The price works out to 5-1/2 cents per 6 ounce cup. I''d say that''s cheap enough insurance to keep the machine running. We have two Jura super automatics and change the filters when prompted, also tablet clean when prompted. No failures in 5 years.

6-pack is cost effective, obviously cheaper would be better.
I got 1 star off not because of the product (it is great) but rather because of the fact that nobody else makes them in this size, most likely due to aggressive stand of the manufacturer against copies.

Ordering this item from Amazon was a great convenience and the multi-pack was a fantastic discount.Changing the filter for the first time was a bit intimidating so I wish there were some instructions included with the filter, but I got it figured out and now I''m set with filters for while.
