I bought this for my totalpond filter 1200 I have (http://www.amazon.com/TotalPond-PF1200UV-Pressurized-Biological-Clarifier/dp/B004DL0Y4E/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1338049866&sr=1-3-fkmr0).
The manufacturer recommends you replace them every year. I thought they would be like $10 for the filter, but $30 seems very high. The total cost of the filter was $120 and I have to buy a $30 filter and a new UV light bulb every ear for $40.
I also have to cut holes in the filter to make it fit correctly. It took me about 45minutes to cut the holes, put it in the filter and put everything back together.
I''m thinking at the end of the fall, I''m just going to clean out the filter I bought really nice and not just junk it.
Last year, I bought the replacement onces from Home Depot for $14. This season, they are $27, and you have to have them shipped. I figured I''d use prime and get it in two days.
Pros: It Fits and seems to do its job.
Cons: Had to cut hole, expensive, may require replacement every season.
