I got this as a beginning to my balsamic and other vinegar experiments. My home-made wine is now fermented and turning to vinegar. This is perfect because the top is open (for the yeast and mother of vinegar to work with), and because it has a spigot.

I didn''t see any imperfections or cheapness about it, and mine had gaskets that went before and after the spigot insert.

The product is cheap looking , is made in China, and when rinsed with tap water fine cracks appeared throughout the glazeI would not trust using this for water for my family. I would not have given it even one star, however, the review wouldn''t post without it.

This is the second Crock I''ve purchased. Both are used for brewing Kombucha at home and do a superior job since they are lead-free and opaque so the tea can brew away in peace. This Ceramic Water Crock was exactly what I hoped it would be. The item is well made, attractive, and large enough to be stable, even with a five gallon water bottle (not included.) It also accepts smaller bottles. It''s a very handy way to have bottled water on hand without having to dispose of all those pesky 20 ounce bottles that fill up our land fills and without having to buy or rent a large standing cooler. With the five gallon bottle in place it does not fit under our cabinets on the counter top but lives nicely on a stand in the kitchen.
