I have tried many different filters at many different prices for our home water softener system. This filter provides the absolute best "bang for the buck". A 5 micron filter is really ideal for optimum filtration (lower than 5 micron filters don''t seem to last as long and higher micron filters don''t seem to perform as well) this filter takes out the "bad stuff" (sediment/iron/whatever) and lasts around the 3 month lifespan a decent filter should. A great value here.
