Jupiter Orion Water Ionizer - Model JP109 - 5 Yr. Warranty

Jupiter Orion Water Ionizer - Model JP109 - 5 Yr. WarrantyWe''ve been buying bottled RO water (reverse osmosis) for a number of years now and I had no idea how much it was impacting my health.

Before I started drinking alkaline water I was bloated, tired and had an array of other health issues like IBS. I was so tired each day; I could barely get through eight hours before feeling like I needed a nap. I realized that I could never handle drinking reverse osmosis water because I couldn''t get passed the first glass without instantly feeling bloated! I found it difficult trying to drink 6 + glasses of RO water a day because I was always instantly bloated!

I used the pH testing Kit that came with the Orion Water Ionizer to test the pH level of our RO water. I discovered that the pH level was under 6.0 which means that it was acidic. I later learned that the acidic RO water was actually contributing negatively to the health issues I had.

Now, when I drink the alkaline water from my Orion, I don''t get bloated! This is amazing! For years I really never liked drinking water as it made me bloated every day. The alkaline water tastes sweet which makes it very pleasurable to drink and I now easily drink my 6-8 glasses a day without any bloating at all! I have a lot more energy to get me through my busy day without feeling like I need a mid afternoon nap and the best part of it all is my IBS symptoms are gone! I wish I learned about this a long time ago.

I highly recommend the Jupiter Orion JP109 Water Ionizer to anyone looking to improve their health. It''s helped me and my family tremendously. I purchased this water ionizer from Kitchen''s Best as I have made other purchases from this company in the past. They have been superb to deal with and have great customer service.

My name is Kirby G.McMeans and it''s been 6 weeks that my Wife and I are drinking this alkaline ionized water. Before my Wife and I hardly drinking water on a good day were lucky if we drink 2 glasses of water a day, because i preffer drinking concentrated juice and my wife likes softdrinks and she does''nt really likes drinking water at all. But when my friend came over and gave us a 5 gallon of alkaline ionized water to try everything change, we find it that this water it taste so good, sweet, smooth and we don''t bloated and i can feel that i have lots of energy. Because i am dealing with 2 types of cancer, in my situation right now i really need something to help me! When we try this water my wife and i decided to buy the Alkaline Ionic Water Machine. This water really help us a lot even the my doctor said that this water is really good for me and bring my prostate cancer PSA level down from .34 to .29 and i am sleeping way better now. Even my wife and my friends keep on telling me that i look healthy than before. My wife really loves this alkaline water she does''nt go anywhere without bringing alkaline water with us it''s like we cannot live without this alkaline water. I purchased my water ionizer from Kitchen''s Best. Fantastic service! After just a month of drinking ionized water, I''ve learned I''ll never go without my Jupiter Orion Alkaline Water System.

The water taste slightly sweet and very different in comparison to bottled R.O. water that I was buying from the store.

I have found that the ionized water feels "wetter" which I discovered is because of the smaller, more easily absorbed water molecules. In addition, the high alkaline water effectively quenches my thirst incomparably to bottle water.

Now, when I drink the alkaline water, I notice that my energy levels have improved a great deal; I wake up much earlier with more energy every morning. Previously, I often had chapped lips through most seasons, but after just a month my lips are much better and feel moisturized. This was a completely unexpected effect from alkaline water that I wasn''t expecting. The biggest plus for me is that I have noticed when drinking alkaline water, I snack less which has been helping me loose weight.

I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

My wife and I have been drinking high pH (approximately 10) alkaline water from our Jupiter Orion JP109 for about 3 months now and it has made a significant difference in our lives.

Prior to drinking alkaline water, we drank the water from our local city water. We both had problems with high blood pressure and I have type 2 Diabetes. After only one month of drinking alkaline water, my wife and I noticed significant changes!

We both now have stabilized blood pressure and the biggest breakthrough for me was that my blood sugar levels are finally consistent each and every day. The alkaline water has really helped my blood sugar level reduce to the ideal level for my body. I am so proud to say that as a result, I have stopped taking all of the medication I used to take for my Diabetes.

The alkaline water really makes us feel completely energized and we are both losing weight. It has truly changed out entire bodies and our lives!

Being that my wife and I are from Japan and China, we have seen and used a few of the other brands of water ionizers on the market. There is no doubt that the Jupiter Water Ionizers not only looks great but really out performs the others that are available and highly recommend it.

We also want to thank Kitchen''s Best Manufacturing Group, who introduced us to the Orion Water ionizer. Our health is invaluable to us so we are very grateful to have come across your company and this great product. This experience has been a blessing.

I personally haven''t seen the effects of "better feeling of health" reviews that others have experienced. I think my family has a history of high blood pressure, and being in my late 20s, I have experienced high blood pressure. My blood pressure has noticeably dropped after a week of exclusively drinking alkaline water. I can''t guarantee that this is the result of drinking alkaline, as it may have just been a placebo effect.

One thing I can include in my review that is superior to spring water, or tap water is the ability of alkaline water to help mix, batter flour. My mother and wife have both on separate instances have told me how easier it is to cook with alkaline water, and the noticeable difference is day and night. With alkaline water, they have reported that it takes a half or a third of the time it took to successfully mix flour compared to using tap water. They also told me that cooking tastes better, although I can''t tell the difference.

My mother has also mentioned how her plants look greener and healthier watering them with alkaline water.

Can''t pinpoint it, but the water certainly does seem to have positive effects.

When I unpacked this apparatus, I thought it was just a gimmick. Also, I didn''t see any changes in my water. However, after a couple of weeks, there began a real difference. The water is definitely much softer, and I can see an enormous difference when lathering with soap and shampoo. We also have seen a

big change in the amount of detergent being used in the laundry. All in all, it does a good job, and the price is very reasonable.

We have been using this product for about 2 months and found that the deposits from calcium have greatly reduced on the SS sink. The soap in the shower has more lather.

Like some others I was leary of a product that claims to soften water by using some electonics and a wire wrap.

Well I have to say my water has improved, dishes get cleaner in the dishwasher, no more white deposits on fawcets, toilets stay cleaner longer and the white film on the shower glass is much easier to keep clean.

One note on the installation that I advised the manufacturer of is the mounting tie wraps don''t work too good, You may need to use some duct tape to keep the wires wound tight to the pipe.

I am not one to provide product reviews, but I had to write this one after those negative reviews I have seen. They must have either installed the unit wrong, or they have very hard water to begin with.

This is the third home I have used a ClearWave water conditioner in. In all three homes I have noticed reduced scale build-up on shower heads, faucets, sinks, toilets and also on glassware in the dishwasher, to the point there is no more build-up. Shortly after installing it, the soap lathered more in the shower and my wife was able to reduce slightly the amount of soap used in the washing machine. I am a very satisfied user. This unit really did make a difference. Also, if you consider the relatively low purchase price, no maintenance and very low electricity use (only 5 watts), I do recommend this product.

this thing I took a gamble on. I wasn''t all that sure that something electric could condition water and treat my hard water problems. I live in a rural area with very hard water. I have been troubled for years with constant lime (calcium) build up on shower heads and faucets. Looked at it when it arrived and thought I was taken. I hooked up the unit as instructed and I used a chemical remover to clean the scale from faucets and shower heads. I am very surprised and happy. The thing does what it''s advertised to do. I have noticed better lather when showering and so far no build up on the sinks or shower.

PUR 18 Cup Dispenser Save 28% Off

PUR 18 Cup Dispenser with One Pitcher Filter DS-1800ZGreat water filter and pitcher. Durable and stylish.

Update 10/24/12: Still working amazingly well. Just pop it in the dishwasher every time I change the filter and its good as new.

This is a great water filter and it gets plenty of use in my household. If anything I could say "I wish it held more water," (I drink 3+ litres of water a day and it seems that I am always filling the darned thing up) but that would be an unreasonable request. Who would want a dispenser so large that it would be unwieldy to carry to the refrigerator? No one not even me. So I bought a second one so that one of them is always full! This dispenser is slim so that I can easily fit two side by side in my refrigerator. (Can''t have too much of a good thing!) And this filter/dispenser is definitely good it has a large fill "basket" and the 2 stage filter produces water that is completely taste and odor free. I could easily tell the difference in my drinking water! Lastly, the filters (with usage indicators) are long-lasting. I have filled my first dispenser twice a day for 1 1/2 months and it still hasn''t reached the half way point. Very impressive results! Highly recommend.

My wife and I have immensely enjoyed the wonderful water we get from our Pur filtration pitcher, which uses the same filters as this dispenser.

It''s very convenient -just pour water into the top, and it will, albeit slowly, drip through the filter. Over time, as the filter clogs, it will get slower, so the key is to add more water every time you pour more out -that way, it''s filtering while you are drinking and you aren''t waiting.

It''s actually much more convenient than the faucet-mount filters, which inevitably leak and get painfully slow and force you to wait...

Pur is better than Brita, by the way, if you get the Ultimate filters, which filter out cryptosporidium and giardia in addition to chemicals and gunk. Brita doesn''t do that; it''s an important feature if you have iffy water systems (Mexico, Russia) or a weak immune system...

We got this pitcher for our family of 6 almost 3 years ago, and have used it constantly since. It does fit nicely in a fridge, but we keep it on the counter because it gets used so often and I don''t like the fridge door opening all the time. We have a smaller Brita pitcher for the fridge, and there is a HUGE difference in the taste. The Pur is much better. We live in NYC, which has heavily chlorinated water. With this Pur filter, we can''t taste the chlorine at all.

We have found that after a couple of weeks (sometimes less) the filters really slow down. At first we''d just replace them, because even with replacing the filter every couple of weeks it''s cheaper to filter water than to buy it pre-bottled. (My daughter just did a science project on the fact that bottled water is almost completely unregulated, so filtering your own tested/regulated tap water is probably safer anyway.) However, we have since discovered that if you pull the filter out and soak it in cold water for 10 minutes, the same as you do when starting a new filter, the drip speed increases again. Now our filters really last the month or two they''re supposed to.

I have never had a problem with mold or mildew with this dispenser, a problem that some people have with Britas. I wash it every once in a while when I see dust in the top part, but I''m really amazed at how clean and fresh it has stayed all these years. It is really convenient to use though it''s a little heavy to return to the fridge once it''s filled (another reason ours stays on the counter).

I''m on this page now just because our dispenser has (finally) started to leak from the spout. There aren''t many products that can be used heavily for 3 years without a single problem! So after I finish this review, I''m going to buy another one. I don''t know of any better, safer, cheaper, more delicious way to keep a large family hydrated.

The ds-1800 / ds-1800z does the job, if slowly. Rough ballpark is that if the base is 1/3rd full and you fill the top to full, it''ll take 40 minutes (yes, I timed it) for it to filter (slows down towards the end.) If you''re starting from empty, you are looking at over an hour to a full container.

The filter spec sheet lists mostly high-90''s for percent-removal of lots of things, except for MTBEof which it only removes a minimum of 70%, and a maximum not much higher...still under 80%. Given how common MTBE pollution in water is these days (thanks, California!) and its carcinogenic nature, that''s pretty poor.

Also, Pur only rates it for a maximum of 2 gallons a day, and "approximately" 40 gallons per filter "depending on local water conditions". They warn you that the filter''s performance drops rapidly, but there''s no way to tell how long that''ll be, even if you have your water tested!

Watch out as the top is not 1/2 of the size of the bottom. The bottom is about 1.5x larger than the top. A line on the inside of the lower reservoir for a "don''t fill the top to full when the reservoir is above this" would be a good addition.

The amazon description is slightly misleading; it does not have a "filter life indicator". It has a sticker showing a 12 month dial, and a second sticker to place on that. A molded in dial with spinner would be an improvement and all that''s necessary (the brita lcd thing is silly.)

The spigot lever is strongly spring-loaded and cheaply built. If you pull it down and then let go, it will smack the side of the container very hard.

Make sure you insert the filter with the tabs aligned with the hole; you''ll see a lock-down mechanism that seats the filter after you give it clockwise turn. The instructions do not mention this. Also, the filter may seem like it sits too high in the upper tray, but the inlet slats go down almost to the o-ring, so don''t worry about it draining the upper tray.

I''m happy with the product''s efficacy. The resealable plastic bottle now stores 2 more uses for the future, another plus.

Just be very careful not to take in a lungful of the fumes! This produced gas so fast and so strong, I inhaled some before I knew it. My throat feels raw and burned, I coughed for 15 minutes and had some very sobering thoughts about WWI/WWII battlefield tragedies (sorry to be melodramatic, but that''s really what came to mind). Yes, the smell is bad, but worse, this stuff burns!

Before use, remove as much water as possible because it will foam, expand/overflow. Please use with good ventilation, stand well back, and move away at once. Consider safety glasses, available on Amazon for as low as $2.55 by Dewalt, with free Amazon Prime membership delivery (always good to have some of these around the house). Of course, keep this away from children and pets. Good luck, and use with great care!

My drain problem was a totally stopped up bathtub on the 2nd. flr. I had to bail out the tub after each shower. I applied Green Gobbler to the drain and ran some water to hopefully reach the clog. It took several days and several applications but it did the trick. It''s not magic and it took persistance but it worked using a product that is less harmful than others. On the down side, my porcelain tub got some minor etching from the treated, standing water. A acceptable trade-off for me. A possible solution would be to avoid treated puddles sitting in porcelain for any length of time. I will use this product again and recommend it.

I used this powdered drain cleaner exactly as directed by the product''s manufacturer on two different drains, one a kitchen sink and the other a bathtub. The purpose of it''s use was simply as maintenance as both were draining albeit a touch slow. In both cases it created a complete blockage. It was like I was using a stopper as no water whatsoever would drain. I resorted to buying and using a snake to clear the blockages created by this powder. Never again.

  • Attaches easily to faucets

  • Filters should be replaced after approximately 100 gallons of filtered water or about every 4 months

I have been through several Pur faucet mounts.. Each of them cracked and blew up. While Pur was good about replacing them, I was tired of the hassle and switched to the Brita faucet mount. They were pathetic as well. They kept getting detached from the faucet because they used these cheap plastic couplings.

With that said, I am happy to report that this new model uses a metal coupling. We''ve had it up and running for the past week and it incredibly solid with no sign of leakage. Most importantly, it looks like it''s going to stay on.

I feel is that everything we''ve used up on until now has been a beta test. This one new release feels like they ironed out the kinks. I will post an update if I find out otherwise.

UPDATE: 12/20/2011

We''re in our 3rd month and this is still working fine. No blow-ups or leaks.

UPDATE 1/4/2012

Ugggh. I''m sorry to report that it cracked and sprung a leak last week. The good news is that Brita is sending over a replacement PLUS, I have viable theory on how to prevent it. Even though the faucet connector is metal, the internal components are still plastic. The unit seems to be designed to withstand a certain level of pressure. My recommendation (which I will follow) is to minimize the pressure by going easy on how far turn the faucet when you''re in filter mode.

UPDATE 5/29/2012

Since the most recent update, this unit has been replaced 3x...all for the same reason. It starts leaking after about 3 months. We appreciate that Brita honors their 1 year warranty by sending us new units, but it''s getting annoying. Of course, I know their driver behind the willingness is they sell a lot of filters. But sheesh. Brita feel free to contact me. We love your product and what it''s designed to do. But you''ve got kinks you need to work out and I''m happy to provide direct feedback to improve the reliability of your system. Please give me a manager at Brita I can contact via the comments for this this review.

I see a lot of reviewers are having trouble with the base popping off. I sure know what they''re talking about, but I''ve been using Brita tap filters for at least 10 years and never have this trouble anymore if I follow these rules. And I don''t use the metal connector, I use the plastic one without any trouble. (I think the metal one will wear the threads on my faucet, so I avoid it.) Also, I''m using the other model of Brita tap filter, which has a spray setting. This one is thicker at the base for some reason. I''m not sure what kind of lever this one has for switching between filtered and non-filtered water, but I think these tips will still apply.

1. When you install the base onto the faucet, hold the base in a very level position. As you turn the ring to screw it on, you should feel no resistance at all. If you do, then you''re not holding the base in the correct position. It has to be perfectly lined up.

2. Install the base with the filter as far back on the left side as possible, so that it rests against the left side of your sink''s spigot. This will prevent it from moving around when you move the lever to switch into filter mode.

3. Use care when switching the settings. When you switch into filter mode make sure the water is off! Do not switch while the water is running. This causes too much sudden pressure on the filter base.

4. When you switch from one setting to the other, steady the base with one hand while switching with the other, and do so in such a way that the base doesn''t twist or torque at all.

5. Watch for any hint of leaking around the connection area, and when it looks the slightest bit less than tight, it''s time for a little maintenance. Remove the filter base and clean the screen inside (it gets clogged periodically and this is what causes pressure build up. If you''re using the adapter, before replacing the base, be sure to sure to check that it is still screwed in tight. Also be sure the little washer on it is in place.

6. Last but not least, never run the water faster than it can come out the filter! The filter can only filter about 3/8 inch stream of water. To run the tap any faster than this causes unnecessary water pressure.

7. One more tip for getting more life out of your cartridges. Have a water pitcher or 2, and filter a lot at once. This reduces the amount of time you run water through it to clean it before getting your drinking water, and reduces the amount of stuff for it to filter out per amount of water that goes through it.

If you follow these rules, you''ll be golden :)

I''ve used the older brita model for several years and was very happy with it. Sadly the indicator light stopped working on the base so I bought this new model. I hate it. Maybe I got a dud, but I cannot see the green light to tell me its working. AND the water pressure is horrible--about half of what the old one was. I may try a PUR. I''m so disappointed. This one is NOT an improvement. Why did they mess with a good thing?

I''ve been usuing Brita for several years and was always very happy with it. As the light stopped working on my old one, I got the new model and to say the least, am more than disappointed. First of all there is no light indicator at all that tells when the filter needs replacing. Secondly the spout for the filtered water does not come out like a stream anymore but splashes all over the place. It is impossible to fill a water bottle or thermos with it or anything with a small opening. Even holding a regular glass under it is tricky because none of the water comes actually from the center of the water flow. Instead, it splaches all over your hands and into the sink. The control knob is also a change I''m not crazy about.

I''ve got this new model at our local BJs at a price I thought was a bargain because it included two filters. I paid $30 but now realize it''s not even worth $10. My family also hates the way it works so I guess it''s "Good-bye Brita" .

Saeco 10-Cup Automatic Drip Coffee Maker Save 28% Off

Saeco 10-Cup Automatic Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe and Burr Grinder, Stainless SteelI have had this product for about 2 weeks and have owned several different brands of grind and brew machines over the years.

Thus farcoffee is good (on strong); clean-up is simple; programming requires a little experience on sequencing (I''ve owned other brands and seem to revert back to old habits).

The carafe design, however, is horrible. Whether filling the water reservoir or filling the cup, it leaks all the time unless you pour at a dribble rate (for the 1st cup of coffee in the morning? Come on!!!). About 1 cup of water seems to run over the counter when filling the reservoir. This seems to be a function of the narrow width of the spout. Should be an easy fix.

Also, the carafe design always seems to leave about 1/2 cup of water in the carafe when filling the reservoir until you practically turn the carafe upside down.

as another reviewer said i bought this despite the reviews thinking that people were being fussy. unfortunately the machine has issues that most people will find annoying. that said, if you play around a bit, you can get a great cup of coffee. issues:

1) manual is a joke. not consumer friendly. not helpful. bare bones.

2) carafe is terrible. all the comments about difficulty of pouring are accurate. to pour without spilling, you need to do it at a trickle. carafe also does not keep coffee hot for very long.

3)i''m finding the grinder to be a little fussy.. if you don''t move beans around with your finger then they may not go into the grinder. there are moments you hear the grinder going but nothing being ground.

4) for some reason the "check basket" light comes on automatically before every use.

all of this is aggravated by saeco usa customer service being non-existent. emails are not returned. web messages are not answered. no live phone reps and messages are not returned. between this and the manual, i have to say saeco has no sense of being customer focused or friendly.

tips for getting a good cup of coffee:

1) use a very find grind

2) set brew to "strong"

3) set machine to grind 2 more cups of beans than you actually need. to make 6 cups -set machine to grind for 8 cups -and fill with 6 cups of water

that''s my two cents!

*** UPDATE 5/4 while I still have the same issues, I did get connected to Saeco customer service and they have been helpful and very responsive

Buy Saeco 10-Cup Automatic Drip Coffee Maker Now

I purchased one of these with the expectation that it would be as easy to use as other similar brands I have previously purchased. The one I received had a defect in that the retractable metal device that opens to let the grinds through and closes to keep the steam out of the grinder path would get stuck closed and not let the grinder pass the grounds into the basket. The folks at Saeco USA were helpful but didn''t have one to send me to replace it but noted it in case I had a problem with replacement.

Makes a good strong cup of coffee.

Stainless steel carafe means:

1. You had better heat it up with hot water prior to use or the coffee will be cool.

2. No heating element to keep it warm or fix number 1 above the steel carafe is suppose to maintain the temperature.

3. No breaking the glass carafe

I agree opening the carafe is a bit awkward and annoying.

I used to purchase a similar product from Capresse, while it was better and easier to use in many ways, it broke down in constant use at home and at work (I purchase 3 of them).

I have owned a Saeco coffee pot before (the Saeco Aroma) and was totally satisfied with the purchase as the machine performed faithfully for 5+ years. So of course, when I was ready to replace it, I naturally went with another Saeco product expecting awesome quality...BIG MISTAKE! The Saeco 10-Cup Automatic Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe and Burr Grinder is an extremely poor coffee maker at best. First, lets talk about the coffee bean burr grinder. What an awesome idea to have your coffee drip maker automatically grind the beans fresh right into the basket...a great idea if it worked! If I do not manually push the beans into the grinder feed opening in the bin after the automatic grind sequence begins, I end up with a tablespoon of coffee (at most) in the bottom of the basket once the grind sequence is completed. So, if you push the brew button and walk away, the ten cups of water will cycle through the tablespoon of coffee, and you will end up with hot water that is slightly tinted brown with no hint of coffee flavor. Isn''t it the point that the machine is supposed to do it automatically for you without having to stand around and babysit it to make sure you get coffee? Oh, and don''t get me started about the thermal carafe. I mean, the thermal carafe is probably one of the top reasons I purchased this machine as (at least with my old Saeco Aroma) it allows the coffee to remain hot without getting overcooked by a burner plate. My old coffee maker thermal carafe would keep the coffee hot for 3+ hours but this one, maybe 30 minutes tops and then the coffee gets ice cold. On top of that, the lid on the carafe, if not put on just right, dribbles coffee all over the counter and floor while you are pouring it...YUK. To say the least, I am extremely disappointed with my buy and wished I had never purchased this machine. In short, DISAPPOINTMENT!

Not real sure what some of the bad reviews are all about in regards to this machine. No issues with pouring that is not present with any other thermal carafe. Yes the water reservoir is a bit awkward to poor into, but not that big of a deal. Makes great coffee, and allows you to choose if you want your coffee made mild, medium, or strong. We love our machine, and you can''t go wrong with a name like Saeco.
