- Drop-in cartridge makes filter change fast and easy
- Resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers provide higher wet strength than regular cellulose
- Recommended for chlorinated water supplies

This is a simple pleated paper cartridge with pretty good specs a five micron particle size means it will eliminate most (but not all) pollutants and minerals from water. However we have pretty high water pressure, and this seemed to distort the filter and reduce its efficacy pretty quickly. I have replaced it with a more expensive filter that uses both carbon and paper, and encloses it within a metal grid. This seems to retain the shape better. I would guess that if you don''t have a major or chemical problem with your water source, this would be adequate for a simple drinking water system, as long as your pressure is not too high. It is always worth checking out how many gallons each filter is designed to handle this will tell you what its useful life will be. Often you will find that a more expensive filter will handle far more gallons before wearing out or clogging, and that it ends up costing you less over its life. Also, you don''t have to change filters as often, which can sometimes be a pain.
