I bought this Halo Pure water pitcher for our cabin. This pitcher has given us the peace of mind to not only make sure the well water is safer, but the taste is fantastic. It states it reduces the heavy elements, whereas retains the beneficial minerals which makes great sense. I really like the indicator light that tells us when we have gone through 99 gallons and time for a new filter, which I also purchased on Amazon. 99 gallons should last us about 4-5 months, which is way more economical and ecological than purchasing bottled water. I just don''t have much confidence in the cheaper pitcher models on the market. The design is very sleek, which fits well in our refrigerator

Recommended for potable water only. This is not something you should rely upon if the city water shuts down and you''re depending on runoff. I filter city water. Takes out the particulates and cuts the cholorine and other off-flavors and smells. Disolved oxygen remains, so the water doesn''t taste flat.

Takes about 15 minutes to filter a liter. May take longer as the filter clogs.

I noted a little black from the new filter. Instructions recommend discarding the first two iterations, so that became a non-issue.

I like this system very much. I ordered a second pitcher and three more filters.

This pitcher is great. The water tastes wonderful and it fits into my frig well. It is easy to fill and pour from. I like the counter that tells me when to change the filter. Filter was easy to install. Much less expensive than bottled water! I use the water for all my drinking water, for cooking, and also to make my coffee each morning.

The filters that this pitcher comes with have no effect on my tap water at all. Brita and PUR both work much better. I do, however, really like the design of the pitcher itself. So many water pitchers are so flimsy that you need to use both hands to pour in order to make sure the lid doesn''t fall off. This one doesn''t have that issue.

Here''s what I''ve done with it: If you have at least one of the filter cartridges that came with this pitcher, you can remove the black rubber gasket wrapped around it and place it onto a standard Brita filter. This allows the Brita filter to fit inside this pitcher, and it works really well for me. Every time you change your Brita filter, just remember to remove and wash the gasket, and then place it on the new filter cartridge. I have no idea if the LED counter effectively measures how often a Brita filter needs to be changed, but I use it as a guide (since otherwise I would just get lazy and never change the thing).

This a great, reliable, and easy to use water filter. It fits perfectly in my refrigerator and the sturdy design makes it easy to hold, pour, and refill when needed. It was an incredibly doable set up as well. Moving from Seattle, WA to the southern California area, the tap water had a "funny taste" but this filter took care of that issue remarkably.
