no more spots on glasses or scale on the fixtures...and we have EXTREME hardness +240, also PPM in water is less with this filter 288 ppm than with my previous carbon block filter 298 ppm, normal tap here is 360 ppm...wierd as this is only advertised as a softening filter, but it seems to filter as well! $20 cheaper than the carbon block
