Had this filter when it developed a tiny crack near the filter life window. Within a month it had hairline cracks all over filter case. More water leaked out of the case than went through the filter.

The actual filtering action was effective but the enclosure (which costs at least as much as the filter itself) promptly developed cracks at the filter cover and faucet fitting. This happened in two separate occassions, so we''ve decided to give up on this product.

I''ve been satisfied with this filter up until now. About 3 weeks ago, it developed a crack in it. I have no idea why these PUR filters seem to crack alot, after reading several other reviews. I''ve never bumped mine or dropped it. The filters aren''t cheap to buy, but now the filter itself is cracked and i''m stuck with a couple extra filters. I may try to sell them on ebay. I won''t buy another one of these.

I''ve used this filter for years. They''ve always worked great. If you have a problem, just email them and they will send you a coupon good for a new one. I think the cracks are a new problem as I''ve never had that problem. I wrote them once asking if there was a kit to keep it from coming out both places at once and they sent me a coupon for a new one.
