8 Gallon Countertop Water Filter Purifier - Save $$$ - Transform Tap Water to Pure Healthy Mineral Drinking WaterI purchased this purifier in March because: 1) The tap water here is bad (as in "messed up my insides" bad); 2) Not a fan of bottled water; 3) SOOOO tired of Brita, Pur, etc... I was definitely hesitant to purchase this because of the lack of reviews and having never heard of the company before, but I haven''t had a single issue with it (set up was not as painful as I thought it would be) and their customer service is freaking outstanding!

I am thrilled with this thing. I don''t keep it in the fridge. I actually keep it on a raised counter top next to the sink (easy to fill and easy to access). The main problem I was having with tap water was indigestion and since I started using this, I haven''t had any issues like I was having. The water tastes fantastic...it tastes like nothing. There are no "unknowns" floating around in it...it really is a great purifier.

I can''t say much about the "Magnetized Water" because I just sort of skipped over that feature since I had no interest in it, but I can say that right now I''m close to a computer monitor and NO problems...if that helps. *wink*

So, yeah, I''ve tried Brita, I''ve tried Pur, I hated the expense of using any of their various systems (I tried many) and I drink a LOT of water, so I wanted something big. I have to refill this about every 2 days (I just use an empty coffee container to fill the reservoir so easy) and I''ve only had to clean it once since purchasing it (the cleaning process is awesome too...everything is pretty much awesome about this beast).

I would absolutely recommend this to strangers as I''ve already recommended it to friends.

I spent about 2 weeks researching water filtration systems. I knew I did not want a bulky ''Brita'' on my kitchen faucet and I was sure I wanted a system that would remove as many deposits and chemicals as humanly possible. I am in a household with two people and two cats and we go through a lot of water. Hot tea and H2O is all we drink in this house (minus our juicer creations). I did not have a thousand plus dollars to spend and I did not want to sign up for water service. They too use plastic containers and how can I be certain where they are supplied my water?

I was led here by other reviews on various websites and I couldn''t be more pleased. Also, thank you for the previous reviewer on amazon and your review. I am thrilled with my system.

This system works more like a natural spring because there is no electricity required. This means NO NOISY filter running in your kitchen or pennies being added to your electric bill everyday. Gravity does the work and the filters do the rest.

PLEASE NOTE: I highly recommend that you follow the initial setup cleaning steps carefully. It may seem a little time consuming, but it is worth an hour to never have to buy another bottle of water again. If you do not want your water to taste funny, be sure you run two cycles through before consumption. I followed the directions and had no problems with taste whatsoever.

In purchasing any product with parts you have to replace (i.e. filters, printer cartridges, etc.), I always look at the price of replacements over the cost of the machine. You may save $100 on a machine, but if the replacement part is expensive, you will be loosing money in the long run. The Zen filters are very reasonable ($15) and would probably need no more than two a year for the most avid user.

I can also use this system to fill my cats'' water dishes and wash my vegetables. No point in buying organic products if you are going to wash them in chemicals running from the tap. I can fill a bowl with my Zen water and let them soak.

I couldn''t be more pleased and I will recommend this system to anyone who is serious about their water and our planet. Please stop using plastic bottles; save your money and our environment!!

I purchased the 8 gal countertop model and I am disappointed in the design of the unit. But before I comment on why that is I do want to say that putting it together was fairly easy. Like some of the other comments you have to make sure that you follow the directions, it''s well worth it. Now, the design in my opinion could be better. The unit leaks from the top of the bottom tank if the bottom tank is full and you still have water in the top holding tank. Even my Brita countertop model lets you fill the top holding tank when the bottom filtered water tank is full. I think because the filtering with this unit takes longer to filter it would be even more advantageous to be able to keep the holding tank full. That way it would automatically filter down to the bottom tank as you use the water. My other concern that I have is the tap looks and feels cheaply made. I''m hoping it lasts for a decent amount of time. I gave the unit only 3 stars but I do want to say that the water is definitely better tasting than the water from my Brita. It does take a lot longer to filter through but that''s okay. I would have rated it 5 stars but I think the problems with the leaking tank would have been an easy fix in the design phase. The reason I think it''s important is because when you have a lot of company over it''s hard to remember to keep checking to make sure there''s enough water available and that you haven''t over-filled the tank.

We purchased two of these. One for home and one for my son to have at college. They came packaged properly and arrived in good shape. Only took a few minutes to set up. You do need to follow directions though. The filters need to be prepped/soaked before using. Advice in the directions is to never use soap/water/bleach, or other cleaners with any part of it and no hot water. If you do not mind the taste of bleach, then by all means, have at it with the bleach. Blech! Hot water would probably destroy the resin and turn it to a slimy , melted blob. Yes, it is made of plastic. This is probably why they are more affordable than some of the others you can get. Metal and glass are available for a much higher price with other companies. They have made a good product that is affordable for most anyone. It also notes that if you are under a boil order, that this is not what it is meant for. Dumped the first two cycles of water on the flowers and kept the third. It tastes like water. If you leave it set in the container for a long time, it will get a much stronger mineral flavor though. We have found that when properly assembled, it filters about a gallon of water per hour or so. The first two cycles were a little bit slower. We use the water to fill a 2.5 gallon container in the refrigerator and continue to filter and fill an extra container or two for the coffee pot or cooking or whatever else. We have more than we we drink in one day, no problem.

Our son said the water at college was horrid and discolored and is very happy with the quality of the filetered water this filter produces.

Suggested replacement times are 6 months for the 5 stage filter, 12 months for the ceramic filter, and 3 to 5 years for the mineral rocks on the bottom. Of course, the quality of the water you are filtering will determine that. We are cleaning the ceramic filter each weekend with a good brushing to keep it clear of particle buildup, which would slow it down.
