Needed 3 Big Blue''s for well pump water in series w/o the pressure relief button, these were perfect and really priced right.
1" PVC SCH-40 MPT to join them with Teflon paste (not tape) spaced 3" apart, mounted on 1x8 rack 48" high with 5/16 NC bolts and flat washers (not wood lags).
My outlet has T fitting (not just ell up) with 3/4" PVC "blow-off" threaded ball valve aimed down.
This works amazing for couple reasons:
1 little red relief buttons spray water everywhere, take forever and eventually sometimes leak, I hate them.
2 crack the blow-off for instant pressure relief into a 5 gal bucket or 32 gal garbage can. This is the ONLY way to blow-off the carbon block finish filter in the customers home, no explaining why all the faucets are running out a LOT of black water. (Looks like your changing oil on a diesel bulldozer in the customers bathtub, embarassing!)
Triple progessive setup, all 1" main header (5 bed, 3 bath):
First Sediment filter 4.5x20" 50-25-10-5 micron (quad layer gradient poly)
Middle Fine filter 4.5x20" 25-10-5-1 micron (quad layer gradient poly)
Final Charcoal filter 4.5x20" 10 micron (carbon block, to brighten up water, not user for sediment filtration)
Full flow, total pressure drop < 1 psi @ 65 psi, can''t tell the filter from bypass.
If you are installing just one, consider using sediment filter 4.5x20" 50-25-10-5 micron (quad layer gradient poly)
Comes with O-ring gasket (no wrench, buy one separate), perfect 1st time zero leaks, perfect for pro plumbers! These are knock-offs of the original Pentek units. No problem with that, I knew this before purchasing. The housings also do not have pressure relief valves. Again, I knew this prior to purchase, so no problem here either. Obviously, the pricing was very attractive on these units. I was disappointed that there was not even one housing wrench within the three housings that I purchased. The housings look good. Have not installed them yet. I''ll be doing three in series, one particulate and two carbon block filters. These will be replacing a full size loose granulated carbon (GAC) floor standing cylinder, used for Radon abatement. The shipping was fast and I had some contact with the seller prior to purchase (email) and the replies were timely and helpful. I have not contacted them about the wrench (which the listing did not imply was included). Perhaps I will after writing this.
