This product is surprisingly dense and sticky compared to my experience with silicone grease. It is probably well-suited as an O-ring lubricant, but even better as a solution for heavy weight-bearing applications where the lubricant must remain in place for repetitive motion. I should point out that Dow Corning does not call their product silicone lubricant either on the tube or on the box, nor do they specifically use the word "silicone" in the ingredients.
