I normally do not review products, but in this case I got so annoyed trying to compare the various vendors of the same model filter, that I decided to do my own review. I found it very annoying that there is so little information about the filters. Very few vendors publish the filter specifications. Very few explain the internal construction nor the filter medium. Since filter performance is completely dependent on the internal design and materials of the filter, there is no way to intelligently choose between the various vendors.

So I took my used filter and cut it up for all to see and posted the internal pictures on the product page.

You will see this is a well built carbon filter. I am guessing it is activated carbon but have no idea since the vendor says nothing about the materials.

The carbon layer is about 0.5 inch thick and well compressed.

Seems like this filter should work well. I have been using this brand and it seems to work fine.

I would like the vendor to publish the filter specs and describe the filter medium. It would be good to know if this filter has anti-microbial silver in the carbon as some other brands have done over the years.

The filters arrived on time and they are easy to install, really something anyone can do.I can change them more often when the price is this good. The product did what it said it would. It replaces the Samsung water filter for your refrigerator. Good thing because Best Buy (where I bought my frig) doesn''t keep the filters in stock and at this seller tells you if they have them... so you aren"t waiting.

The filter fits snugly into the receptacle, and I did not experience the leakage that another reviewer warned against. The filtered water tastes as good as when I used the Samsung filters, which are a whole lot more expensive.
