Kwik Sip The Original Drinking Fountain Save 37% Off

Kwik Sip The Original Drinking FountainI''m very satisfied with this "Kwik Sip" adjustable drinking fountain. This product has some features that are not mentioned in advertisement. Here is what really I like about this "Kwik Sip" fountain:

1) Very durable product. Made of metal and strong plastic pieces. You can tell a lot of thought was put into this product.

2) Push the bar/button to the right to get adjustable fountain of water. Push bar/button to left to get regular flow from faucet. The bar/button is not spring loaded. It stays where you pushed it.

3) You can point the stream of water in a full range of left, right and straight up and any where between and it stays there.

4) The stream of water angles towards you into the sink and not back onto the faucet like other non-adjustable fountain devices (see below).

5) You have full control of how high and how far the stream goes. You can reduce it down so if somebody turns the water on full it only squirts an arch into the sink and not beyond. Or you can adjust for tall/long stream. Stream is very adjustable by turning the sleeve where water comes out. Cool thing is if you reduce the stream all the way down the stream is always the same size no matter how much you turn on the water faucet.

6) It comes with multiple inside threaded and outside threaded adapters to fit almost any faucet.

They really put a lot of good thought and engineering into this product.

Here are the products I bought and tried that did not work:

1) "Dreamfarm Tapi Rubber Tap Squeeze Drinking Fountain": Did not fit any of my faucets in the house and shoots water back onto the faucet instead of straight up or towards you. Is NOT adjustable.

2) "Jokari Whale Faucet Fountain": Would not stay on any faucets in my house. Hot water deformed it''s plastic shape permanently.

3) "FLIPPER Faucet Fountain": Would not stay on any faucet in my house. Plastic sleeve in opening is too slippery.

4) "Sink Drink Turns a Faucet Into a Fountain for Your Cat": This would not stay on any faucet.

Believe it or not. I did buy and try all of the above products and Kwik Sip was definitely the best. I HIGHLY recommend you get this "Kwik Sip" fountain or another good one (that I''m not aware of) that screws into the faucet instead of slip on. None of the slip ons I tried slipped off and would not stay on.

Hope this helps!

This unit works well, and is nice for those who do not want to have cups and such in their bathroom. I use it every day when I brush my teeth. The only think I notice is it seems to get some particles or something in the fountain part, so sometimes is squirts a little off to the right or left, and sometime when you switch over to the fountain from normal operation it can shoot a little water past the sink bowl. Otherwise, those are very small details, and over all I love not having to place my head under the faucet. I would highly suggest it for the price. The unit was simple to install and only took a minute to put on and adjust!

It''s cheap. It does what it says. It is easy to install. I will probably get one for the other bathroom as well.

I''ve used various faucet mounting fountains and this is BY FAR one of the best determined by performance, craftsmanship, durability, and functionality. It stays on the faucet, 80% of it''s body is metal no chincy plastic. Water flow isn''t deturmined by the faucet so that helps prevent over pressuring the fountain and spraying water out of the sink. Once activated users don''t have to hold the device while drinking just a quick flip of a switch. Must buy!

I bought this to replace our Jokari Whale Faucet Fountain (see my review of that), and this is a MUCH better quality, however, it only works well if your faucet opening points straight up and down vertically. Ours points slightly forward, so adjusting this faucet so that the flow worked was difficult, and it is still not ideal. The faucet goes straight up, for the most part, which is not ideal.

However, that said, the quality of this piece is perfect, It will screw on to any faucet, and the operation is fool proof. There are many ways to adjust the direction and flow of this faucet, too, which is really thoughtful design. All my children operate it with no problems (age 3 and up). It is the perfect gadget for eliminating all sorts of problems: cups everywhere all day (for those of us who like clean counters and table tops for at least some of the time), the need to get your children drinks all the time, especially when they run in on those hot summer days, and it prevented my little ones from putting their mouths on the faucet and jumping up and balancing on the edge of our pedestal sink to do so.

Quite nifty and convenient!

Keurig B150 Direct Water Line Plumb Kit

Keurig B150 Direct Water Line Plumb KitFor those of you who weren''t sure if the B150 Direct Line kit would work with the B155 brewer, the answer is yes. If you follow the instructions for installation precisely, it will work great.

There is more to the story, however. The unit I received was slightly damaged, the water level sensor magnet in the reservoir was loose, and the retaining device unhitched. I compared this to the pour over resevoir, discovered the error, got the magnet back in place, and re-installed the retainer. I didn''t realize that I installed the magnet backwards, with the magnet facing inside instead of outside the reservoir. Because the magnet was backward, the unit thought there was no water in the reservoir. I thought the direct plumb kit was incompatible. I got it working perfectly after discovering and correcting my blunder.

I did not get the filter kit, so my warranty is void. The plumbing is rather simple, the unit is exactly like a dishwasher from a plumbing standpoint, so if you get a dishwasher hookup kit from your local hardware store, the only challenge is how it hooks into the water supply system. There is some adaptation required if you hook into the refrigerator ice-maker line as I did. For those that are plumbing challenged, you should consult with a good friend who is not, or hire a plumber as the instructions suggest.

This is a very expensive endevour for a home coffee maker, it is solely for those who value convenience highly, or want to brag about never having to fill the damn reservoir ever again. I love the fact that I can brew at will, or make cups for guests at will without having to fill.

Four stars instead of five only because I had to fix, troubleshoot, and re-fix. Otherwise, completely happy about the purchase.

The kit was very easy to install on a B155 and it works great. You do have to unplug the machine and plug it back in to get it to recognize the tank, which they don''t mention in the instructions.

I had an old water hookup to an ice maker that I was not using. With this, a couple of inexpensive parts from the hardware store and the direct water line hookup (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047OVH7U/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00), I was able to hook this up to the line in about 15 minutes. Works great and I love never having to fill my coffee pot.

My hubby usually has this filter replaced with our semi annual air / heat inspection. They charge us for the service call which also includes their much needed expertise of course. But they charge us $45 for the replacement filter! I ordered this one, and he put it in himself before the inspection and it saved us a lot of money in their mark-up. Neither one of us are handy, so if we can replace it, anyone can. This was a good value for us.

Blueair 203W HepaSilent Air-Purification System Save 17% Off

Blueair 203W HepaSilent Air-Purification System, WhiteAfter allergies triggered asthma for me, I could no longer get by with a cheap air purifier. I researched for hours before deciding on this one. I was looking for something that I could use in the bedroom to help me sleep. This fit the bill on all fronts.

Not only does it clean the air, but produces white noise which helps block out the noise of your neighbors. I will advise, it is quite loud on the medium and high settings, but produces great airflow if you have lower ceilings. You won''t even need a ceiling fan with this turned on high.

Upon first use, it smelled, as is common with a new HEPA filter. This disappeared after a day. Within two days, the air was so clean, it was noticeable just by taking a deep breath. Nearly two weeks later and the room still doesn''t need to be dusted. This will cut my cleaning frequency down tremendously which is a good thing for my lungs.

The most obvious sign to me that this was a good air purifier was after one week. I would leave the clean air of the bedroom and within 1 hour, I was back to coughing. As you may know, with asthma, it''s generally worse while lying down. When I go to bed, I''m coughing from the days exposure to bad air, but within an hour or so, I feel better and sleep the night through. It''s only after leaving the bedroom in the morning that I''m back to being sick and asthmatic. I have to give the credit to this air purifier because there is no other explanation.

It comes with a separate digital timer that you can place anywhere. It is magnetic, but I''ve chosen not to put it on the unit. It counts down the days to filter change and a blue light will come on when it is time to change the filter. The filter on this unit is outstanding. The filter has a gasket around it to prevent even the tiniest particles from getting around the filter during intake. Very cool. I''ve never owned one this nice. Plus, the unit is made of steel. No off-gassing from plastic here. It looks like it means business and it does!

I''ve been so impressed by this unit that I''m back for another one for my office and I will also be purchasing a big one from the 600 series to cover my open living areas. I''m purchasing my other units now, so I can buy replacement filters at the same time, every 6 mos. As I understand, the filters on these will degrade and must be changed on time, every 6 mos. If you decide to get one, be sure to get one that covers the square footage you need and keep the doors and windows closed.

One last thing: The blue light on this is incredibly BRIGHT! If you don''t want your entire bedroom illuminated, you can cover it with a sticker. Choose something nice, that goes with your decor. I used a sticker from this booklet Classic Posters: 16 Art Stickers. I put a part of the sticker that is solid black right over the blue light and you can still see the light is on at night, but it''s not bright enough to illuminate the room anymore.

Although this unit is not quite as quiet as the 400 series Blueair, the 400 series is quite a bit larger and looks like a big huge computer tower. The 200 series is a nicer size and looks more like an air purifier. The sound from the 200 series can actually be quite soothing in terms of helping you to sleep and relax. In my fairly small bedroom, both units seemed to perform equally so I opted for the 203W since it looks better, was cheaper and the filters are a bit cheaper as well.

The Blueair 203 includes an electronic filter change timer as well.

I recommend this unit for the price-the air seems a whole lot fresher and cleaner and my allergies have been alleviated.

I do wish it had one lower setting that was slightly quieter though the lowest setting is by no means loud and most people would not even notice it at all if you had it on in a room and the unit was out of sigh or something like that.

These filters work very well and help keep the house air cleaner, even the dog likes them. She will sleep with her head by one of these air cleaners. When I change them they are remarkably diry.

You''d have to have the hearing of a dog to complain about being bothered by the fan on this unit. On its lowest setting, it is unbelievably quiet. The only thing that does bother me, however, is the blue light that kept me from sleeping, as it was pointed in my face. A small piece of tape solved that problem. After the first 24 hours, my room smelled fresher, and time will tell as to whether it will eliminate allergy/mold issues. A great unit for this price range, and also recommended by Consumer Reports, so that''s why I bought it.

germguardian AC4825 3-in-1 Air Cleaning System

germguardian AC4825 3-in-1 Air Cleaning System with True Hepa, UV-C Power and Odor Reduction, 22 inchI just purchased this device and put it into service yesterday to combat the terrible mold issue in our old apartment, and also because we have dust and cat dander no matter how often I dust and vacuum. Where there is a mold flare up, my daughter coughs all night long (and ends up getting sick), which happened two nights ago and prompted me to make this purchase. Last night however, there was zero coughing. The air actually smells and feels fresh and we both slept incredibly well. Its very quiet, sleek looking, and Energy Star rated so I don''t have to worry too much about using it 24-7.

The previous review said that it emits a strong plastic odor. That odor is present the minute you take it out of the box, like all new things made of plastic. After running it for about 18 hours, the smell is barely noticeable and I''m sure will continue to fade away. In fact, food odors get trapped in the bedroom every time I cook, but not last night! Its the only room in the house that doesn''t smell like the garlicky beef I made for dinner. :)

My toddler and I both have severe allergies and asthma. To the point that over the past month we have both been having major issues with the pollen and smog in the air, even with being home most of the time! I ordered this one after doing A LOT of research, and I decided this was the best for the money. With a true HEPA filter that you replace once a year (opposed to once a month) it would save money in the long run. I chose this one for the den in our house and over the coming weeks we will be getting smaller ones for the bed rooms.

This review for right now is 24 hours in to having it on in the house, and later I will come back and add to it.

Set up was easy straight out of the box, and I put it out of traffic areas in the house. I was worried with where I put it there would be trouble for good air circulation, but it is doing great! In fact with it on high I noticed a tag on the other side of the room (directly across) was moving on one of the toys yesterday as I was cleaning. Then I cooked fish last night (our den has an open doorway to the kitchen), and I couldnt even smell it cooking!! I decided to test it this morning, and sat on the couch painting my nails. Even using nail polish remover I couldnt smell it!!! (which astounds me b/c I hate doing my nails simple b/c of the toxic fumes!!) As far as noise, its not that bad. On high, with the tv and with kids running around it is a little white noise and thats it. I sleep with the bed room doors open, and having a tower computer on in the den annoyed me, however on medium I couldn''t even hear it in the den! It also moves a lot of air b/c even when the ac isnt blowing air, it feels like it is b/c of this tower! I am super excited at the thought of having better air quality in the house so we dont have as many issues, and I know it will take probably a good month for me to be able to judge that (and trust me I keep up with our flair ups b/c my son sees a specialist so I can tell you if it will make a difference or not). I also liked the UV light, since we have kids over to play all the time it makes perfect sense to have it to.

Also anyone that has lung issues, make sure to avoid any purifier that has the ion part (where you turn it on for a fresh smell) it actually causes lung problems (if you have underlying problems). Oh and check out the reviews on walmart . com for this purifier, it has hundreds of reviews and most are five star (which is one of the reasons I went with this model even though not everyone loved it on here).

Check back in August and I will add an update =)

****************************UPDATE****************************** 12/2/2012

Hi ALL! Sorry took me so long to come back and update =) Fortunately if you see below I did give a heads up three weeks in we still loved it. This unit is holding up well, and really does a good job! Since buying it (I guess going on six months ago now --WOW THAT WENT FAST!!) it helped with our asthma and allergies. Within the first month I stopped waking up with a stuffy nose, and it was taking particles out of the air so I wasn''t seeing as much dust. I still would love to have them in each room, but that is on the back burner. Make sure you have enough for the sq footage of your room. We have since moved to a larger place, that has more sq footage in the den, and also two open doorways leading to other rooms. As such, this unit is doing really well for how much air it has availability to; when I should honestly probably should have one more in here. It isn''t too loud, and I love the uv light. Within the first month of us having it we were exposed to someone (a visitor) that wound up having pneumonia. With the fact we have a higher risk of catching lung illnesses, I was really nervous. I think a big contributor to not catching it is because we had this unit running on high with the uv light. I highly recommend this unit, and I hope it helps! =)

This air purifier does a great job. The air is noticeably cleaner around it, and my problem with allergies have decreased because of it. I also really like the UV settingit makes me happy to know that germs won''t get far in my home. I''ve noticed no smell of plastic, as mentioned in another review. I''ve been using this purifier for 6 months.

Made this purchase recently...first impressions are great.

I''ve had a better known brand name hepa air filter for 2 years and it worked fine, but was much louder, even on the lowest setting.

The Germ Guardian, on the lowest setting is extremely quiet, enough to sleep through without any issues.

The UV-C feature and price is what attracted me to this unit.

To note, when you turn on the UV feature, there is a cool blue light along the top edge (below chrome) that lights up to indicate that its on (UV-C). It may be distracting at night, but I just placed a strip of masking tape to cover.

Regarding the plastic smell that others have noted, I find it faint, and I''m assuming it''ll go away after some use.

For the money, I don''t think you''ll find better. Extremely satisfied with the purchase.

This is a great buy. My icemaker was down for a long time, and with the heat wave, I needed it working again. My old motor was dead, and what should have been about a $20 replacement motor, was over $100, so I cancelled that idea, started shopping for a complete icemaker, and found this one. It was easy to install, and even though it is a newer design than my old one, it included the adapter cable, and fit right in with the same screws. It started making ice cubes within 2 hours, and dumps a new tray of ice about every hour. I am very pleased with it''s performance and cost (only about $40 incuding shipping!) I''m back to having frozen pina coladas and iced coffee.

Shark Steam Mop, Electric Save 33% Off

Euro-Pro Shark S3101 Electric Steam MopI live in a neighborhood where EVERY home is "green built certified" this means that, to have that certification, the builder built no homes with carpet. All the main floors are polished concrete and the upper floors wood. The bathrooms all have tile and/or slate in every home.

Because of this, as you could imagine, steam mops are quite the neccessity...not only because they get the hard surfaces better than anything else, but because they are also "green" and clean chemical free. I''ll be honest, for us...that''s a bonus but we weren''t cleaning chemical free before. We like chemical free for our pet''s paws but I''ll confess I was mopping with chemicals before I got my steamer and just kept the pets out of the room while doing it because, up until then, I couldn''t get it clean any other way.

Okay, so that said...we decided to have a steamer show down to compare 5 different steamers because my friends and I knew as long as we are in these homes we are gonna have to have a steamer to get all these hard floors clean...we may as well figure out which one to buy next go round. Because my own home is graced with 2 cats, 3 dogs, and two gregarious cooks, my kitchen floor (which had not ever been cleaned by a steamer since my steamer had just arrived) was the testing spot.

Mind you, I vaccuum twice per week and do a mega mop twice a week. I THOUGHT I had pretty clean floors in spite of my pet capacity.

I thought wrong. These picked up dirt so well it''s scary

So here''s the results:

1. steam mops are the mac daddys of clean floors. What these things picked up was tremendous and no comparison to my vigorous prior constant major mopping.

2. So now I''ll break down the elements of each mop we used and then go into more detail about each at the end.

We tried out:

"S": The shark by Europro (update on the Shark Deluxe in notes below as well)

"E" The Envirosteamer by Eureka

"H" the haan steamer

"M" the Monster

"B" The Bissell Green Tea

CORD LENGTH: so you don''t have to stop and unplug and replug in somewhere else:

Shark ( will be referred to as S):20 feet

Envirosteamer (will be referred to as E): 25 feet

Haan: (will be referred to as H)19''8"

Monster (will be referred to as M): 25 feet

Bissell (will be referred to as B) 17 feet

STEAM TEMPERATURE: this is a primary element. The hotter the steam, the more dirt picked up and hot steam will also kill parasites, mold and mildew and loosen more dirt:

S 110 degrees. lame

E 220 degrees. very hot

H 212 degrees. very hot

M 266 degrees. hottest...although the envirosteamer and haan seemed plenty hot enough. The shark didn''t clean nearly as well and this was one reason. 110 degrees just isn''t going to melt off stuck on grime.

B 125 degrees. Note that, because of this low steam temperature the manual said that if I wanted to sanitize the floor or pick up caked on spills, I had to hold the steamer on the spot for 15 seconds but no more than 20 because that could damage some floors. Now I don''t know about you, but if I can sanitize with one swipe of the other steamers because of their sanitizing temps my floor will be done WAY faster but I don''t have a timer to worry about the extra 5 secons where my wood floors could get damaged. My sink water is hotter than this so it would take less time to use a regular mop if I have to hold the steamer on every spot of my floor for 15 seconds to santize. Just sayin

BUILD:

We found how it was made corresponded with issues with the steamer. The Shark, for example, was quite flimsy and they actually sell replacement handle kits because so many people have issues with the handle breaking! We know this because my neighbor''s shark broke and the store had a replacement handle kit on the shelf because he said "it happens often". That''s an extra cost.

Envirosteamer: Was 5.4 lbs which made it lightweight but strong enough that you didn''t have to press down to clean. Very well made and strong parts

Haan: not made as well as the envirosteamer but it''s more expensive so this was a surprise. A bit flimsy and you need to press down on it more to clean at 3.15 lbs.

Monster: hefty and well made at 9 lbs but a bit too heavy unless you want a good workout. (Note: They have changed the Monster handles on the mops now and they are all plastic and people are having breakage issues)

Bissell: It''s 8.4 pounds but that includes a water filter that you have to get for this one (see notes below)

WATER CAPACITY: Very important because having to stop and add more water just adds on to the time you have to spend cleaning, especially if you are cleaning a hallway or livingroom or some other area that has no sink:

S: only holds 10 oz of water. Lasted for 10 miinutes of cleaning

E: holds 20 oz. of water. Lasted for over 20 minutes of cleaning (we stopped at 20 and it was still going)

H: holds 11.83 oz of water. Lasted for 13 minutes of cleaning

M: holds 17 oz. of water. Lasted for 15 minutes of cleaning

B: holds 13 oz of water, lasted for 12.5 minutes of cleaning AND you have to undo and remove the tank from the machine every time you fill it up then hook it back on and the steam tank is on the handle rather than the base so the steam doesn''t flow directly out after heating up which may explain why it''s not as hot once it leaves the machine. The way this mop is made the water flows past heating elements which can, according to Bissell, develop calcium deposits on it so this is the only mop where, because of this, you also have to use a water filter with it and replace the water filter when there is build up which means and extra 12 bucks every few months. The better mops are made to heat the water in a metal tank so this is not an issue and you pour the water directly into the tank.

STEAM HOLES: We found a difference although you''d think they''d all be the same. The shark only had one hole that the steam came out of so it wasn''t cleaning things on the edges, just in one spot. All the others had steam coming from bottom and sides.

SIZE: The taller it is the less stooping, the wider the mop head, the more it covers

S: 40"Hx12"Wx7"D

E: 50"Hx13.25"Wx6.75"D (the fact that this depth was smaller made it reach under applicances better...it fit better under things)

H: 50.5x11.5x7.5

M: 48x12.7.5

B: 45.25H (this was uncomfortably short) x11 x8.4 (even though this didn''t fit under cabinets because of the depth it did swivel the best)

Conclusion of comparison: First it must be pointed out that, in order to use the shark and the Bissell, you had to keep pumping the water. This was the most annoying feature of anything...the others just steamed on their own and didn''t wear out your fingers. Hated this feature of the shark and Bissell. We liked that the Monster and the Shark and Envirosteamer and the Bissell came with 2 cleaning pads rather than one. The Haan only came with one at the time of the review (I double checked since when she bought hers it was also only one and as of today, that hasn''t changed) so that ups the price even more because I can''t imagine only wanting one to clean. All worked well on sanitizing mattresses and showers. too.

But the winner picked by all of us unanimously as the mop we want to have for our next steam mop order?

The Eureka Envirosteamer. It picked up the most dirt, was made as well as the Monster but was less expensive, held the most water, emitted the most very hot steam so it sanitized as well, lasted 3 times as long with one water resevor fillup as the others, and had a cord as long as the monster. BUT if you have carpets than I would recommend the Monster because it has a carpet attachment that allows you to steam clean your carpets and it picked up pretty close to the same amount of dirt as the Eureka Envirosteamer, and had close to the same features...a bit heavier though but that may make it last even longer. It is costlier, but to clean 2 surfaces I would think that might make it worth it.

UPDATE: The Haan just started including 2 pads with the mop according to the product description page. Not that this changes our opinion since it didn''t work as well and the parts were flimsier, but it should be noted that this issue of not having enough cleaning pads has now been resolved and is equal to the other mops.

ANOTHER UPDATE ON THE SHARK DELUXE: 1. The Shark came out with a new machine that holds more water and has a longer cord BUT it still only shoots out the water to 110 degrees so it won''t sanitize or get rid of trapped grime at this "bathwater" temperature.

Another update: I haven''t tried it yet but was told about an even better mop than the Eureka Envirosteamer but I can''t personally afford it...still, it''s worth mentioning in case you can. It''s called the Ladybug XL2300 and is a canister steam mop. It heats the water to 298 degrees (woah!) so it''s a super sanitizer but it''s over a thousand bucks. It also comes with 6 towels. I didn''t include it in my review because I haven''t ever tried it and I wanted to only include mops I personally tried but it''s got great enough stats that, even though it''s out of my price range, I thought I''d pass it on as a super sanitizer when I read about it.

Also: Don''t spend money buying extra pads for the Eureka. I was in a pinch and used a kitchen dish towel...the rectangular kind...just clip on both ends. It worked just as good or better...because they are thinner so the steam penetrates faster and therefore reaches the floor hotter. However, I would recommend still only using the thick pads that come with it for your wood floors just to be safe. But the super hot steam penetrating the dish towel worked excellent on tile and hard floors. Also, you can flip both the towel and the pads that come with it on the Eureka to double the usage...when it gets dirty, just flip it over and use the other side. I use several old dish towels with this but I like best the kind that just have a bit of texture but no squares sewn on them...but they all work great. So do the pads.

WHY YOU WANT A MOP WITH THE TANK ON THE HEAD OF THE MOP: We found that mops that had the tank on the handle meant the water had to travel down piping or tubing, get to the head of the mop and then flow out the holes meaning that it had cooled from its original boiling point by that time, whereas the better mops had a stainless steel tank in the mop head that heated the water and then it flowed directly out at it''s boiling temp. Additionally, flowing down tubing can result in calcium deposits building up inside that tubing so they often recommend you buy bottled water so it doesn''t clog. Also the weight on the base means it''s pressing on the pad which you want to pick up dirt rather than the handle where you have to push it.

I have engineered BR-111 hardwood floor and laminate floor in the house. I actually bought both Bissell''s and Shark''s steam mop, but had not decided on which box to open until last night, after reading all the reviews about both products. I decided to take the Shark for a spin because the reviews suggest steam from Shark''s isn''t as excessive as the Bissell''s as people there complain the cloth to be too wet, and can take a long time to dry. For those who complains about streak marks, I don''t know if they have mopped the floor using the most traditional method, or their arms are so strong (unless you use cloth and knee on the floor all the time) that can keep the moisture in the cloth/mop at the minumum. I want to start the experiment by using the least steam and heat possible.

Now, I don''t understand why someone here needs to wet the pad before start mopping using Shark''s, I wonder if they ever read the manual suggesting to "pump" a few times to get the steam out and wet the pad that way. You definitely don''t want to get the pad too wet.

Then there''re those who expect the mop to "pick up dirt". Again, I don''t know what size of dirt they expect the mop pad to pick up, but it''s fairly large when the mop just push those things back and forth. Besides, you don''t really want the pad to pick up those things as it would be trapped in the pad and too hard to wash, whether hand-wash or machine-wash.

Having said all these, I do agree with others that, to be more specific, the grey connection between the aluminum handle and the purple body near the tank is flimsy. I would expect some material sturdier than this. I did not break anything from my first try, however!

The device is easy to assemble and use. The steam comes only if you push the mop, causing the long handle to be pushed into the tank at the bottom, allowing the steam to vent. I haven''t seen or used Bissell''s yet, but there''s only one hole in the middle of the pad area that allows the steam to vent. I wonder if more holes would allow the steaming and cleaning to be done more effectively. As you pull the mop back, you''re actually wiping the excessive steam on the floor away, keeping the streaks at the minimum. From my observation, I see the steam is released at the right amount as long as you''re not pushing it too slow.

Is the floor clean? I think it works fine on my hardwood floor, but the result on my laminiate isn''t as good... there''s a layer of haze on the floor and it felt a bit sticky to touch even after a while. Because the laminate area is small, I decided to use a dry cloth to give it a wipe, and the surface turned shinny and the stickiness was gone, and felt clean.

In all, I believe the mop does the job fine on my engineered hardwood floor and laminate, and I would give it a 4-star if it''s better built. And to all of you who don''t like this mop (except for those who have broken it), please read the instruction again and take a couple minutes to understand how the mop works, and get real that a mop is a mop, but not a broom or vacumn.

=======================

Edited for comparison with Bissell Steam Mop: I also purchased a Bissell Steam Mop as mentioned above, and I decided to give that a try as well. Here''s my comment, also posted on Bissell''s product review:

Let me start with the review by saying that I''m waiting for the floor to dry after using the Bissell steam mop AND drying the floor with a white towel.

Construction: Bissell wins hands down. Not only the build is more uniform, you do feel how solid it''s built. No doubht it''s twice as heavy as the Shark''s (7lb vs 3lb), the added weight is a GOOD thing (as long as it''s not too heavy) because it puts slightly more pressure on the floor for better clean.

The pads: Bissell wins again in this department, I feel Bissell''s will last longer than Shark''s. I don''t like the shark''s Velcro-approach. Bissell''s has elastic band around the top, and it''s adjustable as well.

The move: It''s true that Bissell''s allows 360-degree spin, while Shark''s only allow front-back move, Bissell''s got the right idea but failed to execute properly. There''re times that the mop doesn''t go in the direction that I want. Having said that, I still prefer Bissell''s over Shark''s.

The steam: The size of water tank on both mops are similar, but the Bissell''s can run out quickly given one would conveniently pull the trigger on constantly while mopping, not to mention the mop releases TONS of steam. It generates so much that the pad is already soaking wet in the first couple of minutes. Now I see why some people who have used Shark''s feel like it''s mopping with a dry rag. It may not be an issue for those who live in dry weather, but it definitley is a concern for hardwood floor owners, sealed or not, or even those who want to use the mop on tiles (or other hard surfaces) but the surroundings is humid. I would suggest Bissell adding some tips so users wouldn''t apply too much steam, or simply modify the design to reduce it. Bissell''s has a water filter which could mean the mop can last longer, but then I also wonder how much the replacement cost could be.

My verdict... as much as I like how the Bissell''s is built, I''m going to keep the Shark''s with me. The Bissell''s just generating way too much steam that it will take a long time to dry if not being addressed.

I purchased this steam mop because I love "clean", but hate the time it takes to get there. Here are the pros and cons on this product IMO: Pros: generates lots of steam FAST; the mops are very easy to put on and take off using hook and loop fasteners; very light appliance and easy to push around; loooong cord; the powerful steam really does pick up dust and dirt effectively. The reason I''m giving this two stars is because: the handle is weak and feels flimsy to use (and if you have to constantly be pushing it forward to generate steam it should feel sturdy); the mop head stays in a fixed position and does not swivel, therefore; does not get in hard to reach places like the base of the toilet or tough corners. Because the above is my main reason for purchasing an appliance like this I was disappointed it didn''t perform up to my expectations. I returned this product and purchased the Bissell Green Tea instead and love it!

This mop is not going to be a magic wand, but it is better than most products.

Okay, here are some ways that it could be improved: The handle is a bit flimsy. Also, if the mop itself would pivot, that would be a big plus. Also, the replacement pads are way to expensive. The mop cleans super well, but does not do well with corners and you will still need to bend over to wipe up the dust mess that the mop pushes in front of it. The pads don''t pick that stuff up well, but the more I use the mop, the less I see of it. I think that even though my floors looked clean, they were really dirty when I first used it. The cord also slips off the handle there''s a system to keep the cord out of the way, but it does not work really well.

I do feel like my floors are far cleaner than other methods I''ve tried swiffers and I had a Hoover Floormate that bit the dust after a couple of years. Neither of those products did corners well either and the floor just feels cleaner with steam than with either of those devices. The Steam mop takes me about 10 minutes to use on my kitchen floors. They are vinyl and the dimensions are about 18 x 15. You do have to vacuum before you mop.

Several people commented that the mop is hard to push. I have found that it is a bit harder on floors that have texture, but on my kitchen vinyl it just glides. If the mop is wet when you start or if the floors are super dirty, it will stick. I had some trouble with that on my bathroom floors because of the hairspray stuck to the vinyl. The more I use it, the cleaner my floors get, and the easier it is to push. On my laminate and tile floors it is even easier to push. It did streak a bit on the laminate when I used tap water, but with distilled water the streaks were minimized.

So, all in all it''s the best choice I''ve found out there short of cleaning on hands and knees. With the steam mop, you''ll still have to do your floors the old fashioned way on occasion.

OK, here''s some feedback from a one month user. Knowing full well how informercials go, I still thought that this product was somewhat of an innovation in hard surface floor cleaning. I also knew that I would be basically dealing with a steam iron on a stick. Kinda like a Swiffer on steroids. Please understand that I use this product on an off-white, vinyl, kitchen floor (the bane of my existence). I live in a two adult person home with no children or pets. Does it work? Yes, the basic idea is functional and the product does a pretty good job of loosening surface dirt. It''s quick, easy to use, and you don''t have to haul out the mop and bucket. In addition, unlike the Swiffer, there''s no dirt-magnet, cleaning product residue left on the floor. Are there some issues? Yes. The handle is a bit flimsy. Like the Swiffer, as you push forward (releasing steam) and then pull back on the mop, you''ll see a line of dirt/residue left on the floor. Well, this isn''t a vacuum. I just continue to push on the mop, accumulate the residue lines into one line, and wipe up the consolidated residue line when I''m done. After all, we''re essentially just pushing surface dirt around here! And, the first thing I did was to seek alternatives to the rather expensive "miracle cloth" pads. So far, I''ve tried cutting, doubling and stitching together an old towel, sewing on loop-sided Velcro (to align with the barb-sided Velcro-like plastic on the product). It worked OK, BUT no cigar! The next attempt proved more effective. I purchased some cheaper "miracle cloths" and used the mop to push one around. No need for the Velcro. The miracle cloth sticks to the mop bottom! I''m still experimenting. Is the product too expensive? Well, for a steam iron on a stick, maybe. But, as it usually goes, I''m sure we''ll see this product come down in price. If you buy these much hyped products early, you are basically rewarding an idea and trying something different. Am I satisfied? I must be. I just bought one for my daughter! Hope this provides you with some perspective on the product.

PUR 18 Cup Dispenser Save 28% Off

PUR 18 Cup Dispenser with One Pitcher Filter DS-1800ZGreat water filter and pitcher. Durable and stylish.

Update 10/24/12: Still working amazingly well. Just pop it in the dishwasher every time I change the filter and its good as new.

This is a great water filter and it gets plenty of use in my household. If anything I could say "I wish it held more water," (I drink 3+ litres of water a day and it seems that I am always filling the darned thing up) but that would be an unreasonable request. Who would want a dispenser so large that it would be unwieldy to carry to the refrigerator? No one not even me. So I bought a second one so that one of them is always full! This dispenser is slim so that I can easily fit two side by side in my refrigerator. (Can''t have too much of a good thing!) And this filter/dispenser is definitely good it has a large fill "basket" and the 2 stage filter produces water that is completely taste and odor free. I could easily tell the difference in my drinking water! Lastly, the filters (with usage indicators) are long-lasting. I have filled my first dispenser twice a day for 1 1/2 months and it still hasn''t reached the half way point. Very impressive results! Highly recommend.

My wife and I have immensely enjoyed the wonderful water we get from our Pur filtration pitcher, which uses the same filters as this dispenser.

It''s very convenient -just pour water into the top, and it will, albeit slowly, drip through the filter. Over time, as the filter clogs, it will get slower, so the key is to add more water every time you pour more out -that way, it''s filtering while you are drinking and you aren''t waiting.

It''s actually much more convenient than the faucet-mount filters, which inevitably leak and get painfully slow and force you to wait...

Pur is better than Brita, by the way, if you get the Ultimate filters, which filter out cryptosporidium and giardia in addition to chemicals and gunk. Brita doesn''t do that; it''s an important feature if you have iffy water systems (Mexico, Russia) or a weak immune system...

We got this pitcher for our family of 6 almost 3 years ago, and have used it constantly since. It does fit nicely in a fridge, but we keep it on the counter because it gets used so often and I don''t like the fridge door opening all the time. We have a smaller Brita pitcher for the fridge, and there is a HUGE difference in the taste. The Pur is much better. We live in NYC, which has heavily chlorinated water. With this Pur filter, we can''t taste the chlorine at all.

We have found that after a couple of weeks (sometimes less) the filters really slow down. At first we''d just replace them, because even with replacing the filter every couple of weeks it''s cheaper to filter water than to buy it pre-bottled. (My daughter just did a science project on the fact that bottled water is almost completely unregulated, so filtering your own tested/regulated tap water is probably safer anyway.) However, we have since discovered that if you pull the filter out and soak it in cold water for 10 minutes, the same as you do when starting a new filter, the drip speed increases again. Now our filters really last the month or two they''re supposed to.

I have never had a problem with mold or mildew with this dispenser, a problem that some people have with Britas. I wash it every once in a while when I see dust in the top part, but I''m really amazed at how clean and fresh it has stayed all these years. It is really convenient to use though it''s a little heavy to return to the fridge once it''s filled (another reason ours stays on the counter).

I''m on this page now just because our dispenser has (finally) started to leak from the spout. There aren''t many products that can be used heavily for 3 years without a single problem! So after I finish this review, I''m going to buy another one. I don''t know of any better, safer, cheaper, more delicious way to keep a large family hydrated.

The ds-1800 / ds-1800z does the job, if slowly. Rough ballpark is that if the base is 1/3rd full and you fill the top to full, it''ll take 40 minutes (yes, I timed it) for it to filter (slows down towards the end.) If you''re starting from empty, you are looking at over an hour to a full container.

The filter spec sheet lists mostly high-90''s for percent-removal of lots of things, except for MTBEof which it only removes a minimum of 70%, and a maximum not much higher...still under 80%. Given how common MTBE pollution in water is these days (thanks, California!) and its carcinogenic nature, that''s pretty poor.

Also, Pur only rates it for a maximum of 2 gallons a day, and "approximately" 40 gallons per filter "depending on local water conditions". They warn you that the filter''s performance drops rapidly, but there''s no way to tell how long that''ll be, even if you have your water tested!

Watch out as the top is not 1/2 of the size of the bottom. The bottom is about 1.5x larger than the top. A line on the inside of the lower reservoir for a "don''t fill the top to full when the reservoir is above this" would be a good addition.

The amazon description is slightly misleading; it does not have a "filter life indicator". It has a sticker showing a 12 month dial, and a second sticker to place on that. A molded in dial with spinner would be an improvement and all that''s necessary (the brita lcd thing is silly.)

The spigot lever is strongly spring-loaded and cheaply built. If you pull it down and then let go, it will smack the side of the container very hard.

Make sure you insert the filter with the tabs aligned with the hole; you''ll see a lock-down mechanism that seats the filter after you give it clockwise turn. The instructions do not mention this. Also, the filter may seem like it sits too high in the upper tray, but the inlet slats go down almost to the o-ring, so don''t worry about it draining the upper tray.

FreshAir Surround by Vollara

FreshAir Surround by Vollara with ActivePureWe live in a dusty place--agriculture nearby, windy conditions and a relatively dry climate mean constant dust. Plus we are in an area of high air pollution with coal-fired power plants. I find lots of dust in the house, and I know it makes me uncomfortable. We purchased the EcoQuest Fresh Air Purifier during a home show, and I find it lives up to its promises of cleaner air, though there is certainly a downside to using it (more about later.)

How it works

Some air purifiers work by filtering the air--they bring IN the air with a fan and blow it across a filter or precipitator to remove the dust. But the EcoQuest is different; it bombards the air with ions that make the dust fall down and break apart. While this sounds like science fiction, it is a well-known method of precipitating particles in many applications. Therefore, one EcoQuest works on a large area--in our case we use one for the main part of the house which is open plan and find it controls dust in the great room, the upstairs hallway and kitchen. (maybe a 1700 sq ft area.) When we need dust control in the bedrooms, we just move it in there. Normally, ours sits on the top of the stairs where it can reach the great room, hallways and kitchen.

This is the major advantage of the EcoQuest--since it doesn''t rely on bringing air into it, you can position it to cover a large part of a house.

Appearance and Operation

The Ecoquest Fresh Air Purifier is a squarish box, black in front and with faux rosewood plastic on the side. I guess it is about as unobtrusive as you can get, not pretty but not ugly either. It is the size of four or five phone books standing on end. There is a front panel with lcd readout and press-membrane style controls.

The unit has an ultraviolet light that generates ozone and then inside, there is a plate of ceramic covered with a metal screen. This is the ion generator.

The fan has several speeds, from one to five, five being the loudest and fastest.

The UV lamp in our unit, with fairly constant use, has been in service for two years and has not shown any signs of burning out. So far, so good.

You can choose settings based on the size of the area you wish to clean (small bedroom, car interior, large open room). We live in a pretty large open area, so we usually leave the unit on the 1750 sq ft setting.

You can choose how long to leave on the unit from 2,4, to 6 hours continuous operation, on high. This setting is for cleaning the house while you are gone. We choose to use this on days when the dust is getting to us, and we leave the house.

When we come home we notice:

1. The dust on the furniture is smaller in texture, and the carpets feel soft. The claim that the dust is broken down seems to be true.

2. We notice the lightning-struck smell of ozone. Some people find ozone a pleasant, fresh smell, but in large amounts, it is an irritant to me, and more than a little will give me a royal headache and makes me cough.

The Down Side

So, now, to the down side of the EcoQuest. The UV light generates ozone, and the ionizer plate apparently does as well. Ozone for many people, especially asthma suffers, is quite irritating. It''s actually a toxic gas in large amounts. So one has to go cautiously with the EcoQuest and air out the house. Ozone is used by fire remediation to purify air after a disaster, and also to remove stubborn odors. It''s a valid technique to purify air, as long as you remove the ozone afterwards. On its own, ozone is actually a pollutant. But it is a reactive type of molecule and breaks down, so getting rid of it is not difficult.

Maintenance

Monthly maintenance is required if you use the EcoQuest regularly or if the air is dirty. If you forget, a light goes on, indicating it''s time to clean the ion generating plate. There is a ceramic plate inside you remove by unscrewing a back plate Then you vacuum off the plate and dust out the inside carefully. This takes us about 15 minutes.

Parts to replace would include the ceramic plate and the UV lamp. So far, in two years of constant use, we have not had to replace anything.

Summary

The EcoQuest lives up to its claim of reducing dust by breaking it down and by generating air-freshening ozone. However, too much ozone is a pollutant in itself. Therefore, you have to use it carefully and be mindful that if you cannot tolerate ozone, this may not be the purifier for you. As long as we don''t crank up the ozone, we are quite happy with the unit. We have enjoyed good operating life with little maintenance so far.

Hands down this is the best air purifier I ever used. I used the Ionic Breeze and the Oreck XL and they don''t even come close to this unit. My friend let me borrow his unit because I was complaining how I was having problems getting rid of my cat odor in my room. Oreck XL was close in getting rid of the odor and The Ionic Breeze was a useless piece of junk. The Ecoquest got rid of my cat odor COMPLETELY.

I would get the ECOQUEST version though cause I think ECOQUEST bought out Alpine and updated the unit with more advance features like the lighted digital display, a "Go Away" feature, and added a remote control. You can get at ebay for around $300 for about the same price as the useless Ionic Breeze.

The unit works well eliminating dust and odor. Most of my friends who have this machine have the same complaint that I do Maintenance and new parts. They tell you that you never need to buy another filter. This is true, but the lamp ($17) always needs replacing (this is the 3rd one in 18 months) and friends of mine have complained that they have needed to replace the plate many times. Since you cannot buy parts at your local store, you need to get them online and wait while your machine is out of commission. You need to clean the machine at least once a month. It is not like other machines that just snap open. You need to unscrew the back panel, front panel and inside panel. It is amazing how dusty the inside gets! The filters are easy to wash down. Like anything else, when it is working it is great.

Many people do not understand what ozone is, therefore they are afraid of it and say all manner of inaccurate statements about it. The reason air purifiers and especially the Ecoquest air purifiers work so well is that they are modeled after nature itself.

Ozone is created in nature all the time, especially around moving water, in the mountains and after thunderstorms, to clean the air, but in conjuction with water it does more. It is also found wherever there is pollution...and there is a reason for that. There are several things ozone was designed to do. To name two: clean/purify the air of pollutants and kill mold.

A molecule of ozone is O3 while oxygen is O2 and water is H2O. Here''s a picture that might help in understanding this entire process and the bad rap ozone gets from some. If there is a fire, then the firemen are alerted and they go to the fire to fight it and put it out. Now, if we started saying that firemen cause fires, because they are always there whenever there is a fire, that would be silly. It''s the same way with ozone. Calling ozone a pollutant or saying it is the cause of pollution is not scientifically accurate. Ozone forms when there are pollutants in the air, therefore, the more pollutants there are, the more ozone there is.

The O3 actually has one atom of the three that is unstable. This is why it can clean pollutants out of the air. This unstable atom gets attracted to the pollutant atoms and puff!...it then oxidizes (burns up.)Then you have a clean oxygen molecule, O2, because the third one is gone! It continues on with this process until all the air is cleaned. This is especially helpful after a forrest fire, so again, that is why these machines work so well in rapidly getting rid of smoke damage even in wood in a home. It is beautiful in its simplicity.

Now, let''s deal with the toxicity of ozone...and asthma sufferers (I have asthma and I love what the air purifiers do in my home.) Would you agree that water is good for us? What if we were in the middle of the ocean and couldn''t swim? Sometimes in some situations too much of a good thing is not so good! But it does not make the actual item the bad guy...it is how one uses it. Anti-biotics are good for us, but getting too much has now created the very thing we were trying to stop. I am sure you can think of many such situations...fire is good, too much and used wrongly and it can mame and kill, etc.

When one goes hiking in the mountains, often it is said that the "mountain-fresh air" is just great. There is more ozone there. Even at its highest setting, less ozone is created in these machines than what has been determined to be an irritant. It is only a matter of enclosure. When I use my purifier on the highest output of ozone to "sanitize" a room or my bedding, I shut the door and let it do its thing. When I open the door, I can smell a lot of ozone. All one has to do, is then turn the purifier down or off, and open the door a few minutes! It dissapates almost immediately. We often have people enter our home and remark at how fresh it smells (and I have three cats.)

But...there are a few (very few in our experience) who have not liked the way our home smells...my daughter, for one. She just does not like it. She says it smells like bleach or dirty socks! So, we turn the purifier down. For us, we are so used to it, we do not even smell it anymore unless we have been gone for awhile...and then we only smell it a few seconds upon entering our home. (And that is not because our sense of smell is being destroyed! It is a natural thing that one gets used to ones own smells if one is around them long enough...hence, we often get offended by another or another one''s environmental odors while they are not...much, much evidence and examples can be used here...like I said, we smell it again if we have not been around it for while.)

Now as to mold and how the ozone works on it. The unstable atom of the O3 breaks off as it is attracted to the moisture (H20) in the mold. It attaches itself to the H2O making it H2O2. And guess what H2O2 is? It is hydrogen peroxide, and that kills mold! Another beautiful creation in nature for our benefit...and yet, when man discovers these things, we then can harness the discoveries to make them work for us in many, many other ways. Hence, a wonderful air purifier.

There is certainly not time, nor space, nor most likely interest to cover these subjects in their scientific entirety, but at least this general overview can address some of the inaccurate rumors touted today. The bottom line is that anything that can be good for us, if abused, misued, etc, can also be not so good. It is not good or bad in itself, it is how it is utilized.

I''ve had my EcoQuest Fresh Air Purifier for five years. I love it. My son and I both have asthma and before we purchased the Fresh Air unit, we would wake up with itchy eyes and sniffles every morning (no indoor pets). Almost every day, we''d take allergy medication leaving us drowsy, even if the packet advertised, "drowsy free". I hated sending him to school foggy from the meds and wondered what the long-term effects would be.

Since purchasing the Fresh Air unit, we''ve done away with our daily meds and our home smells fresh.

Occasionally, I''ll wake up with the sniffles and then I''ll notice the "needs cleaning" message is on. That''s proof that it''s effective.

I would''ve given it 5 stars except, I''ve had some maintenance issues. I purchased it from an EcoQuest sales rep., and have received great service. The parts aren''t expensive to replace, but the unit could be made with better quality parts. The wiring clips kept corroding. He changed out the cheap wiring and fasteners for me and that made a big difference on maintenance.

I''ve recommended it to friends and relatives who have experienced the same improved health from it.

Mr. Coffee CJX21CP 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, BlackI''m reading all of these reviews and it makes me chuckle. I bought my first one 3 4 years ago and it served us well for that time. 2 3 pots per day, it had a lot of use. I do miss the back light, but I never really used it to program the night before anyway.

Someone said the decanter drips.....well lift the lid a bit and it won''t.

Someone said theirs stopped brewing defective?? within warranty, return it / exchange it. Had it for a while?? Clean it that is why there is a cleaning function.

I purchased from the Marketplace for my most recent unit got a great deal and it brews like a charm better than Starbucks!! -I love the choice of brew we always go for the stronger using fresh ground French Roast or Sumatra. - Love it Love IT!!

This unit was obviously perfectly engineered -it lasted exactly sixteen days past the expiration of the one-year warranty. When it failed to heat up, I knew that I had been had by ''ol Mr. Coffee for a second time... this machine''s predecessor had expired at 14 months. I had hoped that the earlier failure was just a fluke, so I took a chance and bought another one. Silly mistake. There will not be a third. Out of morbid curiosity, I took it apart and performed an autopsy. I had initially hoped the problem was one of the two cheap thermal fuses inside, but it turned out that the heating element had burned out, so the whole thing went into the trash. It would appear that the Sunbeam folks who make these lovely things have cracked the code on building them to last precisely long enough to squeak past the warranty....similar to a Kleenex. My wife bought a Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Water Filtration, and after a couple of weeks this model stopped brewing coffee. I''m guessing there must be some kind of check valve that was sticking because, you know, as a last resort hit it. Banging it got it working again. Every 5 or 6 brews it doesn''t work, bang it.

It is probably going back to Costco.

I''m guessing this is a known problem?

I like this coffee maker. It is attractive, looks nice and makes a good strong pot of coffee.

I wish the clock was back lit. I like that it beeps when it is finished brewing. I have not encountered any electronics problems, but I don''t do any scheduling as I like to grind my coffee fresh right before I make it.

Our carafe pours beautifully, might be the smoothest most directional pour of any I have ever had. It slips in and out of the machine kind of clunky, but once you get used to it you adjust to the movement required.

We quit using the reusable charcoal filter and reusable basket after the first few uses as they require more work than we care to put into making a pot of coffee. I also don''t like washing coffee grounds into my plumbing and reusables require rinsing the left over grounds off. We actually like the taste of the coffee better with the paper filters and without the charcoal water filtration. At about 1/3 cent a day the filter cost is a non-issue

My last coffee maker was a hamilton beach and I hated it in the beginning but we got used to it and it lasted 11 years... I''ll be happy if this one lasts half as long.

The coffeemaker itself works fine, but the carafe is the worst I''ve ever used anywhere. It is almost impossible to pour from the carafe without having the coffee or water dribble down the side. It''s not just my own clumsiness. This is our office coffeemaker, and it happens to everyone. We are constantly cleaning up spills around the coffee maker. It is plainly a defective design. I recommend that you buy a different brand.

My Shop-Vac is a 12 Gallon Model 800L. In 2010, I added a Trash Can Cyclone Lid w/ a 5-gallon bucket to create a 2-stage system.

After having a malfunction that clogged the paper filter, I browsed the Shop-Vac website for a solution. I equipped the 800L with a

Gore CleanStream-Gore HEPA Cartridge Filter (Shop-Vac 9034000) and a Disposable Collection Filter Bag (906-62-00).

This created a 3-stage system that is effective for filtering all but the extremely finest dust.

I also replaced the Reusable Disc Filter on my Mini-Vac with a Super Performance Dacron® Cloth Filter (901-15-00).

I also purchased a Super Performance Dacron® Reusable Disc Filter (901-13-00) and a 3-Pack of Reusable Disc Filters (901-37-00) as backup for both vacuums.

Brita Ultramax Water Filtration Dispenser-1 ct

Brita Ultramax Water Filtration Dispenser-1 ctIf you can spare a little more room in your fridge I HIGHLY recommend buying this 2-Gallon UltraMax over the pitchers. It lies flat on the shelf and has a easy to use tap. MUCH MUCH better for kids and anyone else who has trouble gracefully lifting 3 quarts of liquid with one hand (read: most everyone). With this design you simply open the door and fill using the tap. With the pitcher models, the tilt and weight tend to be awkward and I think spill or overpour about 30% of the time -especially in the middle of the night. The Ultra Max hold about 2 1/2 times the water (less refilling) and costs only $3 more.

This change in taste has dramatically changed how much water I drink. Highly recommended. A great gift, especially for those people with the pitcher models.

I upgraded from the 3-quart pitcher to this model and I find I use this one more frequently (no lifting during dispense) and I find it very convenient in terms of how it fits in the fridge (perfectly) and its sheer mass (children can frolic in it during the summer months). But it suffers from three inadequacies: 1) it takes 2-3 fill-ups of the top chamber to fill the unit so you have to come back to it several times over the course of 15 minutes. 2) the cover doesn''t snap on so if the top resevoir area still has water in it the chance of you heaving a 2-gallon container into your Frigidaire without spilling any into the crisper is near nil. 3) if there are any dishes in your sink, this won''t fit there to fill up so you invariably have to pitcher the water into the top.

I wouldn''t hesitate to buy this again and I would highly recommend this over the pitcher, but it seems clear the design could be improved.

On top of holding more water in its main receptacle, the UltraMax holds even more than it seems. With the UltraMax, you can keep the receptacle ON TOP of the filter filled with water as well. This way as you dispense water for drinking, more water filters down into the main receptacle. When you refill, let the water filter down till full, then fill up the top part again. You will find that the unit lasts a very long time bewtween refills. You cannot do this with the pitchers because the water spills out of the top part when you lean them over to pour from them.

I believe I have the Optimax it might be the Ultramax. I find it to be very useful. I just keep a gallon of cold water in the fridge next to the brita and pour it in when it gets low so I always have cold water. You do have to take it out of the fridge to fill it up but it is no bother to me. I drink lots of water so it is very handy to have 2 gallons at my disposal. It can get costly to replace the filters if you drink lots of water. In the end it is better to buy a three pack of filters then to have to drag home a couple of gallons of water.

I bought one of these because I figured it would be easy to dispense all of the water I wanted, and the large size would help me not need to fill the pitcher all the time. I never really had any problems with the product. The water was decently filtered and the dispenser operated smoothly.

The real problem I had with it was how much of a hassle I always found it to fill. The jug dispenser was too large to easily fit in my sink, so I couldn''t fill it up that way. So I tried switching to a system of filling it up with consecutive glasses of water, but that was hard to do in the confines of my refrigerator. I would end up taking the whole thing out of the fridge, filling it up with a number of glasses of water then trying to move the dispenser with the top half full back into my fridge without spilling it. This really turned out to be too big of a hassle for me so the darn thing was always empty. I just went back to ye-old-fashioned pitcher and have never been happier.

Dial-A-Date Shower Water Filter KDF Shower Head

Dial-A-Date Shower Water Filter KDF Shower Head NOT IncludedWe are comtemplating a whole house water filter, but have not made that decision yet. Finding out that our skin was drying out because of the water in the shower, this was a great option to try out a filter without spending a fortune.

And for those who may not have the option of installing a whole building filter, this works well.

Well priced, easy to install, and it seems to work.

Wanted to reduce chlorine in our water and this filter really made a difference. Saw a difference in our hair the first time we used it soft and smooth instead of dried out. Will continue to use this type of filter. Just started using it but very pleased so far.

Sh-Wipe Terry Cloth Mop Cover Save 42% Off

Sh-Wipe Terry Cloth Mop Cover - Set of 6I am very disappointed in the quality of these terry cloth covers. They are not even close to the thickest of the previous ones that I had ordered. The fabric is very thin I will not be buying these again. It is impossible to know this when buying online. The brand is: Sh-Wipe Terry Cloth mop cover. I thought I was buying the original shmop covers. I donot recommend these!!!

This cover works great with the Shi-mop. I give it a four-star rating because I don''t like to rinse it and get my hands in the water. This can be prevented, though, by using several covers and changing them whenever they get dirty, then just wash them in the machine. They are made of cotton, so I like to hang them to dry. I gave a more extensive review for the Shi-mop itself.

Brita Vintage Water Filter Pitcher (White) Save 15% Off

Brita Vintage Water Filter Pitcher, WhiteThis pitcher makes me not want to drink water.

I had an old Brita filter that I liked, but I bought this product because I liked the larger size and retro look. I should have read the product reviews first.

It is terribly designed: 1) You can''t pour from this pitcher until all of the water has filtered through, otherwise you pour unfiltered water out, 2) If you fill it to the top, it runs over and unfiltered water leaks into the pitcher near the handle, 3) the lid is flimsy and the small pieces come detached easily, and 4) the white plastic interior reservoir has become discolored (with less than a year or use).

Don''t buy this product. Brita wildly missed the mark with this product.

Just as a quick review: We are returning ours. Yes the top falls off pretty easily but also, we continue to see a gap around the filter that allows the tap water to bypass the filter all together...and we bought two...and both have the exact same issues. The water does taste better but too many nuisances involved. Wish I had better thoughts about it.

Buy Brita Vintage Water Filter Pitcher (White) Now

I thought I would add my voice to the chorus of disappointed pitcher purchasers. This is my fourth Brita filter and by far the worst!

It''s made of cheap plastic (I remember the old ones were made of glass)

The curvy lid may look good but introduces two problems: first, you can''t bring the pitcher under a stream of water without soaking everything around you. Second, if you fill it too high (and there is no line to know how high too high is), water runs out of a little hole in the back and directly into the bottom of the pitcher! I understand you might need an overflow, but it shouldn''t run into the filtered portion of the water! That''s a bit like hooking up your toilet overflow to your showerhead!

Oh, and the lid sticks closed sometimes, or falls off completely at others.

Never again. And Brita has plenty of competitors now. I might have to invest in a rival system.

Like the shape and size. The only con I have is the top should have a latch it needs to be held down with my other hand when pouring the last few ounces of water out of the pitcher, this can be awkward at times. Other than that it''s great and I would recommend it to anyone.

As I write in every review i do my research i decided to buy this blender and it works, turns our dirty water clean and clear. I noticed some people complained about the lid. I have no problem with my lid :S, it pours just fine. The easy fill lid does open when tipping it way over near empty but the pitcher doesn''t have enough water when that occurs for the water to spill over..... This product is well worth the investment and i plan on continuing to use it for my childs formula.
