We installed this filter about a month ago and I am very pleased with the purchase. I haven''t noticed any difference from the brand name item which I usually purchased, other than cost savings which I much appreciate as well as the convenience of having it sent to my mailbox. It took a little longer than I expected to arrive but a little better planning on my part can solve that problem.Having purchased all our refrigerator filters from Home Depot and Sears over the years, I''d done extensive research on refrigerator filters online before buying this product.
1. The immediate eye-catcher was the price: $57.99 for a 3-pack inclusive of S&H! That''s a couple of $ cheaper than the seller''s website. This breaks down to $19.33 per filter, which is approx $15 cheaper than the store for an OEM product.
2. Sifting through comments for alternative filters, looking through Youtube videos, etc., and reading about some exploding filters stories, the manufactures specs and related product reviews helped.
3. Vetting the details such as Flow Rate, Operating Temperatures, Min/Max Operating Pressure, and Life Capacity is important. I found cheaper filters that didn''t seem well made and saving $3-$4 isn''t worth the risk of water leaks, etc.
After a week''s use, the product holds up well to the eco-friendly claims listed on:
