My Bissell Green Tea steam mop basically just died only a year after I bought it, I used it twice or three times a week and even though it was better than a regular mop I was never overly thrilled with how wet it left the floors, a sure sign that it wasn''t hot enough.
After reading tons of reviews etc I went to the Haan website to see if they had any new products and yes they did, I read about them and then went searching for the best online deal.
I chose the HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer because I liked the versatility, although I am not sure how much I will use the hand held. I assembled it in five minutes and got cleaning my floors and my 2 area rugs. The steam is very hot and there is no need to keep pressing a button, it cleans extremely well and basically your floor will take a second or two to dry, I did about 800 sq ft with just one pad and it still wasn''t soaked. I then did both my rugs with the carpet tool, that you attach instead of the pad. Honestly, I never take the time to write reviews but I have to say I am very impressed and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a superior steam cleaner for the home.I always had a thing for mopping. I can admit that.
But nothing has ever cleaned as well and slayed my allergies in one purchase. My bathroom is spotless.
The handheld sold me on this unit. It''s as hot as advertised and I really can tell the difference. The dirt softens and after using it on carpet, I don''t know how I lived with a dog this long and didn''t have one. I vacuumed, steamed the carpets and then vacuumed again. The second pass with the vacuum required me to clean out the canister TWICE because it picked up so much dirt & dog hair. I am amazed... and vaguely disgusted.
The steam is hot enough that there is little moisture on the carpet itself. It dries in a jiffy.
However, I suggest that you do yourself a favor: go to the manufacturer website and get the noodle pads for pets. The ones that come with the unit are great. The noodle ones fill me with awe. They get in the nooks and crannies and leave no fur behind.

I just purchased this Haan SI-70 Multi Floor Cleaner / Sanitizer because I know several people who have Shark model steam floor cleaners and love them. However, Shark product durability seems to be an issue so I decided to go with a Haan which had better brand reviews. I ususally vacuum my floors and use my Swiffer which I much say I am happy with, except for the expensive disposable pads and cleaning solution. So the idea of this product to replace my Swiffer sounded great. However, when I first put together the steamer and tried it out (I did vacuum the floors first), I noticed that it left my porcelain tile floor very streaky and not that clean-looking. I took a clean white damp rag and passed it over the floor and the floor was still significantly dirty. I then decided to go over the whole floor with my trusty Swiffer and the pad quickly became extremely dirty with dirt that the Haan steamer had left behind. Also, the Haan pad wasn''t getting very soiled so I knew that it wasn''t actually picking up any dirt or actually cleaning the floor. I decided to wash and air-dry the pads, thinking maybe they had some manufacturing residue that was preventing them from picking up dirt. The next day I tried again, this time with Distilled water in case my water had a high mineral content that might be causing the streaks. I repeated the whole process, vacuum, steam mop, go behind it with a wet clean white cloth and then Swiffer the floor. The floor was still dirty. I want to note that the steamer was making some steam and was making the floor damp, but just wasn''t picking up dirt not actually cleaning the floor. I called Haan customer service because I figured either I was doing something wrong or I had a defective unit. The lady I spoke to actually told me "well, our floor steam cleaners are not actually supposed to CLEAN floors. They mainly just sanitize your floors to kill germs and bacteria. It will probably soften up your dirt, but NOT ACTUALLY CLEAN YOUR FLOOR." WHAT???Just wanted you to be aware. I am returning this in the morning. I don''t care if I have to pay shipping costs to send this back. A floor steam cleaner/sanitizer that doesn''t actually clean floors doesn''t have any place in my house. I certainly don''t have time to vacuum, then mop, and then go over my floors with a sanitizer! I am going to get the exact model of my Aunt''s Shark that she says cleans her floors (her pads actually get dirty, which proves they are picking up dirt!).

After using my HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer for the first time, I noticed that my laminate floors looked cloudy and when checking the pad it was only slightly soiled. I sat down and read the reviews for this mop. One reviewer complained about her mop pad not looking dirty and doubted the efficiency of her HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer. She wrote that the mop DOES NOT clean floors but only sanitizes them. I decided to make a phone call to Haan Customer Service to inquire about this. Well, much to my surprise, I was told that what I read in the review was correct. The rep clearly stated that this mop ONLY sanitizes and WILL NOT clean floors. I usually make all of my purchases with Amazon, however thankfully I bought this product at a local store, and I will be returning it tomorrow. I realize that the mop is advertised as a steam mop but I just assumed that it would also clean my floors. Another negtive for me is that it is heavy. I will stick with my Shark Pocket Mop. So far it has served me well. Please, just know that if you want clean floors, this is not the steam mop for you.Want HAAN SI-70 Multi Multiple Purpose Floor Steamer Discount?
After I left 5 star review at first, I need to update potential buyers on this Haan steamer. Mine broke after 3.5 months of use and I read all reviews and it has happened before to others. My steamer stopped teaming and squirts water instead, the heating part broke. I wa mopping my kitchen floor and right in the middle of it it stopped working. Again I have to pay for shipping to return/replace, but I see many other users also had the same issue with power or heating part and as much as I loved it before, I feel that for $115 that I paid, mop should work at least 5 years, not 3.5 months! Very dissapointed in HAAN, as it was rated #1 in steam mops by consumers :( Not sure if I want to get another replacement if problem is well known to the company and there is nothing that they would do to correct it. Poor business practice.
