I''m using a light-colored tile with dark-colored grout. The tile is Roman style porcelain, which means that the tile surface has lots of little grooves and small holes in the surface. The grout tends to get stuck in these grooves, leaving the surface looking like it has chicken pox.Aqua Mix seems to be one of the few grout release products on the market. You can''t exactly just go to Home Depot and pick some up. But needing to try something, I gave this a shot.
The product was easy to apply. It has a very thick, mucous-like texture, leaving a very slick film on the tile surface. This did cause the grout to wipe off easily, but it didn''t do much to release it from all the little grooves.
In the end, the result was slightly less of the chicken-pox look, but it wasn''t quite the grout-free look I had hoped to achieve.
