After searching for the best price and looking at the reviews I finally chose this water filter. I noticed that it had a few bad reviews but you will see that with most items. Sometimes people get a badly manufactured item or maybe they don''t know how to use what they have purchased. I must say this item worked just as well as the manufacturers filter. I''ve bought two of these now and I love them. I think other reviews that talk about murkiness and coloration haven''t read the instructions that tell you to flush up to four gallons of water through it before drinking. I''ve never had to do that much. I ran about a gallon through both times and now my water is tasting sweet! It''s just my wife and I so we go up to a year with one and the flavor never got bad. With name brands costing almost twice as much, you can''t go wrong with this.

It fits the same as the Amana filter which costs much more. I don''t see any problem with this filter.

This filter is a suitable replacement for the Amana WF401. There was a little sputtering of water out of the dispenser shortly after installation. After that, it has been working fine.
