So far so good! We had a slight issue at first with it not generating steam, but a call to the customer support number got us straightened out within minutes. Note to buyers: it takes a few minutes (not a few seconds) for water to saturate the filter on the initial use. Customer support recommended taking a squeeze bottle filled with water (we used a dollar store ketchup bottle) and forcing water into the filter. This got us steam within seconds and it''s been gangbusters ever since.

It cleans just as well as a mop with cleaning solutions in less time (if you figure in the time it takes to fill up bucket, mix chemicals, etc.), with less mess (leaves surfaces slightly damp vs. wet), and less cleanup afterward (no chemicals to dump/rinse just throw the cloth pad in the laundry). That''s another thing the clamp that holds the cloth pad on allows you to use any kind of cloth, so you''re not stuck buying replacement pads; you can use old towels or rags. With 3 cats running around like maniacs, it''s great to not have to use cleaning solutions on the floors.

Our only lasting complaint is that the rack that holds the accessories doesn''t fit snugly onto the body of the machine and falls off if you bump it. Until we can figure out how to wedge it a little more tightly we''re just leaving the rack off while in use.

After spending time over several weeks reading reviews on Steam Mops, it''s clear that the manufacturers need to do some work. There were so many poor reviews in every product line, it was hard to find any product that didn''t have scathing reviews. I found this one on other sites with good reviews so thought I would give it try.

If my son had not accidentally thrown the box away, I would have returned it.

Pros It does clean well. The steam is hot. It leaves the floor wet but dries quickly.

But what you have to fight to get there is not worth it.

You have to hold the handle down for the steam to come out I rigged it with a strong rubber band as it tired my hands out.

The cord is just not long enough and there is not a cord clasp to keep it out of your way as you are cleaning. The bottom cord holder is so far down on the handle that when you try to wrap the cord around it, you hit the body of the machine.

The plug is weighted heavily so the slightest movement and out it comes I tried pushing the prongs apart but that didn''t help so now I plug it into a power strip isn''t that fun?

The Accessory kit won''t stay on if the machine is at a stand still much less in movement. Really? They couldn''t figure out to fasten a plastic carrier on?

Hard to push. I keep looking down to see if the wheels are really moving since pushing this thing is like pushing rubber across carpet. I''m going to try a microfiber cloth and see if that helps.

It runs out of water just cleaning my small kitchen.

When I pull the water tank stopper out, the whole rubber plug comes out. So I have to ever sooooo gently pull it and hold the other part down to keep that from happening.

There are a lot of tools but seriously, I''m not going to use them so it''s a waste. I did pull it out to use as a hand held model but I could not see any difference in the cleanliness of the sink so who wants to drag the thing around.

I''m using it because I paid for it and I don''t want it go to waste -but I feel foolish getting stuck with this machine.

I''ve read other reviews on this before I purchased mine, so I know all about how it doesnt get next to the mop-boards. I find that if I mop sideways from the mop-board then it gets closer to it than if I were to mop using the head-on approach. I love how you can shut cloths of your choice in it. Consumers like to feel like they have a choice and aren''t forced to buy the proprietary pads for the Shark and other similar cleaners. Additionally this Gruene is more effective because the steam only shoots directly out of the bottom and is not wasted by trying to shoot out the sides or front as some I was able to find during my searches.

A thing to keep in mind: If you''re looking for perfection with any item you''re thinking about choosing then you''re instantly setting yourself up for disappointment. You have to look at it objectively.

Take string mops, Libman removable head mops, Swiffer and standard sponge squeeze mops for example. They ALL leave something to be desired. Be it that they merely push the dirt around, aren''t hot enough (or not hot at all) to sanitize anything whatsoever, take too much elbow grease, use sketchy chemicals that aren''t environmentally or pet friendly, the list marches on.

So, back to the Gruene....

I figured out that for me the thicker micofiber cloths like the ones sold in the kitchen section at Walmart work best due to the fact that they''re bigger, thicker and more absorbent. They don''t seem to shove the dirt through to the other side, so when I want a clean side, I undo it and flip sides on the cloth and insert it in again. I can flip it 4 times before having to change to a new cloth.

Using it as a hand-held makes short work of sanitizing and \ or deodorizing the trash cans, toilet, doorknobs, cupboard doors, stove\oven, bathtub, refrigerator (you have to take ALL of the stuff out first), sinks....just whatever.

I will tell you absolutely without a doubt that the Gruene that it is the ONLY thing so far that I have ever found to clean Baseboard Heaters. The heaters that are insanely long with about a million metal fins that is almost impossible to clean between? :-) God help the person who invented those....I have those in every single room in my good-sized apartment. The first time I blew the heaters out with it, I put everything back together and then looked at it a few days later. I couldn''t see one speck of dust on any of the fins. It blasted out a Reeses peanut butter cup wrapper that I guess had been wedged in behind the fins since before I moved in several years ago! If you''re going to do heaters with it, make sure you have the vacuum cleaner handy to get up the dust and cobwebs as soon as possible.

I don''t really have any serious complaints. It seems very powerful and very reasonably priced considering its a 2 in 1 product compared to other items on the market. The one thing I did find is that when using it, I take the accessory holder off the back, otherwise it will fall off repeatedly.

All in all, I love it! I will be heartbroken if this product is ever discontinued.

I decided to give this steamer 5/5, not because I have any other steamers to compare it tobut because it kicks ass at what it does. I''ve cleaned showers, tile floors, kitchen counter tops, sinks, windows, vinyl plank flooring, car rims and to date there hasn''t been a task that it hasn''t done well on. This being my first steamer purchase, I was skeptical about how easy / hardcore at cleaning it could actually be. What really sold me on this particular model is the dual functionality going from a handheld cleaner to a mop; AND the benefit of being able to use my own cleaning cloths.

The steam mop was too heavy and would not get next to mop boards and cabinet edges because the plastic frame that holds the fabric on keeps it too far away from all edges, you end up with a regular mop to finish what this one can''t do. The return procedure was very easy. No problems there.
