of these from home.woot during a woot-off and am very pleased with it so far. The unit itself looks as good as any other "appliance" on my counter. The water flow is excellent and beats even the faucet mount filters (brita and pur). It was very easy to install and is easy enough for my 3 and 5 year olds to operate. The 1000 gallon/1 year filter life is excellent, and even better is that the unit comes with a second filter included! As long as the unit itself lasts that long it will be WELL WORTH THE MONEY compared to other faucet mount filters. Even for a full price purchase!

Both my friend and I have had no luck with several different Brita and Pur faucet mounts lasting more than 3-6 months without leaking so badly they were just useless. At about $25 each and $10 a filter for the Brita and Pur brands (which only last 100 gallons or about 2 months in my house) I was easily spending over $100/year on filtration systems AND adding quite a bit of trash to the landfills. Lately I''ve just stuck with the agonizingly slow pitcher filters. Now I''m thrilled to have the Fresh n Pure system. I should be set for 2 YEARS with a single filter replacement that comes with it.

My only CON would be the black tubing that comes with my black model. It is quite unsightly going from the diverter on the faucet to the unit on my counter. A transparent tubing would be much less noticeable against my chrome faucet. I must assume the white units come with white tubing, which would be only a slight improvement.

So long as it works as its supposed to I will be a very pleased customer! I will update in a few weeks/months on how it''s holding up.

First, about the person giving it 1 star because it doesn''t remove flouride. You shouldn''t give something a horrible review because it doesn''t do something you wanted it to, but clearly never said it would. Flouride is put in municipal water in areas *on purpose* (I''m not saying this is a good thing, but it is true), you should look for a filter specifically meant to remove it.

With that said, I am very pleased with this item. It immediately took that nasty chlorine taste out of my water, I wanted my water to taste good and now it does. A year of clean water and bpa-free bottles to drink it from.

Mine was leaking when I first used it, so I looked it up on the internet to find there was no advice on how to fix it. I couldn''t seem to get the "filter removal tool" to work and didn''t want to force (and break) it. I called the company and got a very nice woman on the phone who went out of her way and explained to me in detail how to fix it.

I''m going to post this information here so that others can find it.

To remove the filter: Lay the unit on its right side on a counter with a towel on it.

Insert the filter wrench to the groves on the bottom of the cannister. (after taking the base off)

Turn counter-clockwise to remove.

Inside you will find a rubber o-ring. (mine was not laid flat during installation)

Coat the o-ring with some cooking oil, just a tiny bit.

Slide the o-ring over the threaded end of the cannister, making sure it lies flat against the lip.

(not inside the cover)

Put the cannister cover back on snug, put the base of the unit back on.

Done! It was easy and no longer leaks! I hope this helps someone.

hooked it up, and the water flow was as thin as thread (no kidding). I called their technical support dept, they suggested i check incoming water pressure, i did (62Psi) more than enough, tank pressure 8 PSI ( i had to go buy a gauge) it was good. they finally determined the RO membrane was bad and sent me another ( charged me for it including freight, still waiting for a refund) after installing the new RO membrane the water was flowing great. But wait, it was flowing too fast now (2.5 GPM), a 100 gallon per day unit should make 4 gallons per hour. I knew something was wrong, I called again ( this was the third call) they said some valve must be malfunctioning, for me to bypass it. well i did & no luck. it came with a 3 gallon resivior and it never took a drop of water. every component had failed so far.

starting water test: 9.1ph. 500PPM

AFTER ro INSTALLED: 8.8ph, 460PPM

This excludes many half bathrooms or personal bathrooms from being able to handle the drain system since it''s designed to hook up to garbage disposal pipes. You will need to buy teflon tape for the pipe threads, the book says to wrap it 3 times but I stress to you to wrap it at least 6-8 times to start with to avoid sprays and leaks. I would actually recommend that you wrap all of your hose threading with teflon tape (everything that you unscrew should be wrapped 4-5 times even if it wasn''t taped before). the book recommends that you drill with a 1/8" drill bit then move up to a 1/4" drill bit, this worked for me and my drill died halfway through so I had to do it manually.

Works great. Installation was a little complicated but not too bad if you have a general knowledge of plumbing and working with "T" connectors. The hoses were supposed to be color coded but weren''t but wasn''t a big deal. Bottom line is a good result in the drinking water. I''ve only had it for about a month so far but so far so good.

The installation on this product was pretty straight forward. The only problem I find is when the water solonoid is turned on there is no "flow" control over the water going in to the humidifier media and there is a LOT of wasted water. After using this a month I found it DOUBLED my water bill because of all the wasted water down the drain. I have since disconnected this humidifer because I don''t need to spend that type of money going down the drain. It would be nice if there was some type of float device that would fill up and the meter the water in to the media and be used instead of pouring water down the drain.

We have had this for two years now. It worked well in the first year as we saw a significant reduction of static in the house in the winter. We saw a lot of water drain, just like the first reviewer. The second year did not go well as I noticed the fan running and no water flowing. I had to drain the water line and take apart the flow assembly to clean it to get the water to start to flow. It has been trickling and I have to say it is not running like it did in the first year. I''m trying to see if a little TLC might help it along and we get more use out of it.

I''ve done commercial and residential heating and air since ''97 and have installed literally 100s of these, maybe more. Truth be told there is no difference between this and the other powered humidifiers. They all work off the same principle. These are very easy to service and simple to install and are my favorite just because parts are easy to get. The media pads are available all over the web as well as most hardware stores.

As for the other reviews indicating the massive water waste, they are not installing this properly. Any central humidifier (as in mounted to a furnace) needs the control wires to be tied into the heating circuit on the control board. In fact, most newer furnaces if not all of them also have contacts for landing the 110V wires on so that it can only run during a heating cycle (usually marked "HUM"). Set up properly, this unit will not use that much water. Running this humidifier when the furnace is not in a heating cycle (not just the fan running, but actually heating) is a complete waste of power and waternot to mention how much faster you will wear out the pads.

We''ve had this unit for over 10 years, aside from changing the filter it''s been maintenance free. A proper installation will include a airflow microswitch that turns the on the fan and allows water flow only when the heater''s blower is on. If you don''t have this then your installation is not complete and you''ll waste a lot of water. During the spring and summer I unplug the unit, shut the water supply off to it and remove and clean the filter compartment which is easy to do.

During the winter when quests come over they all notice the lack of static electricity along with the fact the air just feels better and it''s easier to breathe.

When you first attach the PUR filter, it works beautifully. Water comes out fast, and comes out clean. But fairly soon, and well before the filter is supposedly used up, the filter cuts down on the flow as it gets more and more clogged. After a while it can take 30 seconds to fill up a glass of water. Ours also has a leakage problem that is exacerbated the more clogged the filter is (the leak comes from the plastic covering that tells you how used up the filter is)...Don''t know if ours is defective or if this is typical.

We have since bought a PUR pitcher filtration system, and that seems to be more convenient to use because you don''t have to sit there like a ... waiting for your glass to fill up.

PUR is superior to BRITA filters, by the way, because they also filter giardia and cryptosporidium, two bacteria that can cause intestinal illnesses. This is especially important if you live in areas with iffy water systems (i.e. St. Petersburg, Russia, which is full of giardia/Mexico) or if you have a weak immune system.

The PUR filters work out to about 25 cents per gallon of filtered water. It costs more to filter dirtier water and less to filter cleaner water.

When you finally throw out the used filter, try cracking it open and having a look at all the nasty gunk that you didn''t put into your body. It''s definitely worth the price, don''t you think?

The problem is with the design of this filtration system.
