Cant live without my humidifier. Furnace is the only way to go. Portable units are a pain and noisy! Don''t be surprized by the filter''s appearance. It looks like it is plugged with white gunk. That''s normal. Be sure to change it every year.

a necessary annual cost if you have a humidifier. Cost a whole lot less if you supply it than if the technician "sells" you one when they do fall maintenance.. Got absolutely no beef from the service guy.
