This kind of filter is easy to hook up and replace.

I bought this one to modify my GE reverse osmosis system.

The reason I modified my reverse osmosis system is the waste of wafer.

It is a 4 to 1 unit meaning that it takes 4 gallons of city water to produce 1

gallon of purified water and dumping 3 gallons to the sewer.

I hooked it in serial with other 2 large filters in the reverse osmosis system.

They produces a fresh, clean, ordorless water that I can use for cooking, drinking.

The clean wafer come out instantly every time I need. It''s more than sufficient.

It''s been running for about a month w/o any issue or concern at all.

Apartment and condo units, especially those on lower floors of older buildings, may have higher water pressure than this filter can handle. If your water pressure is above 100 PSI, you may find that the filter''s connections aren''t strong enough to keep the tubing connected to the water line it''s not possible to get the connection both tight enough to eliminate leaks and loose enough to prevent the connecting tubing from being blown out by the water pressure.

It was easy to install and I think it would work fine in a single family home. I just wouldn''t recommend it for an apartment or condo dweller in a lower-floor suite. On the other hand, it''s nice to have a clean ceiling!

The GE GXULQ Undersink Filter System was so easy to install that even I could do it. Nothing to attach to the faucet like other filtering systems. To replace cartridge, just twist & pull then push & twist!

Our local water utility changed to a cheaper treatment method that left our water tasting & smelling like a swimming pool.

This unit is effective at removing chlorine taste & smell for a reasonable cost and does not require a separate faucet. Our water is once again drinkable right from the kitchen tap. Water flow is slightly diminished but acceptable.

Installation is very simple. Check out the FilterDoctor video for a demonstration @

Overall very satisfied in the short time we''ve been using it ... jury is still out on longer term performance.
