However, I''ll just tell you what I do. It works for me. Wait till the sink is drained, or bail it out if you have to. Then poor in the liquid plumber and let it just sit. Meanwhile, boil a pot of water. Like a big soup pot. Then, after the liquid plumber has been doing it''s thing, absorbing it''s way into your clog, for a good fifteen or twenty minutes, you poor in the boiling water. It does something, activates the chemicals or something, but the combination seems to work well. But wait till the kids are asleep or at a neighbors house, burns from scalding water and chemical burns are no joke. Sorry, I wouldn''t have slept well though if I didn''t throw that in.

This was the first time I''ve ever had to use a liquid plumber and I was really impressed with how quickly it worked. I had a slow draining bathroom sink and per the instructions, you pour a certain amount into the drain and let it cook in there for about 15 minutes then flush with HOT water. I just happend to have a new coffee pot that I also purchased so I used the water in that which was being used to clean it on its first go around so after the 15 minutes were up I poured down the hot water and amazingly I could hear the clog move then the drain was clear. I definatly recommend this product!Read Best Reviews of Liquid Plumr Heavy-Duty Clog Remover Here
I had to buy a 2-pack at Costc*, and it initially worked pretty good on my showers/sink drains (didn''t dissolve hair).I stored the rest in my cool basement for a year+When I went to use it again it was a solid gel, and the white chemical... had separated. No amount of vigorous shaking would mix it up again!
BTW15min wait is NOT long enough to dissolve all the gunk..., in many Badly clogged drains (overnight is best!)!
I also run HOT water for a couple of minutes "Before" adding drain cleaner (after too).
The boiling water after using sounds like a good idea, to help dissolve/wash away the gunk...
