It can take ten to twenty minutes for the flow to increase enough for use. Then you boil them for five minutes to sterilize them.

My only concern with this product is that it appears to be manufactured in China. The instruction sheet says "Printed In China." There have been too many incidents involving products manufactured in this country. We use the distiller to purify drinking water and the water then is filtered through a product of dubious origin. Just something to think about. What ever happened to products manufactured in the U.S.of A?

3-stars because: the price on the filters has almost Doubled in just a few years without any improvements. also, i''m sure the designers could''ve made the filter somewhat larger so that it not only does a better job at filtering, but Lasts longer. guess they''re making their money this way.
