Electrolux Jetmaxx Green Canister Vacuum Save 34% Off
My next disappointment was the swiveling arm, which by the way swivels like a dream, so I know they can make a good swivel (try putting it on the hose). I thought I would like this feature however I have found that it makes turning the power head very difficult. When I push the arm to the side instead of moving the head to the side it just swivels the arm. To actually change the direction of the head I have to pick it up turn it and put it back down again (this can get very tiring). Additionally since the hose is kinked all the time, it puts sideways pressure on the arm as a result I am constantly fighting to keep the arm vertical.
On last flaw regards how attachments attach to the arm. The power attachments have a very loose connection and will come off with just a little pressure. When vacuuming under the couch I have pulled the arm back out and found that the power attachment was left behind. We ordered this canister vacuum because we wanted a canister type vac for versatility, a bagged as opposed to bagless, and a pet hair attachment. The Jetmaxx seemed to have a lot of good features and the build quality is pretty good, but ultimately it fell too short of expectations to be a keeper.
After taking the Jetmaxx for a test drive against a Panasonic Optiflow, we noted the following positives and negatives:
Pros:
-Jetmaxx has a long 5-year warranty.
-HEPA filtration and included filter is washable.
-21'' retractable cord.
-Full bag indicator.
-Fairly quiet operation, especially with canister running only. Power nozzle definitely ups the decibels, but still not as loud as the Eureka Boss upright we were replacing.
-Good selection of included tools: wide, high quality bare floor brush, crevice tool, upholstery tool, and dusting brush.
-"Crush-proof" 7'' hose.
-Quality filters.
-Convenient dust bag basket.
-Dust bags have a tab you can pull over the hole once the bag is full to seal the dust/dirt from blowing out when it''s time to change to a new bag.
-Slots for accessories, such as the bare floor brush.
-Automatic height adjustment of power nozzle. Not totally sure how well this worked in terms of proper suction, but seemed kinda nice to not have to worry about what height you need to set the power nozzle to.
-Compatible with EL8BS2 Electrolux One Pet Hand Powerbrush Accessory.
Cons:
-Dust bag is tiny @ 1.2 quarts. While the bag technically has a capacity of up to 2 quarts (the same bag is used on other models which have larger compartments), the basket this bag sits in constricts its full capacity to just the 1.2 quarts.
-Dust bag quality is questionable. This vacuum comes with two bags and when we attempted to remove the first one from the basket for initial inspection, the cardboard tab easily separated from the bag.
-While the hose may be crush-proof, it''s also very stiff compared to a more traditional wire-reinforced hose. This means the hose gets in your way more and reduces the overall maneuverability of the vacuum when using the power nozzle.
-Poor handle design/placement. The handle on this vacuum is placed in-line with the hose and wand. We found that vacuums with the handle placed above the hose/wand connections provided more leverage and increased overall maneuverability of the vacuum, and ultimately a more pleasant vacuuming experience. Each time my wife and I tested this vacuum, we noticed the Jetmaxx was more grueling to "drive" and couldn''t imagine wanting to put up with it for the next several years.
-Despite what is suggested by the photo here on Amazon, the EL8BS2 Electrolux One Pet Hand Powerbrush Accessory is *NOT* included when you buy this vacuum from Amazon. It is included on some other sites, but note the increase in price. Just be warned that if you buy it from Amazon, you''ll have to buy this tool separately.
-I think there was a slot to store one tool on the outside of the canister, but overall, there''s no dedicated compartment for tool storage as there is on most other canister vacuums. However, the crevice tool and dusting brush do snap into the underside of the handle area.
-Overall suction and amount of dirt and pet hair picked up by this vacuum seemed to just be so-so.
At the end of the day, it became clear that although this vac seemed to have solid build quality and a good warranty, it would not be a keeper mainly due to the small dust bag size and because over the overall poor maneuverability. We ended up going with the hard-to-find Electrolux Ultrasilencer Delux, which has sealed HEPA filtration and a better designed handle. Our second best choice was the Panasonic "OptiFlow" Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Twight Green, MC-CG917, which I highly recommend if you have a smaller budget.

i haven''t had any problems with this vacuum. i bought it to replace a two year old sears kenmore, which was an expensive clunker that fell apart, so we decided to buy a cheap canister. bought this in sam''s club for around 250.00. and fell in love with it from the first day. the suction is terrific, The hose is a bit stiff and does fight you and it could swivel better, but the canister stays put on the floor and follows you well. The attachments are easy to get to, easy to get on and off. The vac.just does the job like a good little elf. i''ve had this for about four months now and actually enjoy using it. far superior to the big, pricey kenmore. smaller but just as powerful. the brush head is great. very wide, so it covers a large area an easy to get under furniture. i am planning to get another one for upstairs to replace that kenmore. i highly recc. this item.Read Best Reviews of Electrolux Jetmaxx Green Canister Vacuum Here
I love my vacuum!I have four parrots, so the first test was running the carpet head over their "spills", it made a totally clean path trough it with no seeds, crumbs, pellets and what not coming back out and hitting my legs, nor spraying out the side. It''s a first, and I have had many other vacuums. I tried it around the Christmas tree, and it just sucked up those pesky sticky pine needles, without clogging the brush or hose. Then I tried it on my hardwood floors, and it got every little piece of dirt from there too. What I have done before is to go over them with my regular vacuum, and then use my little Swiffer vacuum to get all the fine stuff that always was left behind... No more! :D
I saw that some people have problems with the hose kinking and the canister tipping. I can''t say that I have experienced the same. The hose swivels like a dream, and the canister stays upright the whole time. Nor do I have problems with the power tool coming off, like I saw some customers comment upon.
The reason for me finally deciding upon an Electrolux was that I remember being a small child (some 45 years ago) and my mom had an old Electrolux canister vacuum. As it was getting up in age my brother got her a new non-Electolux pretty expensive vacuum. I think it was a Panasonic. Well, she tried it, got rid of it and went back to using her then already old Electrolux. I know she had hers for over 35 years. I don''t know if mine will last as long, probably not, but that''s not really the point. It''s that I also remembered her saying that her new "fancy" vacuum, did not clean nearly as well as her old trusted Elecrolux.
I only wish that it came with a stair attachment.....I purchased this vacuum a few months ago and can honestly say I really enjoy cleaning with this vacuum and I do not like vacuuming. It has powerful suction and cleans bare floors, wood floors and carpets very well. I did lots of research before purchasing this vacuum. I needed one that was not too heavy as my old kenmore was as I have to carry it upstairs and one that was good on carpets, as I have a dog. So far, it has been fine. The bare floor brush is wider than the one on my kenmore, which can create issues for manuevering around items at times, but it can also help get the job done quicker as well. The hose is a bit thin and can get twisted at times, but I really haven''t had major issues with this and it has not caused the vacuum to tip. There is no on board storage for all the attachments, just a few of them. This may help to keep the weight down. I got this at my local BJ''s for about $350. I am happy with my purchase.

Installed it around April, works great. No leaks. Water tastes great. Filter is very easy to replace. Flow is good.Diverted did stop to spring back after a while, but it does not bother me too much. It does not cause any leaks and does not cause any inconvenience. In fact, I like it that it stays in "filter" position even after I turn the water off: if I want to switch it to tap water, I just push the pin in.
Highly recommended.

The replacement was easily accomplished. The water quality does for some reason taste a little better than the original filter that came with the unit, but this could all be in my head. The quality of water is still better than ordinary tap, and with a small fridge we cannot sacrifice space with a large filter pitcher. Was looking at filtering systems but being in a rental options are limited. Sticking with this faucet attachment filter for the time being.Replaces the water filter that comes with the stock filter that comes with the FM-25. Pretty much what I expected,Bodum Chambord 8 cup French Press Coffee Maker
My caffiene overdose aside, this press produces the best coffee I have ever had at home, and it truly rivals or surpasses coffee I''ve had at coffee houses. It''s slightly more involved than using an automatic maker, but not difficult at all. The unit itself is pretty sturdy, and looks lovely.
French press coffee is a great alternative to using those smaller 1-2 cup automatic drip makers. Being single, I''ve gone through my share of those, and the coffee they make alway seems about ten times worse than the coffee from a normal-sized drip maker. If you like to make a large pot of coffee and drink it throughout the morning, I would suggest picking up a good quality carafe or thermos to keep the coffee warm.
Pros:
-Best tasting coffee you''ll ever have at home, period.
-Strong, full bodied flavor
-Pretty easy to prepare
-Impress your friends with your snobby european coffee-making ways :) (looks good on your counter too)
-Great for making small amounts of coffee, for one or two people.
-Priced about the same as a ho-hum auto drip coffee maker with no extra bells and whistles, yet makes coffee a million times better.
Cons:
-More cleanup than using a automatic drip maker
-No heating element to keep coffee warm. Use a thermos/carafe if you want to sip several cups over a few hours.
8-cup capacity is based on a 4oz beverage size. Not really a "con" but something you should be aware of. If you had a large group you were making coffee for, it might get a little tedious to be constantly making a fresh batch of coffee.
Couple other notes: Coarsely ground coffee is recommended. This is no problem for people that already buy whole bean and grind their own, but it will be an extra step for some people. Also, I recommend picking up an Aerolatte milk frother if you want to make truly effortless cappuchino. I find that there''s plenty of time to warm some milk in the microwave and froth it up while the coffee brews for 4 mintues. A $20 Aerolatte milk frother + $24 french press = coffeehouse coffee at home, whenever you want it. That''s really a tiny investment for coffeehouse quality java!
I also purchased a smaller 1-cup Bodum press to take to work. Tomorrow I plan to smile smugly while my co-workers chug down the crap that comes out of the Bunn machine. If my boss is really nice, I may let him use it too. Maybe.I previously owned a (much) smaller version of this press, which made an excellent cup of coffee. But that was the problem. It only made a CUP of coffee. I usually have two, and what if others want coffee? It takes a while, going one cup at a time.
Needless to say, I upgraded to this larger press, which makes about 3 times more coffee. It makes the best coffee ever I could never go back to a junky old drip coffee maker after this. Yeah, it''s more work than a drip coffee maker, but really, would you rather have quick, easy coffee that tastes bad, or a delicious cup of coffee that takes 5 minutes more?
Using this is like steeping tea you boil some water, grind some coffee beans (I hope you''re grinding your own coffee beans!) and pour the water over the coffee grounds to let them steep for 4 minutes. Then you push the knob down, which filters delicious coffee into the water and leaves the grounds at the bottom of your pot. Then, voila! You''ve got about 3 cups of yummy coffee, depending on to what extent you water your cup down with cream and sugar.
If you''re one of those people who just CAN''T WAIT for their coffee, you''d be better off getting a typical drip coffee maker. But if you love coffee, and want it to taste as good as it possibly can, you have to buy this press.

A french press is one of the best methods of brewing coffee at home. I have never liked the "drip method" machines like Mr Coffee which, in my opinion, produce a very bland cup of coffee. Some reviews have mentioned the extra effort involved in comparison to a drip machine. This really is not a big issue. You have to boil the water separately and remember to press the plunger down when the coffee has finished brewing. The clean up is about the same. Some tips for getting the most out of this machine. Always use coarsely ground coffee. I''ve found a 9 second burst with my grinder works best. You''ll have to experiment. I also gently shake the grinder while using it. This results in a more even grind. With this approach I have very little sediment in my final cup.
Allow the boiled water to cool for a minute before adding to the grounds. This seems to produce a less bitter cup. Finally, stir the grounds and water with a chopstick or similar. Let the coffee brew, then press the plunger down *slowly*.
If making more than one cup per person, store the extra in a vacuum flask. The coffee cools very quickly if left in the press.
Always clean your grinder. Oils accumulate very quickly resulting in increasingly bitter coffee.

A friend loaned me this great coffee press. It''s the best coffee brewing system I''ve found, but more time consuming to use and clean up. Please note also that 8 cups is wildly optimistic. That''s four-ounce cups. I real life, you get about two good 10-12 ounce mugs of coffee. At the time I ordered, the item was described on Amazon as having a glass beaker, but the one I received was plastic.
Some may prefer this because it''s unbreakable; I was disappointed. I specifically wanted the glass one because I trying to avert plastic''s that might leech chemicals into food. The plastic version also differed in that filter screen was held together with some plastic components, whereas the glass version uses all metal parts (with the exception of the lid).
I ended up returning the item (which sours the whole on-line shopping experience) and buying a glass version at a local retailer instead. One where I could verify I was getting the glass version that I desired. I''m very happy with it and use it daily.
So, if you want to order this item from Amazon, please double-check that your getting what you want.

Anyone who says a drip coffee maker is easier and faster is A) Lazy, B) wrong, and C) NEVER cleans their Mr. Coffee! This is a GREAT thing ... makes GREAT tasting coffee with none of the bitterness of a dirty Mr. Coffee ... and takes just a minute to clean up. If you love coffee, buy this! The coffee REALLY tastes MUCH better and cleanup is really NOT bad!
Simply boil or microwave the exact amount of water you want, pour in your coarse ground coffee, pour in the HOT water, stir and wait a few minutes (the longer you wait, the stronger it will be), press the bugger down, and drink a GREAT cup of coffee.
BTW Most coffee makers CANNOT get the water hot enough to brew quality coffee and release all of the flavors. This does not have that problem since you pour boiling water over the grounds.

I searched for years to figure out how to filter out all the chemicals, metals, bacteria, prescription medications, ect. that is contaminating the municipal drinking water. This is it. The filtration process in this unit alone is probably enough to filter out most everything from the city drinking water, but even better; since the water you''ll be drinking comes from the humidity, none of that junk is there to begin with.
The higher the humidity level in your area, the quicker and more efficiently it will make water.
It took a while to get the new appliance smell out of the drinking water but after that, the water coming from it was, without a doubt, the cleanest tasting drinking water I''ve ever tasted. My friend told me it was like drinking snow and I know it''s even better than that.
However, I speak of the unit in past tense because currently I am not using it. Unfortunately, I let mine sit for quite some time and mold grew in the collection tank. The unit cycles the water to keep it purified, but when there is enough mold growing it just can''t be filtered well enough and it mold gets in your glass.
For this reason, I had originally planned to rate this appliance with four stars. But to downplay such an amazing piece of equipment because of my own neglect is arrogantly ignorant. So my suggestion: Use it and follow the recommended cleaning instructions.
If I could make one improvement to this machine it would be to have an option to keep the unit on but be able to turn off the water production.

I bought this incredible machine a couple of years ago. Yes, it produces incredibly pure, great drinking water, filtering out ALL contaminants, including fluoride and chlorine.BUT, I have become very frustrated with this machine every time I have changed the filters, it leaks. Even though I have become quite good at changing filters and making sure they are very tightly connected, I still get leaks. It has happened over and over. I fix one leak, and another crops up.
The latest hassle is another leak that has occurred when I replaced the bottom tank. This time, I cannot figure out where the leak is coming from. It is not from the bottom tank, or from the front filters. It is coming from somewhere inside, and to find it, I will have to start taking apart the machine. Well, actually I will not be taking apart the machine, because I''ve pretty much had it. If I find this leak, I know another will occur in the near future.
I believe the bottom tank actually did not have to be replaced (which ecoloblue replaced for free), but in phone conversations with technical support, it seemed that the problem I was having at the time was due to a clog somewhere in the bottom tank. And that is part of the problem all they can do is give advice based on phone conversations. No one is there to actually fix the machine. And you can''t send it in for repairs because it is huge and heavy. So you are stuck fixing it yourself.
In my humble opinion, this machine was not thoroughly tested for long periods of time before going to market. OK, there''s a chance that I am the only one having these problems, but I highly doubt it. Anyway, I have given up on this machine, and will now use some other filtration system, such as Berkey, or even delivery of water. I think this machine needs a complete overhaul and redesign to make it feasible for people to use it in their homes.
The support people are very nice and patient, but there has been an element of frustration there, I think partly stemming from the complete lack of a good manual that goes with this machine, resulting in my complete ignorance in how the machine actually works. I was told when I got the machine that the manual that came with it was going to be updated that was at least a couple years ago, and there still is not an updated manual. So you basically have to figure out how to connect the filters yourself. The current manual does have some explanations, but most of the manual is not usable.
Because of these very frustrating problems, I would caution anyone considering it about my experience, and do not recommend this product to anyone until they can iron out the kinks. If I didn''t have these leaking/clog problems, I would have given this machine 5 stars.

I''ve had my machine nearly a year now and can say it exceeded my expectations. It provides low maintenance free clean drinking water just as it says, and there is no problem creating 7 gallons of drinking water a day if you use that much. With that written, the only downside of this machine is Ecoloblue''s manual and lack of sound instructions for maintenance. They seem to make it far too complex then it is.Ecoloblue simply needs to put up YouTube videos on how to assemble their filters, replacement and general issues. If they did that it would make their customers'' lives a whole lot easier. There''s a one month cleaning schedule and three month filter replacement schedule (as well as a 6 month filter and 2 year replacement for other types of filters).
The filters are inexpensive. One more note is Ecoloblue is really a good company for helping its customers deal with their questions. Someone will walk you through the process on the phone, and others will offer to come to your house if you''re within a reasonable distance from their headquarters. They''re customer service is really good and you can rely on this company, they''re not all about money but care about the unique and revolutionary quality of their product to change the world.

We just returned from a visit with my husband''s sisters. They had recently purchased this machine and we were SO impressed with the sweet, pure, great-tasting water it produces and I am VERY picky about the taste of water. We had planned to install a whole-house reverse osmosis system, but I think we will purchase one of these instead. The best water I have ever tasted!I got this machine to help with the go green effort around the globe. it has exceeded my expectations. It makes water from the atmosphere! from the humidity. Only plug it in and it makes water. cold and hot. you don''t need to hook it up to a water line or anything. so you can virtually put it anywhere. And i have stopped buying containers with waters. So, I''m saving the earth and some money!I would recommend this product to anyone!
Vitapur VWD5446BLS Full Size Water Dispenser
This past summer the heater stopped working. (the connection to the element appears to be corroded and was making poor contact and now the contact is completely burned off).
The final straw is that the cooler stays on and freezes the water in the reservoir to a solid block of ice.
I would leave the whole thing on the curve tonight for garbage pickup but it''s got freon in it so I have to take it to the local hazardous waste disposal.
It is a shame the design & build quality is so poor, the machine is attractive looking and was exactly what we were looking for.I purchased this dipenser about 2 weeks ago and returned it. This dispenser do not have hot water automaticlly, you would need to press a hot instant buttom to boil it, and it only gives you almost one cup. also if you boil it and not use, it will cool down, you have to reboil, it takes about a min to 3 mins to boil.

To bad you can''t rate this with minus 5 stars...had to give it a (1)star. Purchased a Vitapur water dispenser a few weeks ago. Like other reviewers stated, their patiented "hot" water system, and I use the term ''hot'' loosely, will only provide a cup of hot water in about 3 minutes. It is not a constant hot water dispenser like others I had, and the cold water even on max is not much over room temperature, and again not much over a cup at a time without having the machine re-chill. It has no on/off switches, and the water jug piercing spindle for standard water jugs is longer than most, with holes only on the top of the spindle so even though the water jug is empty the cap "well" is left with water standing that needs to be removed with a towel because if you place a new water jug in, when it seats, water splashes up and over the sides and surroundings. It may be stylish, but no where near fuunctional if your looking to have instant hot water and cold water like conventional multi-temperature dispensers. Might as well use a microwave or coffee pot to heat water...it''s quicker! My recommendation is don''t waste your money like I did and stay away from this water dispenser. I''m now looking for a different 3 temperature water dispenser,.... to return it to Greenway/Vitapur would cost me about $100 between restocking fees and shipping.

We use this machine in an office with 13 people and frequent guests. With a Zero Water filtration system it produces a lot of water every day. The instant hot feature makes it much more efficient than a machine that keeps water hot all the time.Water is ok to load and is hot or cold. It does take time to switch to hot and the buttons to do so are tricky. Overall it is an ok machine.Cuisinart DGB500BK Grind & Brew
The positive: It does what it''s supposed to do, most of the time.
Cons:
It''s a real pain to clean. There are six parts to clean after every pot of coffee. The worst is the two-piece grinder assembly. Due to the complete absence of venting and valving, by the end of the brew the entire grinder assembly is soaking wet from condensed water vapor. This means it is coated with a fine mud of pulverized coffee. The grinder assembly has plenty of annoying nooks and crannies; cleaning it means standing there with a few paper towels, jamming them into the crevices to get the old coffee out. After that, you have to clean the filter holder, the filter holder lid, the pot itself, and the pot lid. The pot lid is annoying, requiring two hands to remove I usually drop it once a day or so.
Fit and finish. Once you''ve passed the plastic parts through the dishwasher once, they never fit quite right again. About once a month, the filter holder pops out during brewing, spilling hot coffee all over my kitchen counter and floor; the cleanup from this invariably scatters wet grounds everywhere.
The machine ships with one tiny charcoal filter. Once it''s done, where do you get another one? I don''t bother; I just use Brita-filtered water to begin with.
The hot water jets out onto one spot, drilling a hole in the grounds, and then quickly fills up the flat-bottomed filter holder, floating the grounds and making a soup which then slowly drains. This isn''t the optimal way to extract coffee.
Bottom line it does what it''s supposed to, most of the time. Bad design, however, shows itself in the areas of cleaning, brewing, and operation (including occasional kitchen disasters.) I''m in the market for a different unit. After being a long term Krups owner (my Krups carafe broke after 12 yrs of dutiful service), I recently purchased a 12 cup Cuisinart Grind & Brew. I always thought my old 10 cup Krups made a decent cup of coffee when using freshly ground beans. I initially shopped for a replacement Krups.
To me, the newer Krups models seemed flimsier than my 12 yr old model. The round carafe seemed problematic (and i''ve read that it is problematic.)
So I eyed the Cuisinart. I selected this Grind and Brew model because i was tired of getting coffee grounds all over my floor every day. It was a terrific decision.
Cuisinart has made the total "set it and forget it machine." At night I put my whole beans in with water that Cuisinart kindly filters and in the morning I get a fantastic cup of coffee.
I ONLY MENTION THIS ONE POINT: The machine has a "1-4" cup setting that will make sure the coffee is HOT when making small amounts. The manual says use this feature when making 4 or less cups. I use this feature every day when brewing my regular 6 cups. The coffee is and stays piping hot.
The machine seems to have many parts but it''s quite easy to clean. The charcoal filter in the water reserve is a plus. And the automatic shut off can be adjusted 1 4 hours.
The manual is easy to read and understand. I''m completely "machine phobic" but found the Cuisinart Grind and Brew easy to program, operate and clean.
I''ve used this machine for several events so far and have gotten rave reviews for taste and quality of the coffee.
I hope to have this machine longer than my Krups!! I LOVE IT.

This is a great machine if you enjoy weak coffee. My wife prefers a strong cup however, and she seems barely satisfied with the results I am getting by filling the hamper with dark-roasted beans to make only eight cups of coffee. In theory you can make 12 cups of coffee with this machine, but they are 12 rather weak cups, which is fine for many people, myself included. There is a bit more cleaning involved in setting this contraption up every night to produce freshly ground beans in the morning than there is when you grind your own beans the night before. Although I am not a particularly fastidious person I find I enjoy the process however. At the risk of stating the obvious: the reason you buy this machine is so the grinding happens automatically immediately before the coffee is brewed, first thing in the morning, before you''ve had your first cup of coffee. If that isn''t worth a little extra effort each evening before going to bed, or if you don''t mind getting up and grinding beans and brewing your coffee first thing in the morning, then there is no reason to buy a "grind and brew" machine in the first place.
You certainly would not want to buy this coffee maker for use in an office kitchen, for example, or anywhere else where you might want to make more than just one pot early in the morning.

We''ve owned this machine for about 1 1/2yrs and bought them as gifts for two couples last fall. Having run this same coffeemaker over 400+ times, I would like to rebut some of the complaints often seen here.[Electrical problems} None of us have ever had or heard of the hot plate problems I saw mentioned. It could have been damaged at any point of the shipping & handling process. As for the "friend" having the exact same problem, if the problem is so prevalent then why are they getting a new replacement from Quisinart?
[Cleaning] I hate to break the shocking news but..... you do have to clean your coffee maker. Yes this unit has a few extra parts. That''s because it has more functions, which is the reason we bought them in the first place. Every part is removable or accessible and therefore, cleanable. One reviewer in particular complained vehemently about the cleaning and then mentioned switching to a vacuum pot which has even more parts than a grind & brew!?
[Components] One most often mentioned is the slide out filter basket. It is on a rail system that can get gunked up when moisture and bean dust combine. So here''s a simple solution: vegetable oil and a Q-Tip. Apply it to the rails and voila! It slides out like a dream for 1 1/2yrs and counting.
The reasonable price, extra features & functions and its space saving design make for a sensible choice if a grind & brew machine is what you are in the market for. If a coffeehouse quality cup of coffee is what you want, you''ll have it.
I just get the feeling alot of people are just too busy to be bothered by having to clean and maintain. If that''s the case and you were smart enough to research first, don''t but it.

I carefully read all the Amazon reviews for this machine before I purchased it last month. I was sold on the grind & brew concept and I ignored the complaints that the grinder was hard to clean and also produced a mess that was the result of the steam getting back up into the grinder. I wish I paid attention! After one month, I am returning the machine to Bed, Bath & Beyond tomorrow. I faithfully cleaned the coffee maker every night but was unable to effectively clean out the mechanism that releases the basket. After just a few weeks, the coffee mess clogged up the drawer slides, making it almost impossible to get the coffee basket out. I read in other reviews here of people using steak knives to try to clean it out, since the mnufacturer failed to make this job easy. This is an inherent design flaw in the coffee maker and it should be pulled from the market. I emailed Cuisinart about this problem and they have failed to respond. I did look into the Melitta Mill & Brew coffee maker, and according to the Amazon reviews this problem is not evident. In fact, most of the reviews there are 5 stars.
I just ordered the Melitta Mill & Brew tonight and it looks promising that I will not have the same nightmare I experienced with Cuisinart. Heed my words, you will regret buying this model!
6" Scale Inhibitor & Carbon Filter
I was supposed to use a different brand, but when I seen this one I thought is give it a shit. Glad I did!
Ge 12-cup Digital Coffee Maker
A first note is that this is a later model than the recalled unit anything on the shelves now will be, so perspective buyers shouldn''t need to worry about that.
The machine does exactly what it should: it brews a regular pot of standard strength coffee in eight minutes, as it promises. I also tried the gourmet mode. I thought at first that it would be a gimmick, but it actually makes a different cup of coffee. The regular brew cycle makes your "general drinking, keep it coming, restaurant style" coffee, while the gourmet mode (which uses more grounds and less water, brews at higher power, and therefore is faster to brew) makes the connoisseur style, stronger coffee for after dinner or for the morning after a good party the style of coffee for which you would buy premium beans. I do use premium beans, and I was extremely happy with its performance in that mode too.
A note about strength: if you''re replacing a older, slower machine, you might notice your first pot being weak, and that you need slightly more coffee grounds than you did with the slower machine. That makes sense, because it brews faster, like it should. The advantage is that you''ll get a "cleaner" cup less bitter so it''ll be worth it. I quickly adjusted by the second pot. I use an electric grinder with a timer, so it was easier to lengthen the time slightly issue resolved.
A note about the nylon filter might be helpful. A nylon mesh cannot be as fine as a paper filter, so you will get a little silt in the carafe (in both modes). Like many coffee lovers, I actually like a little sediment in my coffee it makes it more complex and wholesome in my opinion but if you don''t, simply allow it to settle for a couple of minutes before serving, pour gently as as not to stir up the sediment, and don''t pour right to the bottom of the carafe. Alternatively, use paper filters. I would not use regular paper filters with the gourmet mode, as the higher flow rate may overwhelm the finer filter. I understand "B" (the folks who make pour-over type brewers) make a paper filter for fast brew machines like theirs that should work well in this product, though I haven''t tried them yet. I also wouldn''t advocate the use of paper filters with the nylon filter you might slow the water flow and overflow the machine.
The handy splash shield that pops up when you open the water reservoir lid does what it should helps the water go where it should (and not down the back of the unit) if access to the top of the your unit is limited by cupboard space, etc.
The carafe has a comfortable handle, and does not drip under normal use. Any adult of coffee drinking age ought to have sufficiently developed motor skills to pour from a lip-spouted vessel. If you do spill, it''s not the fault of the carafe. Hold the carafe such that you pour out of the center-line of the spout and not the side, and it will do exactly what it''s supposed to do.
The black finish of the product is not the hard, shiny plastic we''re used to, so some might call it cheap. On the other hand it has a nice non-slip quality to it, so the machine is easy to move around safely, for example while washing the outside.
The display is back-lit an exuberant blue subtlety is not a word that comes to mind here but the color is pleasant, and the brightness is uniform so it doesn''t glare. You certainly won''t need another nightlight in your kitchen, though! The buttons on the panel light up blue when active, and some of the blue light from the display bleeds across to the on/off and auto buttons on either side of it when they are off (this confused my wife briefly), but you soon figure it out, and it''s not a problem in any sense: in fact the spill-over actually helps you locate those buttons in dim light, so I consider it a feature!
The basket assembly comes out for easy cleaning no problems there.
The unit does not blow steam any more than any other coffee maker (it''s going to vent a little it boils water, so it''s bound to), so it won''t damage the underside of face of your cabinets.
The unit gives a happy little "beep-beep" when coffee is ready. It has auto shut-off which you can set for 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes, which I find very handy: if you live in shame as a "closet coffee reheater" like we do, it''s handy to set the time to 30 minutes so you don''t stew the coffee. Then you can "nuke" a cup in the early afternoon and not be disappointed. Lesser machines have a standard 2 hour timeout which, if they keep coffee hot enough to drink for that long, will stew it too. The "TSB" ("time since brew") button tells you how long your coffee has been sitting on the hot plate, in case you didn''t use the timer to start it. Oh, and the timer? You set it for the time you want the coffee to be ready, not the time it should turn on, so you don''t have to do complex arithmetic at bedtime!
A note for the guys: I know we don''t normally do this, but do read the instructions the features will make it worth it.
Only negative? I''d have liked a nicer finish and slightly heavier, more robust plastic parts, but it''s in line with what the market offers these days at this price range, and I have no regrets.
As a final comment, after returning home after a business trip this week, my wife commented unsolicited "I''m glad we bought this coffee maker". I guess we''re keeping it, then :-)Bought at Walmart for 19.95 or close to that. Have made twenty or more half full pots of coffee. Not the slowest brewer of this type that I have ever used, but not very fast. Good tasting coffee. I thought the little charcoal filters were a good idea and probably helped the taste compared to our previous brewer. However, the only place I could find the replacement filters was through Amazon and their cost (with shipping) was higher than an angry cat''s back. After about two weeks, one of the little tangs that hold the flapping lid in the carafe slot broke for no apparent reason. So now the lid comes off easily. Poor design or quality control on that lid in my opinion. If you can find something with better recommendations for same price or only $10 more I suggest you buy the something else.

purchased at store. ran water through as recommended when new, then ran coffee through. very smooth tasting, nice and hot. 4 cups/4 small scoops. (using the included large/small scoop) Nice features. Not slow like other say. Sounds like a coffee maker when brewing, never heard a quiet one. only issue I have had is some very tiny coffee grounds got through the filter (preground coffee), I typically grind my own and use the coarse setting, if I use preground coffee I will use a paper filter. This Coffee maker is the best product I have used in years. Very quick and fast with great taste. Its compact enough and the filter is seated below in the back inside the water. A must have. It also has a matching toaster.I bought this coffee maker because of the automatic shut off feature as well because it does not require filters. It worked good for the first few months but I did notice a large amount of steam and I had to move it almost to the edge of my counter so it would not warp my cabinets. Then I noticed it started leaking a little when I took the pot out from under the drip. When I went to wipe the coffee off some of the coating came off of the warming plate. Then it started shutting off during the brew. I looked up the error and it said I needed to run a cleaning cycle. Now, since the cleaning cycle, it turns off after only brewing for 30 seconds, then I''ll turn it back on and it will brew very slowly until there is 2 cups left in the reservoir. This whole process takes about 20 minutes for me to get 1 cup of coffee that takes awful. I am throwing this out and hopefully getting something else tomorrow.Sharp AF-S125RX 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner

Only had the unit for one day. Installation was easy but the window mounting accordion sidings are kind of flimsy. Also there is a design flaw in that the bottom of the unit has a grooved portion protruding right where the unit is suppose to sit in the window. This causes it not to be completely flush with the bottom of the window sill by maybe 1/4 inch at most. But this opening was enough for me to feel air from the outside rushing in and I''m sure its enough to allow bugs and spiders to crawl inside. I''ll probably close it off with some all purpose silicon or something. Beside that the air blows nice and cold and for $249 at Costco its a good price comparatively.Read Best Reviews of Sharp AF-S125RX 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner Here
I have the Costco version of this AC. It is cooling a top (4th) floor, ca. 300-350sf apartment in Boston. The apartment faces North and West and gets a lot of sun. This unit evaporates most of its condensate very few drips reach the ground an older 5K BTU unit dripped almost continuously. It kept up fine with the hottest day we''re likely to get in Boston (100F, 55% RH), running continuously during the hottest part of the day at a 68F thermostat setting, translating to 72-74F throughout the apartment, at 40-45% RH. It''s worked great for the two months I''ve had it. Two possible downsides: 1) The filter doesn''t catch everything I have a down comforter that sheds, and I find down in the fins, behind the filter. 2) Unlike many ACs, it doesn''t have a dehumidification mode, which could be useful in Spring/Fall. For $250 it''s a deal, and I would purchase it again.Want Sharp AF-S125RX 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner Discount?
I have been using this air conditioner now for 1 month and it does the job. I especially like the energy save setting for night time. It is a bit noisy but they all are and it was not as easy to install as advertised but it cools well.CRYSTAL QUEST® Whole House Triple 10" x 5.0" Water Filter System

I live in a city with hard water, so this filter is working very good provided the conditions. These CS-52 replacement filters work fine and are a good value; there''s no reason to pay full retail. The only oddity with this purchase is that the filter normally "snaps" into place to let you know it is installed correctly this one did not. It''s the correct model number and it still works fine (no problem with leaks) but I was a little frustrated when I could not get it to snap into place like previous filters.Best price I could find! To be honest, I had difficulty finding this product. With amazon, it was quick and easy and delivered in two days. A very good cleaner for vinyl siding; easy to use and really cuts into the dirt. First time using I''d buy a second bottle to ensure you get the whole job done as you''ll go through it pretty quickly. But if you''ve ever used it before on whatever your cleaning, a bottle per the square footage on the instructions should be good enough.Read Best Reviews of KRUD KUTTER ES32H Exterior Siding Cleaner Here
It seemed to do a very basic cleaning getting quite a bit of the mold and gunk up. It did not get everything up, but I don''t know what I was expecting from a spray on cleaner. But it did loosen up quite a bit for easy cleaning later.Works as it says. Need to use a good scrub long handled brush with it but the siding really perked up with this.I followed the directions and product did not preform like I had hoped. I used both bottles on the side of a 24X12 shed and the product did very little to nothing on the mildew.iSpring 75GPD 6-Stage Reverse Osmosis Alkaline PH Water Filter System Save 35% Off

I have also called the seller several times during normal business hours to speak with a representative, always an answering machine. Try calling 123 Filter... no one answers the phone, however the Seller did tell me in an email that they try to return "some" phone calls.
Just received the email response to my aforementioned request for the currently advertised Free Upgrade listed on Amazon from 123 Filter, it reads.....Thanks for your email. The free upgrade is not available since last month. Sorry that we did not updatae our listing in time and made you confused.
Their listing didn''t make me confused, it "clearly" stated Free Upgrade. So, 123 Filter admits to advertising the product as I claimed they did in their email to me. I purchased their advertised product in good faith, and they sent me a different product. I just checked the Amazon website and the Free Upgrade has now been quickly removed by 123 Filter. Nice. I will definitely NEVER buy from 123 Filter again as they have demonstrated an unethical business practice. The correct way to handle the situation would be to admit their error, which they did, and fill the order as advertised to the customer at the time of purchase...not tell the customer that they are confused by 123 Filters false advertising and blame the customer for misunderstanding what 123 Filter advertised in clear black and white print at the time of purchase. That''s known as bait and switch.
UPDATE: Now I received an email from Pearl at 123 Filter stating that if I "insist" on the upgrade they will send it to me. Insist? I just want what they advertised, what I purchased in good faith and what I should have received in the first place. Why do I have to insist on receiving that which I purchased from this company? They can keep it I won''t buy any replacement filters from this company and would "much" rather purchase an entire new unit from a company that answers their phones, automatically makes things right for their customers, and has a warranty longer than 1 year on their product. That''s the only thing I insist on doing. I also question whether they write their own product and seller reviews, as I see that many reviewers, have no other reviews on any other products. I will stay far away.
UPDATE: 123 Filter has responded to my seller rating by again stating there was confusion (again, there was no confusion on my part..I purchased what actually had advertised on Amazon at the time of my purchase, and they sent me something different, so there is a lack of ethical business practice demonstrated here, but the only confusion is they don''t want to honor the product they advertised to customers, at least in my situation). They say they offered me a credit but I refused, not accurate as I didn''t refuse, I chose to not respond to their email and take my business elsewhere. The 4 gallon tank they advertised, and which I purchased and paid for in good faith, runs about $60, 123 Filter offered me a measly $15 credit. That''s fair, right? Anyway, I gave away this system away to a neighbor now, and purchased a better highly rated Artesian system made in the US, not China. At least I have the peace of mind knowing that I never have to deal with this ridiculousness again, as I would be fearful of ordering advertised replacement filters and not having a clue what 123 Filter might actually send me.

The actual system works well, our water went from 550 PPM to 60 PPM, plus or minus. The number would be lower if the water supply had gone through a water softner system first. The water in Peoria is very hard..My issue is with the directions. I admit this was the 1st install of
a R/O system for myself. The directions, though detailed in some aspects,
were not in a logical order. Maybe it is the difference in culture between
the writer of the directions, and myself. Anyway, in the end, it all came
together.

WOW!!! What an amazing purchase this has been for my family!!! The value of having pure drinking water right at my own home is priceless. Before purchasing the iSpring Drinking System, I used to buy 4 x 5 gallon water containers from "Glacier dispenser" per week. That''s a monthly total of $24. That does not include the cost of gas and "my back". I used to carry those 5 gallon containers to my 3rd floor condo!!! I can payoff my investment in a year and that includes the filter cost. I cannot even think about the hassle/suffering I have experienced before this purchase. I am so glad I have found this item in here at amazon. Here are the reasons why this is the best deal:
1. High quality, 6 stage drinking system, I was amazed by the taste and purity of this water system.
2. Easy installation, I would consult a plumber for advice, if you are a beginner.
3. Best bang for the buck. (If you don''t believe me do your research)
4. Filters arrive sealed, RO membrane vacuum sealed.
5. Very competitive price on replacement filters.
My Recommendations:
1. Do not hesitate to buy because of the looks of their main website!(Product is Very High Quality)
2. Install it yourself if your confident enough!!! You will get familiar with your system.
3. Get the motor!!! (Its worth it, it will fill the tank faster than regular model)
4. Make sure you have enough room under the sink.
5. Prepare to make couple of trips to home depot. It took me 2 trips.
6. Take a picture of your cold water source under the sink and take to home depot for advice.
7. Hire a plumber if your not confident enough. Make sure you read the manual for maintenance.
8. This system has automatic flush function, manual says find the "flush valve" turn on/off. Skip!!!
9. Check every hose for leaks. I had one leak from tank, Easily fixed it by tightening the hose.I purchased this item to replace a lower quality system and am very pleased with the system. It was easy to install and produces plenty of water which tastes terrific because of the mineral replacement feature of the system. I suspect the larger storage tank is helpful in to its ability to keep up with larger water demands. I wish I had not wasted my money and time with the lesser quality and expensive item. the old saying really is true that you get what you pay for and I wish I had bought this one first.
