I bought the Grandi Groom after reading about carpet rakes on Lifehacker.com. I was amazed at the result from the first time I used the product. I generally rake my carpet twice, once before vacuuming to raise the nap to expose the dirt and again after vacuuming for a final fluff and to get the vacuum streaks out. My guests are always amazed at how good my carpet looks and think I must have some type of special vacuum. Invariably they have never heard of using a carpet rake. Trust me, if you want your carpet to look good and last longer, rake it.

I purchased this broom to help with dog hair from two new dogs my family adopted. It was a big disappointment. The angle of bristles in the broom head are meant for someone much taller than I am say about 7 ft tall! Even if the bristles had been at the correct angle, they are too weak and flimsy to do what was described in the product info. I failed to see how this could bring out hidden dirt if used before vacuuming or how it could be used to "finish" look of carpet after vacuuming. The handle is way too long and too big around to get a good grip on it. The only way I could use the brush was to remove it from the handle and get down on my hands and knees. Not a very practical product if you have good, thick carpet that needs a little extra care.
