Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System

Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration SystemI bought this and wasn''t sure what to expect. After quite a bit of research I did know this is a smokin deal for a filter which is NSF 42 and 53 certified. (You need that.) I also checked out replacement filter costs and frequency and this unit is very reasonable.

Pros: It filters water very well. I live in LA and the tap water is horrid. Both my Husband and I like the taste.

Filters are cheap and easy to instal. Whole thing is SUPER easy to use.

Cons: The Cold and Hot tanks only fill up one glass each before they have to do their thing to make it hot or cold. I was expecting something like a tankless water heater where the water runs past the hot coils. This has tanks...

It takes what seems like a long time to filter but once you get it going and you continually add water to the top you won''t run out.

This is not a con but you should definitely read the instructions on how to treat the filter before installing and using. ;) I didn''t do it right so I just had to drain it and start over. Not that big of a deal.

Overall, I love it. Money well spent!!

I own the 2 gallon Cuisinart CleanWater System and have been using it for 3 weeks with no problems. The cold water is cold, and the hot water is HOT. Set up was minimal with the exception of soaking the filter. I have not experienced any leakage or any problems whatsoever. My family has not bought bottled water since we started using this. I really love the design and how it fits neatly in the corner of my kitchen counter tops.

The product works fine in terms of filtering and cooling water, but it''s really LOUD and even in Energy Save Mode, the fan runs almost constantly. After awhile you start to forget about it, since it''s a steady white-noise, but then it stops and you realize how nice and quiet everything just became, only for it to turn back on a few minutes later. You wouldn''t think a major concern about a water filtering system would be the noise, but I''m honestly ready to set it out for Goodwill...

It worked fine for the first three weeks. Nice clean water taste, nice cold temperature.

Then it stopped cooling the water.

I called Cuisinart, and they said, oh yes, no problem it happens all the time. The cooling unit has frozen and just needs to thaw. Unplug it and leave it off for several hour to thaw.

Hmmm, I thought it''s brand new, and I have to unplug it to work properly? Not a good sign.

Replace it with a new one? Maybe but that means pack it, pay for the shipping to return and the shipping for the replacement.

Since I unplugged it, the water has been tasting extremely like plastic. So tonight I called Cuisinart again.

They said, oh yes, no problem it happens all the time. If the water tastes like plastic, just flush the system with eight cups of pure lemon juice.

I don''t have eight cups of pure lemon juice on hand, so who knows how this will be resolved.

But a word to the wise if you do buy this lovely device, budget some measure of your time for troubleshooting.

We just received our Cuisinart water filtration system from Amazon on Friday and have been using it all weekend. The directions to set it up are easy to follow and really looks nice in our kitchen.

Like many people we wanted to go away from bottled water to help the environment and save money at the same time.

We selected the WCH-1500 to pick up the hot water feature and it immediately replaced our tea kettle which has sat on the stove for years. The temperature is perfect and instant hot water is a real plus.
