Awesome! really got me on my way. everything you need to start distilling. Not much to say except that its very basic and self explanatory. I use it for hydrosol of plant solutions but you can use it for any kind of heating and condensing you wish. seems durable and glass is very nice. Note this is a graham condenser so you will need to orient it as shown, they don''t work too well if not assisted by gravity but it will work, you just need to keep a closer eye on it so your condensate doesn''t get pushed back the wrong way! if you were to have the condenser tilted off of vertical appreciably, the area where it attaches to the boiling flask arm will get filled with condensate, a little careful wiggle can help this or just set it up as shown in the picture. I also use an inexpensive metal coil hot plate but you can use your gas stove or an alcohol burner. Go wild!

I have had this kit for about a month and find it all to be high quality. I did not use the enclosed clamps and stand, so I don''t know how they would work. Since I distill a lot, I mounted my kit on a permanent lab work board. The condenser is more than adequate, only a little water needs to flow to keep it cool. I could detect no leaks at the ground glass connection joints, either by sight, smell or soapy water.---garwicke

Item inexpensive and as described, however it has evidently been used before, residue in flask. I would have thought the used nature of the product to be mentioned in the description. At least there is no claim that it is new.

For the price its an excellent apparatus. I didn''t really use the extension on the side arm since the hose did not properly fit my sink which led to my only complaint.. There was slight distillate buildup in the side arm since it is not tilted downwards/there''s a rise in elevation from the sidearm horizontal tube to the 90 degree turn. However this would most likely be solved by actually using the sidearm extension instead of attempting to cool right at the mouth.

It works well and was good quality for the price. The boiling flask appears to have been used previously but nothing that a bit of warm water couldn''t clean out. Condenser appeared to be new.
