For me personally, it is the best vacuum cleaner. As owner of vacuums that last 2-3 years, let me tell you that this vacuum will last 10-20 years. It is so reliable that it is used in places such as Buckingham palace. Great durability, reliability, and value. I educated myself about vacuums and also cost of bags, HEPA filters. Sebo vacuum bags cost as much as Hoover bags. Attachment on this vacuum works really well. Sebo has a lot of authorized dealers that will help you and advice you if needed. Hepa filter on average needs change about once a year. Stay away from Dyson Get vacuum that really sucks--dust! My carpet looks brand new. It lifted the pile and it just look different. Love vacuuming and I am not clean freak.I really do not have a lot of experience with my new Sebo, I just bought it yesterday. It was more than I wanted to spend but I have had such bad luck with vacuum cleaners over the years that I needed something reliable.I went to an actual vacuum cleaner store and got the run down. I had first considered the Dyson and the salesman recommended it. I wanted something bagless, upright and would suck. After awhile he started talking about the Sebo, gave a little "pet hair" demo and I was impressed. Even though the Sebo actually has less sucking power than the Dyson it out-vacuumed it. And I liked the design of the Sebo. It is simple and sleek. When I look at the Dyson I wonder if it is supposed to launch me into space or vacuum my floors. All that plastic is a big drawback for me as well.
Like I said, I have had the worse luck with vacuum cleaners. The last one I had was a Hoover that we picked up from Home Depot for $99 on sale. No wonder, they were trying to get rid of them. Silly thing looked like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars. And even with the Sebo, the salesperson offered me the red model. Told him I did not want it because it reminded me of the disastrous Dirt Devil we once had.
As I mentioned in the beginning, I have only had the Sebo since yesterday. I may be hauling it back in a week and tell them I want something else. But it has received some great reviews AND it is made in Germany in a "green" factory. I like that.
I vacuumed the entire house yesterday, stairs and all. Carpets, linoleum, fake wood, tile and it handled it all. One of the things that most impressed me was when you get near the dust bunnies and pet hair on a hard surface it does not blow them away. I always hated when I would be running around the house trying to suck up the clumps that always stayed in front of me. Great exercise but very frustrating.
My carpets are a disaster, they will be replaced in the near future. But after going over them with the Sebo they actually felt better. What else can I say.

I bought this vacuum used on eBay after having researched it and realizing the sticker price was out of my price range. I have two dogs with long hair that shed like crazy, and a Norwegian Forest Cat (long, long poofy hair) and the pet hair in our house was so insurmountable that I have literally shed tears over it.Our old vacuum was a Hoover Windtunnel with "pet hair attachement"...what a joke. During shedding seasons we literally had to rake our carpet with the One Sweep rubber broom before vacuuming, and even then after one room the Hoover would start burning and we''d have to get out the screwdrivers and start what we called "surgery" to get the pet hair off the agitator, which took about 30 minutes. I can''t believe I lived my life like that. Also, I have pretty severe dust and pet hair allergies, so the process of vacuum "surgery" would result in bronchial inflamation, itchy skin, watery eyes and a runny nose. It was such a horrible ordeal that we didn''t vacuum often, and then we would avoid having guests in our house.
We got our Sebo X4 a month ago, and it has changed my life. We don''t have to rake the carpet, and when the agitator gets too much pet hair on it a little light tells you to clean it, and GET THISyou just push a button, a door pops open, and the whole agitator pops out!!! Then you can pull of the pet hair in 15 seconds, pop it back in, and you''re on your way. My allergies are not irritated when I vacuum, and we''ve vacuumed our hairy 1600 square foot house probably eight times now and we haven''t had to change the bag. It folds down so that I can vacuum under our bed with it, and it works on wood floors! You can actually vacuum your wood floors with this upright and it doesn''t blow the dirt and hair away. Best vacuum ever ever ever.
Anyone with a pet hair problem should get this vacuumyour quality of life will improve dramatically, and you can wear black again! Amazing!
