Dew Cap Replacement (2pk)

Dew Cap ReplacementI bought these, tested them on 5 gallon jugs and found they are not water tight. Though not advertised as water tight, I assumed so since they would typically be used on drinking water containers (i.e., "emergency water stash"). Since they are not water tight, then they aren''t air tight and should not be used for long term potable water storage without the use of disinfectants (i.e., chlorine).

I purchased these so I could refill bottles that come with the spill-proof lids. Once empty, I removed the spill-proof lid, and snapped these on. Now I can get self-serve refills instead of paying for the much more expensive bottle exchange program. The lids fit very snugly for me and will pay for themselves the first trip to the store.

I ordered 5 of these items (there are two caps per unit), and I''m very pleased. They fit perfectly snug on standard 3/5 gallon bottles (like the ones I''d get from the supermarket or water delivery). They are easy to remove, and can be reused over and over again (I use it to fill up water bottles from a home filter).

This is a great way to store a small emergency stash of water for example. All in all, I highly recommend these caps, and they are a good deal (with very reasonable shipping costs).

These caps fit very well, and I even tried to get the carboy to leak. This is a simple purchase, around $5, but I also received a hand written letter from the owner thanking me for my purchase. If I should ever need anything this company sells I won''t shop further. To the owners, "You are very welcome". Shipping was quick and no complaints.

If you''ve lost a cap (as I did) for a five gallon water jug, these work fine. They aren''t anything special and if your full jug happens to tip over on the way home, it is likely that they will pop off. This has only happened to me once, and they are fine most of the time, but 5gal of water isn''t the most fun to clean from the back of a car. Just secure them or drive super careful so they don''t fall over and they work fine for the price.
