BISSELL ReadyClean PowerBrush Upright Deep Cleaner, Blue, 47B2To sum up at the beginning rather than the end, in my opinion the Bissell ReadyClean 47B2 is just right for spaces with small amounts of carpeting or spaces without much storage room. So if you have an excess of storage space and/or an excess of carpeting you''d be better off getting a bigger machine.

This 47B2 looks like it is meant to be a little more expensive than the 40N7 but they both sell for the same price on Amazon currently. The 47B2 (the blue one) is one pound heavier and has a rotating dirt lifter brush while the white one has 6 row cross action brush. So go with the blue one if you''re choosing between these two.

The advantage of this unit over Bissell''s bigger machines, for our family, is that we can store it in the same closet with our regular vacuum cleaner. We currently have a Bissell portable carpet cleaner that we store under the kitchen sink and a big heavy duty model that has to be stored in the basement. So this Readyclean is the fastest to grab and go with.

The ReadyClean works fine. The water gets all dirty and gross and you know it''s cleaning but if you have a lot of space to clean you need to look at the trade-offs for going with a more expensive machine. The readyclean has about an 8.5" cleaning path, the larger machines are 11 to 12" wide. This is a 3amp and the larger machines are 12 amp. This holds 1/2 gallon and the bigger machines hold 3/4 gallon. The bigger machines have bigger brushes also. So if you have a lot of carpeting or really really dirty carpeting you''d be better with a bigger unit.

This Bissell Deep Cleaner 47B2 is lightweight and easy to assemble and maneuver; it has a very long power cord (more than 15 feet long), and a retractable upper handle. To release the cleaning fluid you have premixed with water and stored in the half-gallon-capacity solution tank, you just have to press on the spray trigger located in the upper handle.

As the cleaner''s powerful suction lifts dirt, stains, and hair away from the carpet, the collecting debris and dirty water will accumulate in the cleaner''s smallish, see-through collection tank at the base of the machine. Depending on how large the area you''re trying to clean, and how dirty that area is, the collection tank could fill up before you''ve covered the entire area. When this happens, you''ll need to empty out the collection tank first before you can continue with your cleaning, making this cleaner -in my opinion -more suitable for mostly light to moderate carpet cleaning jobs. I can say, however, that this cleaner does clean the carpet I tested it on really well.

After each carpet cleaning, you still need to spend some additional time cleaning out the above-mentioned collection tank, which consists of emptying the tank of the accumulated debris and dirty water, and then loosening a few removable parts and giving those a thorough rinse. You may have to give the tank itself a thorough rinse as well to remove any remaining dirt clinging on to parts of the tank. This multi-step collection tank clean-up could sometimes feel like a more tedious chore than the just concluded carpet cleaning, depending on how dirty the carpet or how large the cleaning area had been (that is, the greater the amount of the collected debris, the greater the likelihood that some of the dirt would cling to parts of the collection tank that would require a more thorough rinsing effort to properly clean up the collection tank).

This is the second Bissell carpet cleaner I have used. My first one is a full size deep cleaner, and this one is smaller. I''d say it''s somewhere between a spot cleaner and a full size cleaner but despite the smaller size, it is easy to use and does a great job of cleaning. I used it on a high traffic area of my carpet and the deepest stains were removed. I used a pet formula Bissell solution and it removed pet stains and left the carpet smelling great.

This cleaner has two reservoirs. In one you put the premixed cleaning solution and the other captures the dirty water removed from the carpet.

I am not sure I''d want to use this cleaner on a full-sized room, but for smaller areas it does great. I have a cat who has occasional ''accidents'' so I have to frequently clean certain carpet areas, and this will be a fabulous cleaner for this purpose. It''s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and does a great job.

This is basically a carpet cleaner which squirts cleaning fluid onto your carpet, brushes it with a rotating brush and sucks all the fluid back up again into a container which you then pour out.

I already have two handheld wet vacs. The first one I ever had was a cordless and was very poor, mainly because this type of vacuuming requires a lot of power and battery power is just inadequate. The second one was corded and much more powerful, except that the capacity to hold the fluid is small and I keep having to add fluid and pour it out again. So it was only good for small spills, tiring, noisy and not good for your back or knees!

This one pretty much does the same thing as my handhelds but is much bigger. It''s like one of those vacuums you rent out at the supermarket but a small home version. As such it works great. It''s much lighter than those and works just as well but on a smaller basis. I would not use this to clean an entire room such as you would with those, but on spills, dirty areas, spots, etc.

Overall, I like it a lot. It''s lightweight and easy to use. This would not be my only carpet cleaning solution in my house, but just one of my arsenal against various humans, animals, visitors, children, spouse and sundry others who carelessly track dirt over my formerly spotless carpet. Highly recommended to those who have a problem with dirty carpets, and much better than handhelds.

Update: I now also have BISSELL ReadyClean Upright Deep Cleaner, White/Blue, 40N7. The White/Blue 40N7 is 10 bucks cheaper at this time (prices fluctuate), but don''t mistake the two. The White/Blue 40N7 does not have the rotating brush, it has a stationary brush that just hangs under the vacuum.

Throughout our house we have either hard wood floors or tile. Living room, bedrooms, and dining room have area rugs. First I will say that my wife will be the primary user of this but the first test run belong to me. When you see this unit in the store it is much smaller than the other larger, deluxe units and seems like it would take a really long time to get the rugs cleaned. Well I have had a larger one and the biggest pain was using it and making turns to get another section of the rug as carpet cleaners are designed to go straight line cleaning. The next is when you have to store or carry it. The larger ones will have to huffing and puffing to carry it around and then mad when you have to figure out were to store it. Then you will not want to use the larger one because of the weight and it will sit in a corner closet and you will wish you did not spend the extra $100.

The performance: This cleaner got right to work. We cleaned what we considered our "cleanest" carpet in the guess room. The dogs don''t sleep in there and we recently had a visitor for an extended stay. I proceed to clean it and SO MUCH dirt came out! I was amazed. I thought that regular vacuuming kept it clean; not so. Then I did half the carpet in the main bedroom and after it dried a little I could see a difference in the color of the rug. It works as well as the larger one I use to have. The key with any of the carpet cleaners is to go SLOW. Allow the cleaning solution to work and make sure you suck up all the fluid on the carpet that you can. You can see when it is done sucking up the fluid. You can also make a pass, putting fluid on the carpet, and start another row and then go back to the one you started. Finally, instead of getting the one with the heating elemet in it to warm up the water, just put hat tap water in the supply tank and save your electrical breaker some stress, and have one less thing that will break.

Overall, the size and weight, cleaning power, and ease of cleaning the unit after use will win you over and make you happy you only spent $100!
