I bought this because I was getting a new kitchen faucet and the new one was a pull down sprayer. I could no longer use my Pur filter that attached to the faucet directly. I for the life of me tried to find a difference between this one and this model, Filtrete 4US-MAXL-S01, that Amazon also sells. The only thing I could find was a difference in the physical size of the filter. However, both said they were rated for 6 months. This one used a smaller filter so it would take up less space and the filter replacements were a little cheaper too. Not to mention the bigger one cost about $15-$20 more at the time. I bought this one and the one thing I didn''t like was the faucet piece was all chrome. Everything else on the sink was a stainless looks so I went a got a few cans of spray paint and taped the parts I didn''t want to get paint on and sprayed a few layers over a few days. I was really happy with the look afterwards. The install was pretty easy and the instructions were easy to follow. My only complaint was the T adapter that is included. It is plastic and I would have really liked to have it made of metal. I had no issue connecting it to the shutoff value or the tubing to the filter. Connecting the supply line to my kitchen faucet was the issue. I had a hard time getting it tight enough to not have a very slow leak. I eventually go it, but think metal would have been better and easier. I''m sure cost is the reason for no metal though. Also the screws provided for the bracket to mount the filter seemed to strip easily. I got them fairly tight, but would use different screws if I ever had to move it. Other than those 2 complaints the installation was as good as could be expected. I did have a little difficulty getting it lined up just right over the old sprayer hole in the sink. The hole for the sprayer and this were almost identical it seemed. A slightly wider base piece would have made that a little easier on installation. Overall I am happy with the looks and performance of it. I have been using it for about a week and a half and it has worked great!
