That being said...
This is our second iSpring RO system and 3rd system overall in the last 7 years. We bought a GE 4-stage from Home Depot in 2006 and it worked very well. We are a family of four and we pull, on average, 6-7 quarts of RO for drinking per day. I''m that guy who firmly believes in "go big or go home" and wanting more filtering we decided to upgrade to the iSpring 5-stage filter. That was last year. The iSpring is EVERY BIT as good as the GE if not better in terms of quality, ease of instruction, and performance. And yes, we could taste a difference between the 4-stage and 5-stage systems. The 5-stage tasted ''cleaner'' though I''m not sure how..
We were blessed to be able to buy our dream home several months ago and when we listed our original home the iSpring 5-stage RO system was listed as a feature of the house and ultimately a selling point. (we left the new home owners with a new, unopened set of replacement filters) The new owners told their agent that having the RO system already installed was ''very attractive'' to them and was an influence on their decision to purchase our house -off the subject I know but still things to consider..)
When it came time to purchase a new system for our new home I immediately went to Amazon to find an iSpring. I looked at a couple of other systems but really only to validate my belief that the iSpring is the absolute best bang for the buck out there. I went top-shelf and ordered the 7-stage ispring, complete with UV filter and mineral filter (ADDS beneficial minerals back to the water after the RO process) The price was excellent and the quality I already trusted.
The system is in and operating exactly as I would have expected and every time we get a glass of water we know that we have CLEAN, safe water. The taste is absolutely brilliant...
Okay, so I''ve told you that I''m very familiar with RO systems, having installed three of them. I ham a repeat customer to iSpring because of their quality. If I ever have to buy another system it will ONLY be iSpring. I''ve recommended iSpring to friends and neighbors without hesitation.. so what''s the "however?"
The 7-stage system is assembled in such a way that installation can be a real challenge. There are SO many filters and whatnot it is difficult to keep everything in place when installing. What I ended up doing (and LOVE actually) is that I went to Home Depot and bought additional tubing to mount each cartridge (stage) by itself. I moved 3 of the stages off of the main body and mounted them above the system. It is a very easy process and added literally 30 minutes to the install. Now I can easily get to each cartridge when the time comes to replace them. I think iSpring should look at remotely mounting some of the cartridges on the 7-stage systems... on the 5-stage it was no issue. The other "however" is a bit more serious. The UV filter is there to sterilize the water and the technology is sound. The problem however, is that the UV filter is ON continuously... and when no water is being drawn through the system that water which is in the UV tube gets hot... I mean HOT. This component absolutely needs to have a pressure switch added to regulate the on/off time of the UV light. When water isn''t being drawn from the system the pressure would be sufficient to turn the light off. When the fountain is used, the pressure drop would turn the light ON thus sterilizing the water as it flows. Close the fountain and the pressure goes back up, tripping the switch and turning OFF the light. In my opinion this is a pretty big deal.. I drew a small glass of water to take some Motrin and the water was so hot I almost burnt my mouth. I''ve unplugged the UV light so I am receiving zero benefit from that stage right now. I am going to figure out how to incorporate the pressure switch but honestly just haven''t had time.
So... long story short.. iSpring is an EXCEPTIONAL value! It is a wonderful system that you can trust to give you years of worry free/hassle free service. Installation is a breeze as long as you stay at 5-stage systems and below. Beware of the UV feature... until they incorporate a way for the light to turn on and off with water use (pressure switch) I feel the UV feature is UNSAFE.
At "gee male" you can add JGM dot Texas if you''d like to inquire further. Happy to help.
Buy iSpring 7-Stage 75 GPD UV Ultra Violet Alkaline Mineral Reverse Osmosis RO Water System Now
We were looking for a high-quality reverse osmosis system that offered an alkalizing filter for the added health benefit of alkaline water. We had a previous system without the alkaline or UV filters, so we were familiar with a basic in-home under-sink RO system and what to expect. This system came in many boxes with many parts, so we hired a professional plumber from Pelican Water Systems with experience installing more complex RO systems. The written instructions that came with the unit were quite lacking, and there were almost no instructions on how to install the 7th filter (UV filter). After the system was installed, we ran the tank out to flush out impurities and such, and the water remained a bit foggy with a bad taste for the first 2-3 weeks and then cleared. TEMPERATURE: We noticed the water came out of the tap VERY hot for the first 10 seconds or so... over multiple measurements, the temperature consistently was about 120 degrees! It was so hot it came out white and steaming, which caused us concern as a baby would soon be in the home. The plumber said this may be due to the UV filter, but unfortunately this was not mentioned by iSpring on their web site. As long as the UV filter is used, the water will be around 120 degrees whenever you run the tap for the first 10 or so seconds, but will go to room temperature afterwards. Because the water comes out too hot and we had to unplug the UV filter for safety concerns, iSpring issued a partial refund to bring the price down to that of a 6 stage filter. ALKALINITY: Over several pH tests we found the pH to be no higher than 6.75, typically reading at about 6 NOT the alkalinity promised between 7-8. iSpring agreed to send us a replacement filter to see if that solves the problem, we will update the review at that time. CUSTOMER SERVICE: iSpring has offered excellent customer service, and hopefully they will be updating their web site to inform potential customers about the UV filter heating up the water to 120 degrees.I should give to this company 10 Stars.A++ Prioduct

You are here, because you are tired of companies just give You promises and not product You are looking for?
I want to say I am one of the hard satisfaction guy in the whole world. If I say this company and its product is perfect so IT IS.
I drunk water all around the world from middle east,Europe, and North America. I always complain about water. But I am glad to find a best product in the market and the best company in the world. If you see sombody give to this company and its product 4 Stars, there is nothing wrong with this product.
I have no experience in plumbing at all. But I just install it in less than an hour.
I really recommend this to anyone.
Oh let me say this : I have had problem with the UV transformer which it did not work and after I sent an email to their customer service department. They told me they will send me another one. which they did. I gut my new UV transformer after 4 days. They have professional customer service. Water is Life. This seller is selling life to us. Do not wait. I am not leaving this comment to make the seller happy, I was in your position 2 weeks ago. I did not know what water fillter system should I buy.
Good Luck and Thanks iSpringThis is an awesome product and a great return for the investment. Not hard to install (Took less than an hour) and we now have the best and cleanest water I have ever tasted, I even take water to work with me now. I also purchased the HM Digital TDS-EZ TDS Water Quality Tester with Auto-off Function TDS-EZ to test purity if the water and found my pool water was close to being as clean as my tap water. Not good! My Tap water read 179 PPM and my new filtered water was only 18 PPM and taste, well you have to see for yourself. I also put in a splitter in and ran a line to my Ice Maker, now even my ice is clean tasting and safe. I know my family is no longer being poisoned by Fluoride anymore and I really believe we all feel better and healthier.
I plan to install this system at my mothers, my Aunts and my X-Wifes so the kids will have safe clean water to drink there to!EDIT: I have changed this review from 4 stars to 3 stars. I originally installed the system without the UV filter. Now that I''ve installed it, the water immediately tastes like electrical wire which is interesting because the UV filter installation process requires me to install an electrical wire into the water to power the UV bulb. I wrote to support to ask if this was normal, and their response was: "UV light may produce some ozone-like smell for new systems, but it will go away after a few weeks." Had I known I would pay extra for my water to taste like "ozone" (or, in my opinion, tastes like how the insulator of an electrical wire smells when exposed to heat), I wouldn''t have paid extra for the UV filter. That it''ll taste that way for "a few weeks" is even more frustrating than the 8 hour installation time required to get the thing to work in the first place.
While the quality of this product is awesome, and while my emails to support were answered within 2 business hours, I do have some suggestions for iSpring that might help others to avoid the same pitfalls I encountered.
Although I considered purchasing from Amazon, it was cheaper to purchase directly from iSpring. I rate the product 4 stars, not 5. The installation took far longer than expected I''d estimate about 8 hours. While some of the installation time was my fault (because I had to spend time to undo mistakes caused by poor instructions, and the time involved does not include the 3 trips to Home Depot) , I did use a professional contractor who was also confused by the installation process. I would kindly suggest a few improvements:
Suggestion 1 the part that connects iSpring to the tap is 1/2" pipe threaded. My unit was built in 2005, and it has compression threading. The connector near the tap is 3/8", not 1/2". Unless it is cost prohibitive, I would suggest including a couple optional parts. I would prefer to pay $5 more and have all parts available for my sink instead of be frustrated with the installation process.
Suggestion 2 have someone whose native language is English write the documentation. The documentation is part of the reason the installation took so long as it wasn''t clear and understandable. Some of the mistakes I made caused cross-threading which caused leaks.
Suggestion 3 label the parts of the system, then write the diagram using those labels. Another issue I had was the part with the word "flow" in dark blue print. It was not listed in the diagram, but there is a part in the diagram listed "flow" which caused me to re-route the hoses. It was only after at least an hour or two of frustration that I then noticed another part with the word "flow" inscribed on the side that is basically white. Had it been the part more prominently labeled "flow," I wouldn''t have rerouted the hoses and made those mistakes.
Suggestion 4 include the correct instructions to install the UV component. While I learned that the installation of the UV part wasn''t difficult, I only learned that after emailing support. The instructions that come with the unit refer to parts that don''t come with the iSpring, and the instructions that came from support described an entirely different process.
Thank you, and I am now (finally) happy with the installation process.
