Go Berkey Kit - Portable Water Filter with Sport Bottle & Carrying Case

I have had my portable "Go" Berkey for several months now and take it with me everywhere I travel. Hotels in the US, friends houses, foreign destinations everywhere! In fact, I like it so much, that I then purchased the "Big Berkey" that holds 2.25 gallons. I was so impressed with this, that I then purchased the Colossal "Crown" Berkey that holds 6.5 gallons! My 6 member family is happy with all three and they are an indispensable part of our lives. We emphasize copious water consumption and these the most logical, efficient and cost effective means of accomplishing this.

We have missionary friends in primitive areas of India and Africa who have also found the Berkey system to play a critical role in their lives. Everyone is happy with its performance.

Regarding those who say it "leaks", I can authoritatively say that the spigot only leaks for those who don''t know how to "screw a lid on tight" or don''t know how to properly connect a hose onto a faucet. The only "leak" issue that potential purchasers will need to be prepared for, is that it can be overfilled, causing the water to leak out between the upper and lower chambers.

Obviously, if the upper chamber is overfilled, it will cause the lower chamber to overfill, resulting in a overflow between the two. This is only a problem for those who are unprepared.

Screw on the spigot well and don''t overfill, and you won''t have any problems.

This is truly a professional product, that is NOT just a water filter it is a very sophisticated water purifier. It does what it is supposed to do and does it very, very well. It is exceptionally well built and performs flawlessly.

very well designed water filtration system. I was drinking unfiltered municipal water before this. I came across a video interview with Dr. Mercola who talked about the benefits of having a good water filtration system. This particular model suits my lifestyle because its light, strong and still just as powerful as the larger models. I received my Go Berkey in the mail yesterday to find a bunch of helpful information in the shipping box with a hand written note from someone in customer service at Berkey which listed her private extension if I had any questions. Now that is good customer service! The Go Berkey system is compact yet can filter a good portion of water. The sport bottle is cool looking and has a great design though I haven''t used it yet. Priming the filter was a snap although directions for the system weren''t very concise but it wasn''t rocket science. All in all I''m very pleased with my purchase and I will be taking it hiking this weekend to test out the sport bottle. I would recommend this to anyone who camps, hikes, or would just like a water filtration system which uses gravity and requires no power source to make safe drinking water.

I have 2 Berkeys and love them!

They do the job simply and very well and I wouldn''t think of any other water filtration.

Like the last reviewer said, they do NOT leak unless improperly assembled or overfilled.

With stainless, overfill sometimes happens; just pour some out and wipe it up!

Now they have an accessory called "Water Level Sight Glass Spigot" that shows the water level,

so no more overfill. Yay!

This is a great little kit. Thats saying a lot since I am usually unable to tell the difference between bottled water and tap water. However I can tell the difference with this filter.

Good:

Polished Stainless Steel is attractive

Comes with a bag to hold everything for storage

Sturdy sport bottle, no leaks or bursting even when I''m stepping on it

Bad:

Somewhat difficult to prime the sport bottle filter, I kept thinking I was going to break it

Sometimes a little water spills out when you fill the main filter

Doesn''t wash my windows for me
