These filters hold up well...well enough that I just replace it once a year. I toss the old one when I put it away in the spring and start with a fresh one in the fall. I''m not sure why, but they are much cheaper ($4.50 + a few dollars s/h depending on quantity) through the Lasko''s online store at than Amazon''s current price of $20.22.
