People are giving this item a bad review because they are too stupid to read the instructions. They are just putting in the filter like the Brita filter, which is wrong. You need to screw it in from the bottom of the reservoir to be affective. The Brita leaves bits of purifier in the water, Zero does not leave anything but clean water.
