Like others have said, make sure you get all you need to install this right. The EP-036 only works with the Hamilton Humidifier Model 10 HF. Hamilton has their own web site (hamiltonhomeproducts.com) where you can find the product manuals and pictures of what the real product looks like with it''s side rails. It is important that the pad be inserted in the right direction (black mark at the top on the original product) so the water flows through the pad correctly.

I''ve also had to replace the solenoid on my unit twice now, and I replace the pad each year but it continues to work great. It makes the whole house feel warmer, totally does away with static shocks, and helps to keep the hardwood floors in my house in great shape.

My previous filters had no metal frame. This one came with metal around it with perforations. I thought the perforations would work fine but like another reviewer, I found water all over my floor around the furnace. After removing the metal frame and putting the un-framed filter back in, it works great. This is very hard to find and I''d buy another.
