I can''t imagine why anyone would pay full retail for manufacturer specific water filters when this "generic" (Aqua Fresh) one does exactly the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

It works, it lasts, it''s a good product. This is the 3rd one I''ve used over the past 2 years as they need to be changed about every 6 months. (The case with all refrigerator water filters.) If I had bought the Maytag version it would have been almost double the cost.

We own a Maytag Plus side-by side refrigerator/freezer and it is becoming hard to find the proper replacement filters at the local dealer (we''ve been sent home with several wrong filters).
