Waste King AH-1300-C Quick and Hot Instant Hot Water Tank

Waste King AH-1300-C Quick and Hot Instant Hot Water Tank
  • 1300 Watts
  • Stainless steel tank, self re-setting thermostat tank
  • 60 cups hour capacity
  • Easy fingertip temperature adjustment
  • heater protection with self-resetting therma fuse

I purchased one of these units approx. 4 months ago. At first all was working fine, then a couple days ago I noticed a leak under the sink. I quickly traced the problem to the Quick and Hot tank. I removed the tank and opened up the housing thinking that it may be a loose fitting or something simple. What I found was that two of the three studs that hold the heating element to the tank were completely broken off and laying on the bottom of the tank housing. Since the element was no longer pulled tight to the gasket through the tank, water was leaking around it. I contacted Waste King and was told that since I did not pruchase the unit from an AUTHORIZED dealer they would not cover the warranty. This was obviously poor workmanship and I even offered to purchase a new element, but was told that they do not sell parts and would not offer any other assistance. Sorry you are just out $160. Thanks Waste King. I''ll be purchasing a new one from a different manufacturer. I would urge others to do the same.

I used this unit as a replacement for the Hot Water Heater on a Franke Little Butler that failed after 7 years. The heating unit is almost identical, except was a later revision and had the Waste King label instead of the Franke brand on it. Works as advertised and functions identically to the unit it replaced.

This is my second unit. The first was installed by the previous owner so I don''t know how old it was I''m guessing 5 years old at least. It started leaking and was spitting hard water deposits into the water. After removing and taking apart the tank, I realized that the heating element was still good and if there had been an easy way to disassemble it for element and tank cleaning, I could still be using it except for the leak. The leak developed in the hose that sends the hot water to the faucet. This delivery hose is flexible and must be some sort of high temperature tubing, but eventually it gives out. Could not find a replacement hose or easy way to remove it from the faucet so I ended up buying a new unit. Overall I enjoy the unit and the convenience of hot water on demand, but I wish that replacement parts were more readily available (hot water tubing) and that the tank could be flushed. Just like your main hot water heater, if you have hard water, you are going to eventually get mineral deposits on the element and tank, but that drawback won''t keep me from buying it again.

The unit dispenses hot water. The water can be extremely hot. Yet the rubber hose that this thing comes with cannot handle the job. In 1 years time, the heat from the unit will degrade the hose until it is busted and leaks water. The hose is a special hose that can''t be found easily in hardware store to replace. The manufacturer don''t even sell the hose. Unless you want to buy a brand new hot water faucet every time you have a busted hose, I don''t recommend you buy this. Luckily I bought this unit from Costco and I can return it. But save yourself the trouble and just don''t buy this.

I''ve used my Quick and Hot for multiple years now. The original faucet part of the system failed and leaked and I replaced it last year. The new faucet is now leaking water under the sink. The source of the leak is the rubber hose that feeds the hot water from the tank to the faucet. The high temperature hose

seems to have deteriorated, the leaking area is thin and now soft. I searched all the local big and small hardware and plumbing stores in my area. They don''t carry or sell high temperature hoses. The original one is rated to 275 degrees. The Waste King website is useless for consumer help. Not wanting to spend another 100 bucks on a new faucet, I used a piece of 1/4 copper tubing. I attached a piece of good original hose to each end of the copper tube and secured it with a small hose clamp. Under the hose clamp I wrapped a couple layers of teflon tape to protect the rubber hose from the metal clamp. So far works great and should last until the rubber hose fails again. Waste King should redesign the unit without the rubber hose.

Bissell Proheat 2x Turbo Carpet Deep Pet Cleaner 9300-2

Bissell Proheat 2x Turbo Carpet Deep Pet Cleaner 9300-2I bought this originally from Costco...and after four shampoos, it stopped sucking up water. It did clean, but not perfect. Many of the stains that I tried to work on were still there after repeated cleaning and prepping beforehand. The attachments for sofa and carpeted stairs were a complete joke. They just left stains on my sofa, and didn''t have enough suction power to clean anything on the stains. I found a good spray of Oxyclean and rags pulled up more dirt that this machine. Renting a rug doctor carpet cleaner still seams like a better way to go...bigger water tank and more powerful suction. I paid $200.00 plus tax and got four uses out of it. If the machine broke after let''s say 24 uses, then maybe I wouldn''t feel so ripped off. I know these machines aren''t great to begin with, and not made to last (all parts are plastic), but throwing this into the landfills after barely any use is pretty terrible. Rug Doctor here I come!

The pro-heat two is easy to use and really makes the carpets look great. Its brushes bring up the nap to revitalize carpeting. To do my rather small house takes several water refills and emptying of the used water. I''ve had the pro-heat for over two years and have had to replace a few parts, but they are easy to find and order at bissell.com.

This thing was working fine for a year then the main carpet sprayer stopped working. The hand tool does spray and suck, so at least I can still use it for small jobs and stairs. Overall I would not recommend this product to the numerous complaints about the spray malfunction.

Bought this unit because I was tired of carrying bottled water from the store. Eventually I was going to break my back. This unit was very easy to install, and filters are extremely easy to replace. Water has a definite improvement in taste, before I could taste the chlorine but through the filter it taste crisp and light.

In the course of 11 months it only had a few drawbacks. For one the filter I don''t think lasts the rated 100 gallons. I started noticing the chlorine taste again after maybe around 80 gallons. I had been using about 11 gallons of bottle water per month, and I had to change the filter in 7 months. Also just before replacing the filter I noticed the seal between the faucet and filter unit began to leak a little. Not a huge deal but annoying to say the least.

Overall it''s still much better than having to haul and dispose bottles. Just change the filter when you notice the water taste starting to change and replace the seal when it begins to leak.

I''ve been trying to find a decent water filtration system for most of a year. It''s amazing how few there are out there. Two Britta systems failed miserably, with cheap, plastic connectors and water spurting out everywhere. I''ve heard nothing much good about Pur, though I haven''t tried them myself. So I went warily shopping and found an array of Dupont products, including this one that cost under twenty bucks. Expecting the worst, I brought it home and hooked it up within minutes. For more than a week now, I''ve been enjoying hassle free water with no gushing surprises. The switch turns easily, unlike that horrendous Britta that strained the fingers. There is not a single trace of leaking, spurting or spraying from odd sections of the appliance. The water stream is strong and steady and it comes from one orifice, not two, like the Britta and some other models. The water tastes great. Unless this thing explodes in my hand tomorrow, I''m more than satisfied. Go figure: I didn''t need to upgrade to the more expensive Britta models. I just needed to switch brands altogether.

After my old culligan turned into a Water Fountain and drenched my kitchen, I was looking for a decent inexpensive replacement. The water quality is better than that of my old culligan (which was about 5 years old) Easy install, and nice looking chrome finish. Well worth the price.

I have used a Dupont filter on my kitchen faucet for quite some years now and have been more than satisfied. There are 2 negatives to this product that I have encountered though. A couple years back mine broke off where it screws onto the faucet. I had just bought a new 3-pack of cartridges, so I replaced it with another Dupont filter. Now I just move the faucet instead and leave the filter alone. The only other thing I would like to see would be a sensor of sorts to alert you to change the cartridge.

  • Product Dimensions: · Overall height 10" · Spout reach 3-1/2"
  • Includes: Flange, quarter-turn ceramic disc cartridge, 10-year limited warranty - function and finish
  • Style / Application: Vertical metal lever handles
  • Manufacturer Part Number: D2036-20
  • Finish: Stainless Steel

We purchased this filtered water faucet for our new kitchen sink. The stainless steel is heavy and of very high quality. The neck is high and comes out almost a third of the way into the sink. An excellent distance for filling pots. The handle can be mounted for left or right side use and works very smoothy. My wife is thrilled with it. It is a little pricy, but it is solid stainless steel and heavy guage. It is worth every penny.

Feels like it is all metal and it works very smoothly. Installation was a snap, but the instructions were pretty minimal. If you are comfortable doing this yourself, then it does not matter that they are pretty worthless. Took me a few minutes total to install. The level turns smoothly and the faucet swivels. No leaks, no drips. I''m very happy with the purchase.

Purchased two of these after a lot of research to replace what we had (a whimpy snap lever model that leaked from the base and wouldn''t shut off all the time). This water dispenser is large scale, contemporary, and well constructed. The neck has a far reach, so easy to fill a pasta pot without having to balance the pot on a counter near the dispenser-easily fills a pot sitting in the sink. The water stream strength is awesome, so much so that you don''t need to put it on fully or you''ll have a lot of splash if you are only filling a drinking glass. Unlike cheaper dispensers where it is either off or on, this one lets you control the water stream. I would suggest if you are putting this in a kitchen sink that you also choose a larger style goose neck water faucet to match so as not to be overpowered by the scale of this water dispenser.

Faucet is a good value: looks great, handle works very smoothly, and has a good water flow rate. Also like, the fact that the handle stays on and doesn''t need to be held open for filling.

I am new to Reverse Osmosis (RO) filter sys. I bought a Intellitec water purity tester to check water quality. The tester reads Total Dissolved Solids(TDS), in parts per million (PPM). This is the testers water chart;

__RO, Deionization, Microfiltration, Distillation:~~~~~50 PPM

__Some bottled, Carbon filtration:~~~~~~~~~~~~50 150 PPM

__Tap water:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~150 400 PPM

__Well water (EPA max allowed 500):~~~~~~~~~~400 1000 PPM

My readings using copper and CPVC pipes in Detroit Mi. My RO is using these ISpring filters.;

__Tap water:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~98 PPM

__RO:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~25 PPM

__My Fridge filters the RO water one more time:~~~~~~~22 PPM

I ordered my filters with my Amazon account, but, using ISpring as the seller option. My RO is BareWater system. ISpring and I communicated a few times, I am new but confused with RO, their guidance was very good and fair.

Avoid the flood! These filters are NOT compatible with Watts Premier 5SV filters, contrary to the description in the website. These filters are exactly 10" long, whereas the Watts Premier filters are about 9 13/16" long. The extra length will not allow the Watts Premier filter housing to thread on far enough to seal properly, no matter how much you tighten them. The filters may be just fine, but the one-star rating is for the deceptive description.

From the website:

"Fits 10" standard filter housings, compatible to most RO systems, includes Watts Premier, Flowmatic, PuROLine, Crystal Quest, Apec, and etc."

Black Plus Blum Charcoal Refill Water Filter

Black Plus Blum Charcoal Refill Water FilterI live in the south. My tap water is not very tasty at all. I was excited to get this because of the positive reviews. I filled up a 1 gallon container and put the charcoal in the water and left it for 12 hrs. I''m not sure about the impurities and minerals and all that. I just know it does not taste like anything I want to drink. Yuck! Disappointed.

This stuff does what it is supposed to do. Although my feeling is the life span is perhaps not as long as is stipulated.

Homedics Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier for Baby Save 36% Off

Homedics Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier for Baby with Built-In Soundspa HUM-PED1It''s been 3 month of almost continuous use and I have only one complaint... if I run the unit on full blast all the time (I have it in my 200 sq.ft. bedroom now), I eventually find it sitting in a puddle of water. I believe this is due to condensation, meaning the air in the room has become so humid that the mist condensates back into water around the unit''s base instead of staying in the air. To combat this problem, I''ve turned the mist/humidity control down to halfway. I also placed the base on a Van Ness pet food mat: Van Ness Food Mat for Dogs and Cats that I bought at a local pet supply store for under $10, and I keep a wash cloth nearby to wipe up the drips when I lift the tank to refill it. The mat keeps the puddled water from ruining anything, if it develops again, which it hasn''t so far, because the lip on the mat keeps the water on the mat. These things seem to have worked, and (knocking on wood) so far I haven''t seen another puddle. I''ll keep the mat under it though anyway.

The humidity in the room is enough now that the static issues are gone and my skin and sinuses feel way better; I''m no longer so stuffy at night or dried out. I''m going to buy another one of these (and another pet food mat) for my office.

I have a couple of Venta-Sonic VS100 ultrasonic humidifiers in my house too. Both of those units are over 7 years old now and run pretty much full time in the winter as well. One unit sits in my living room and the other is in an upstairs hallway. Both of these locations are near the largest RETURN air vents for my HVAC system so the humidified air can also circulate throughout the house.

These units also do the same thing with water pooling underneath, but only when the humidity around the unit is high enough to make it condense, or I didn''t screw on the lid to the tank properly or I didn''t place the tank on the base properly. Both of those units are on waterproof mats too. I have also turned down the humidity level controls to help prevent the condensation, but lately it''s been very dry here in Colorado so I have to run them full blast.

I highly recommend everyone running ultrasonic humidifiers use some sort of waterproof catch mat under them, and keep a wash cloth nearby too. Make sure the mat has a lip all the way around the edge to prevent any pooling water from escaping.

As has been mentioned before, water will fall back on the machine if left on the highest setting for long enough. I have an air purifier and a regular fan moving air around my room 24/7, which is what prevents the moisture from coming back on the machine. If you put a fan near it, even on the lowest setting, I feel like you get the most out of this machine.

Buy Homedics Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier for Baby Now

Ive been tru tons of humidifiers cheap and expensive. This surprisingly has turned out to be one of the best. I''ve had mine over 2 years. It''s easy to fill, no nasty mesh filters to buy, no special cleaning methods... It''s just plain simple to maintain and use. An added plus is the "soundspa" it has too and auto shut off and cool blue night light. These are perfect in kids rooms, even just the soundspa if you don''t need the humidifier portion.... But even put one in our room. The light is just enough to see in dark, the sound quality is actually better than some stand alone sound spas. I will warn you based on some reviews about the wetness.... Having it on full blast is only meant for a short period of time to get humidity in a room fast. It''s not meant to leave on full blast the entire time or wherever you have it sitting will be soaked.... If you need something super powerful or one you can run in that mode for extended periods, it should be for a larger room and bigger unit. Tthis is meant for a standard bedroom size room. So remember best to place a small towel underneath, but full blast for about 5-10 minutes then turn down to a bit lower than half way. More than enough for the standard room and succeeds at doing what is what meant to do.

We purchased this from another retailer because we needed it immediately when our daughter was sick. We chose this because it is super easy to clean, easy to use, and a good price. We have been using it for months now, almost every night, and we really like it. It definitely keeps our daughter''s room more humid, and her happier. The little sounds that it makes are nice to lull her to sleep.

EDIT:

Now that we have been using it for a long time(over a year), we have found that it is very easy to get too moist in a small room (like our daughter''s room). We just click it on and don''t turn it up. I like the idea that we could use it in the main rooms and turn it up, as needed.

Hoover SteamVac Spinscrub 50 Carpet Cleaner Save 1% Off

Hoover SteamVac Spinscrub 50 Carpet Cleaner - FH50027This worked extremely well on my two area rugs downstairs. They look almost as good as new with bright colors and they look refreshed. The dirty water tank was pitch black after cleaning the entryway and living room rugs. The carpet upstairs looks good as well. The machine is easy to assemble and simple to operate. My only regret is that I did not buy a model with an attachment. I''m not able to clean the stairs with this. If you do not have stairs, I would recommend this.

If you''re going to buy a Carpet Cleaner, you might as well throw down the extra $20-$30 for the Upgraded Model of your carpet cleaner. That said, the Hoover SteamVac Spinscrub is a solid machine, but lacks a lot of the bells and whistles that the Hoover SteamVac with Clean Surge possesses. The Spinscrub has the same brushes and general cleaning power that the SteamVac with Clean Surge has, but lacks the Clean Surge (For more stubborn stains or for high-traffic areas, this SteamVac also has a Clean Surge feature, which sends an extra blast of cleaning solution into the stain by simply pressing a button on the handle), the 8 foot hose attachment with stair/upholstery nozzle for cleaning stairs or upholstery, and the many tools that you can use to clean other things besides just the carpet. If you don''t have pets or young children, have leather couches, and don''t anticipate ever living in a two story house with carpeted stairs, this SteamVac will serve you well.

That said, we love our SteamVac. It does a stellar job getting our carpets clean, getting all those random spots out, and because it sucks all liquid off the carpet, it allows for fast dry time. A very minor gripe is that the machine blasts through the water/detergent mix very fast, and doesn''t heat the water for you. This isn''t a huge problem for us, as we usually have some water heating on the stove while we''re cleaning, so by the time we run out of water, the next batch is ready to go. It can also be a hassle to clean out the cleaner, but in comparison to having to rent a carpet cleaning machine, it''s well worth the time and hassle. Recommended.

Buy Hoover SteamVac Spinscrub 50 Carpet Cleaner Now

I knew for the price I wasn''t going to get bells and whistles. I have 2 cats that do what cats do, hairballs, some easy to clean and some not. So over 5 years at our house, there were memories everywhere that if you looked really close you could see slight spots in the carpet.

The machine was easy to use, easy to assemble, and easy to clean up after. The results were very good. We have a short pile type carpet and it looks much better after cleaning. Spots I couldn''t get out by hand are gone.

The downsides: Apparently there was a document/documents in the discharge tank I was unaware of because when I went to empty the tank it was full of paper debris. Lots of paper debris, big pieces of paper! The lid on the discharge tank is easy to put on wrong, no seal, no suction. And if you forget to put the measuring cup back in the fresh water tank, you have more issues :( My issues seemed to be self inflicted so I didn''t hold it against the carpet cleaner.

Finally, the day after I cleaned all my carpets, one of my cats spit up in four places. I got the biggest part with paper towels. I filled the carpet cleaner tank 1/4 full with water and detergent and 5 minutes later there were no signs of the accident. Very plussed as it is usually a real pain to clean up their messes!

The Spinscrub 50 is built off of the same platform as the other Spinscrubs, such as the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge. The two main differences are that it does not have either the hand tools or the "clean surge" feature. It''s not just that it doesn''t come with the hand tools it lacks the internal plumbing for the tools and therefore cannot ever use them. If you don''t want hand tools, then this is a nice addition to the Spinscrub line up. The lack of "clean surge" isn''t very important, IMO, because that feature can be replicated by simply making another pass or two over an area while dispensing cleanser (this is because the detergent is already mixed in with the cleaning water).

I''ve owned and used a Hoover SteamVac for six years, and I recently was given the opportunity to try out the Hoover SteamVac Pet Complete. Both are great units and are basically the same. so I was happy to have a chance to review this product (please note that my original SteamVac still works great after six years). If you read my review for the Pet Complete, you''ll see that the clumsiness of attaching the hose prior to using the hand tools was one thing that I''m not fond of. So, being able to try out this new version without hand tools was a great opportunity for me. Prior to my first SteamVac, I used a Bissell for about five years. They both have their pros and cons, but I like the Hoover best overall. The Hoover seems like a sturdier unit to me (I replaced the Bissell after it stopped pumping liquid, and the plastic seemed lighter and less sturdy on it). The Bissell was sleeker looking, as this Hoover is kind of commercial looking.

I have stain resistant carpets, so my experience could be different from others. I have cleaned up stains just with a cloth before, using Hoover cleaning solution and water. That said, this cleaner has worked excellently on pet stains that occur from time to time. Perhaps I benefit most from the ease of use. It''s fairly lightweight, easy to fill with water, and easy to operate.

Something unexpectedly nice about this model is that the lack of hand tools, and hence the holders for the hose that are on the handles of the other models, allows the handle to lay flat on the ground when you lower it to remove the dirty water tank. The other two models that I have wobble a bit because the hoses are on the carpet. It''s a small thing, but I like it a lot.

Things that I like:

Separate tanks for the clean and dirty water. Also, no internal water bladder like on my older Bissell. The tanks are all hard plastic and easy to fill/empty.

Very easy to use. Lightweight and easy to push around.

Fairly quiet. My dog Niki really dislikes my vacuum cleaner, but she doesn''t mind this machine too much.

Dries the carpet pretty well when you go over the carpet without dispensing liquid.

Handle lies flat on the ground (unlike the models with the hand tools) when lowered to remove the dirty water tank.

Things that I''d change, but that aren''t worth removing a star:

Being able to remove the dirty water tank without lowering the handle all the way to the floor. The clean water tank pops right out of the handle, and I wish that the dirty water tank was similarly easy to remove.

I wish that it heated the water. Perhaps it doesn''t make a huge difference, but it''s something that I''d like to have.

Overall, I''m happy with both designs and recommend this unit and the original SteamVac. If you don''t want hand tools, this is a great choice to save some money. If you do want hand tools, step up to the other models because you cannot simply add them to this model later on.

Want Hoover SteamVac Spinscrub 50 Carpet Cleaner Discount?

Let me start out by saying I''ve not tried this class of steam vac before. My experience has been with the big store-rented type and the little spot-removal type.

But WOW. I was very impressed. For a modestly priced steam cleaner, this thing packs a punch, and it is very easy to use. Had a few stubborn stains on my light-colored rug, and was able to get it out after doing a quick spot treatment, then running this vac over it. Although the stains aren''t completely gone (have no idea how they got there -maybe I don''t wanna know!), they have diminished so much that you can barely see them. A vast improvement.

There are three settings -a super scrub (fast spinning brushes), gentle (slower spinning), and off (for picking up spills). I found the "off" setting to be great after using the brush setting, because it picked up a ton more moisture from the rug even when it felt pretty dry.

The water compartments are easy to fill and clean. Overall, a very simple vac, but effective and easy to maneuver. It will pay for itself in just a few uses, especially if you have pets. A very good buy.
