I have two other reverse osmosis systems in my house but needed one that provided a greater GPD for a more demanding application. The water in my area ( GREAT LAKES ) has many minerals. After processing through the RO filter it comes out tasteless and ( literally) smooth. The only thing that I would have liked as an option would have been a larger storage tank. My stand alone ice maker uses a lot of water. If you have ever had an ice maker you may know what a chore it is to keep clean when you have really (HARD) water. I thought the freight charge was a bit high but this comes in a very large and somewhat heavy box.

The over all product is good. Has nice features and produces some good quality water. Glad I got the clear first cylinder to monitor the condition of the filter. Just after a month of use, the first filter has caught a bunch of small rust and sand particles. It''s crazy to know that this much debris is in my city tap water. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the installation wasn''t exactly the easiest.

Super fast delivery, quailty construction and great tasting water for half the cost! Clear first stage helps with filter/water condition and viewing. Tubing color helps with system connections. Changing filters is a snap with easy connetions, provided cannister wrenches and drop in filters. Installation is simple if instructions provided are followed. You need toolsto install-drill, mine was a 5/8" metl drill bit for the hole for the faucet since my sink wasn''t set up with the extra hole and small drill bit for the drain line. Other tools included wrenches, pliers, awl (or soemthing to set drill bit location on metal sink), screw drivers and a torpedo level (to mount system level).

Recieved the unit well before time promised. Although it was packed well the input fitting on the first filter housing got broken, probably because the box looked like it was dropped on its side. No problem though as it is a threaded 90 and jambing a 10" flat blade screw driver into it got ot out. If this happens to you make sure to use 3 wraps of pipe tape on the new one. And guess what! You get 2 spares in the package. The instructions did not mention it but the little blue 3/4 ring on the fittings has a raised edge so it may be removed and the spider lock can be released so the tubing can be removed and the fittings reused. You also get 3 spares just in case.

This is only the first day of use and we will have water testing done as we are on a well but I expect good results and will add to this review as necassary.

As far as the supplier goes, Great support! Had to ask a couple of questions and E-mail response was excellent. When I sent an E-mail to make sure the broken fitting was threaded I got a phone call within an hour with an answer.

As of now I highly recommend this unit. If your water pressure is low buy the one with the booster pump.

It has been 5 1/2 months now and I can only rave about this unit. Ice maker doesn''t gunk up and the smell from the ice is gone. The cat fountain stays much cleaner and as an added beneflt we no longer need the filter in our table top humidifier which will save about $100 a season and very little cleaning is needed.
