What can I say. We''ve been using this system since 2005. These filters do indeed provide a fast fill compared to others. You don''t have to stand there forever waiting for your glass or water bottle to fill. They make your tap water taste great, and we generally change filters about every 8 months or so, only for saftey (the water still tastes fine), and the filter is relatively easy to change. I judge them to be a bit costly, but prorated over 8 or more months, not soooo bad. I see where others go for a year before changing. We use these with the Kohler K-6666 Beverage Faucet and filtration system.

somehow it manages to make perfectly drinkable NYC tap water gross after a couple of months. Looks like stuff gets lodged inside the filter and makes it go bad. At[..]per refill a horrible value.

This is the high-flo model. I believe there is another model, with a lower rate, which removes additional impurities or tastes. But either way, I replace the filter every year or so. It is specifically for a Kohler drinking water sink outlet.
